I completely agree that consistency is probably the biggest difference between camps that stay booked and camps that constantly struggle with empty spots. A good camp marketing strategy should usually include year-round communication instead of only promoting during registration season. Camps that stay active through email updates, blogs, testimonials, social media, and community engagement tend to build stronger trust over time. I also think follow-up systems are underrated. A lot of families or church groups may show interest but not register immediately, so having organized communication and reminders really matters. Even simple things like a clear website, fast responses to inquiries, and updated photos or retreat information can improve conversions more than expensive advertising campaigns. I’ve actually heard similar discussions on the Grow your camp podcast where they talk about building a long-term camp marketing strategy instead of chasing random short-term trends. Their point about camps needing clearer systems and better messaging rather than “more noise” honestly made a lot of sense to me. It feels more sustainable for camps trying to maintain steady bookings every season. At the end of the day, I think the camps that perform best are usually the ones that combine visibility with a strong guest experience. If families and groups have a positive experience, they naturally recommend the camp to others, which becomes part of the marketing itself. That mix of trust, communication, and consistency probably matters more than any single marketing tactic alone. |
