So I was trying to get a TV from a friend and I stumbled on this series of LG TVs from retailers from Alaba. It was all packaged in LG carton but I became suspicious when I was told the price. I think they were cheap for the prices. The 55" I wanted to get sold for 130k. I asked for the model number and was told LG 55UK64. I googled this model on Fouani site but couldn't find it neither could I get any tangible review on them.

I want to know if anyone has an idea on these TVs if they are original LG products or just imitations.

There are a lot of technology. Please do a google search on TAWS(Terrain Avoidance Warning System), GPWS ( Ground Proximity Warning System), TCAS ( Traffic Collision Avoidance System). These are technologically advanced systems on aircrafts to prevent situations like this. How the pilots uses them is up to the individual person. Have you read the prelim report on the crash.

1.The Pilot was operating in foggy weather (meaning he does not have visuals)
2. The Pilot was operating on Special VFR (tricky scenerio)

I read he requested to climb to a higher altitude but missed a mountain by about 20ft (unconfirmed report).

So this whole thing points to Pilot Error, not the aircraft.

After failing 2000 feet at the mercy of what exactly? That’s not improvement. Even if there was not mountain or it was water they will still perish. Technology has not improved beyond fancy stuffs and looks. Safety has remained unchanged and same.

You are looking at it the wrong way. Something can technically be safe, but what of the user? This accident is referred to in aviation as CFIT ( Controlled Flight into Terrain) where a perfectly airworthy aircraft is flown into terrain. The aircraft itself is technologically safe, but is the pilot?

This was 100% pilot error and stupid decision making. He was holding for 15 min on special VFR clearance outside of Burbank airspace before he was transitioned around Van Nuys. He didn’t want to follow the 118 freeway out to Camarillo and instead wanted to cut back from 118 to basically scud run to destination following the 101. He was given a low altitude to maintain by controller and turned west into rising terrain. He should have been in an IFR plan and clearance, followed a flight plan and appropriate altitudes and landed safely in Camarillo. The pilots decisions were stupid.

Well said...the whole thing screams of "Commercial Pressure"...a common occurence with VIP flights

Technology has really improved. The chopper hit a mountain and spiralled down to destruction. There is no safety insurance against that

I spent close to 1.4mil for a similar trip. Budget hotel though and booked for tickets via Air Peace much earlier.. Here are the breakdown

Tickets: 820k, 2adults, 1 Child and 1 Infant
Hotels in Dubai are really cheap. You can get a good bargain for a 3 star hotel within 20k-50k depending on room type.
I paid for Tour, Hotel, Visas - $1600.

Shopping budget - $1500.
