The CIA has concluded Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, according to US media.

Khashoggi, who was killed in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul last month, was reportedly given assurances that it was safe for him to attend the consulate in a phone call with the Saudi ambassador to the US, Khalid bin Salman, who is the brother of the Crown Prince.

The Washington Post reported on Friday night that the US intelligence agency intercepted a call from the Crown Prince to his brother Khalid in which he instructed him to telephone Khashoggi.

It is not clear if Khalid bin Salman knew that Khashoggi would be killed, but it is the clearest evidence yet that the order to murder the journalist came from the very highest levels of the Saudi government.

Saudi Arabia has repeatedly denied that the Crown Prince had any involvement in the death of Khashoggi, who had been a fierce critic of Mohammed bin Salman.

The revelation will put further pressure on President Donald Trump to publicly rebuke Saudi Arabia's leaders over the diplomatic crisis. The White House has so far been reluctant to damage their relationship with a key ally and trading partner in the Middle East, with Mr Trump repeating Saudi claims that the murder was the result of rogue agents.

The Crown Prince, who is expected to become the next Saudi king, had been seen as a moderniser by Western allies. However international outcry over the murder of Mr Khashoggi has brought his involvement in the affair under heavy scrutiny.

Saudi Arabia has offered shifting explanations or the incident, most recently claiming that rogue operatives injected Khashoggi with a lethal drug overdose. The kingdom has announced charges against 11 people it says were involved and vowed to seek the death penalty against five. Some of the hit team have been identified as key aides to the Crown Prince and other senior Saudi officials.

The CIA reportedly obtained the intelligence that Khashoggi's life may have been in danger before his murder but it was not discovered until after his disappearance, intelligence sources told the Washington Post.

Khashoggi was not considered "a person of interest" before his disappearance, and was regarded as protected from American intelligence gathering in part because of his status as a US resident, according to the sources.


It was only after his death that US intelligence agencies began searching their archives and uncovered material suggesting the Saudi royal family had been attempting to lure the dissident back to the country.

Khalid bin Salman issued a vehement public denial of the reports, insisting that his last communication with the journalist was by text message in 2017.


"I never talked to him by phone and certainly never suggested he go to Turkey for any reason.

"I ask the US government to release any information regarding this claim," he added.

The disquieting thing is almost 3/4 or these extortionists are from the North and I hear these things dont happen in the north.
The Igbos on the other hand encourage it as they dont joke with their businesses..so they hardly protest it. hence, it has become a tradition.

The other time i tried to protest whereupon the driver told me point blank to shut up.
What would it profit me if because of N50, i lose N10,000?
And he was right.

Drivers and motorists are faced daily with unlawful extortion by the men of the Nigerian Police Force.


Drivers and Keke riders and forced to pay the force men of the Nigerian police force at different road blocks and checkpoint mounted for such purpose.


Here in Enugu city, it has become a do or die affair and motorists have taken it as part of their daily routine activities.

Policemen at checkpoints don't request for papers anymore, you would observe with disgust how they will stop stop vehicles causing traffick gridlocks, in the morning and evening collectin ₦50 notes from drivers, no one is spared except you have a green plate number or with latest brands SUVs with tinted glass.


I witness these occurrence on daily basis, here are the locations I've witnessed such.

1. Opposite Oando Filling Station, (New market), Enugu-Onitsha ExpressWay, Enugu state. (5:00pm-8:30pm)

2. Opposite Enugu North local Government Secretariat, Enugu state.(5:00pm -8:30pm)

3. Prisons round about, Enugu state.(5:30pm -9:00pm)

4. Opposite Community Secondary School, Iva valley, Along Enugu-Onitsh Express Way (6:00Am-9:00Am)

5. Ogbodogwu, Before Phase 6 Junction. (6:00Am-9:00Am, 4:00Pm-6:30pm)

6:All Saints Bustop, Before Polo Park by Shoprite (6:00pm:10:00pm)

These and many more are locations I've personally witnessed police unlawful extortion of Motorists within Enugu city.


If you regularly ply this roads, you would notice this ugly trend amongst policemen,

1. Threaten Motorists: they will threaten motorist,(especially keke riders), to delay them for 1hour if they dont cooperate with their demand. You would hear them loud and clear saying this. To avoid this unnecessary delay that could lead to the discharge of their already boarded passengers itching to get home after a stressful day's work, would just pass a ₦50 note onto the out stretched hands of a policeman who would scrutinize the money to be sure its the supposed amount.

Those who confront them with complete vehicles papers would be delayed and made to lose their passengers while those who may not even possess papers at all would ply the comfortably with just ₦50.

2. Policemen now offer "change" to motorists: Yea, they give change those with higher denominations, if you have just a ₦1000 naira note, just give it to them and they would gladly give you ₦950 naira in smaller denomination.
They do this with such contempt that you an outsider who just stepped into the country would believe its a norm to offer $$$ to the policemen

3: They dont search except you dont pay : if you have a human skull in your boot, just give out ₦50 and you are free to go, no checking of papers and Irregularities. If you dont pay, all passengers aboard in your vehicle would be searches thoroughly, if nothing incriminating is found, they will just delay you asking unnecessary and annoying questions like ; your paper will expired next month, why has it not be renewed? Etc

3. They will break your windscreen, side mirror, head lamp or rear lights : If you want to form "maja" by slowing and booming off, almost immediately to avoid offering their stipend, sorry for you,l. An officer in infront will destroy any part of your vehicle in reach.



All these are done to compell drivers to pay without delay .

This is stealing

Back to op, the truth is that the SE is more united politically than the SW.

In Nigeria today, religion has taken over politics, and the Yoruba's are always at crossroads, therly would split vote along political lines, while the Igbo's have common vote along religious lines.

There is no party dominance among the Yoruba's at the federal levels, hence thy will keep splitting their votes.

The Igbo's can deliver 99.99% votes for a single [presidential] candidate but the west can do that, the highest they can boast is 49.99/51.01 percentage vote split ratio.

Kwankwaso was one of the strong PDP-turned-APC pillars Buhari leveraged on to win 2015 but he was not accused or charged of corruption then.However the reverse is the case today.

So the worries are:
-1).Why is did Buhari suddenly remembers this now after more than three years on the saddle?
-2).Why didn't he report this alleged criminal diversion of state funds for personal use to relevant prosecution so that he can be summoned/arrested, prosecuted, convicted & punished accordingly since Kwankwaso is no longer under immunity but even contested & won a senatoral seat under the APC then?
-3).If the president have no answer to the afore questions, can Kwankwaso now due him libel and defamation of character?

Buhari have proven himself time and over again to be an intolerant, divisive, hypocritical & vindictive character never fit to preside over a multi-complex country like Nigeria.

Guess this development should now serves as a warning to Nigerian politicians to stick to their political ideology irrespective of the odds? As no all that glitters on the other side of the political divide is always gold.

I find that ignorance of this information of how trully difficult this thing is, is what makes naija-based boos not ask the right questions and so determine whether or not to keep it moving.

Folks in Naija hear "he/she got a Visa" and automatically think "we shall both relocate".
I mean sure, it could mean so for the person with the visa, but not so much for you.
The visa-holder needs to go to certain countries without any baggage to actually survive the relocation.

Most people think " his/her visa is our visa" with the notion that once in yankee, things will be green.

They forget that after relocation, then comes settling down, they will end up waiting desperately and recline to thiet fate with the famous slogan, "had I known...let me just move on..."
