It's difficult to break a habit, it takes time so you have to be patient with yourself. The first step to change is accepting there's a problem, this you have done, good job

Now you need motivation, I'll suggest you get busy to get distracted, pick up a hobby such as reading or painting if you can

Give yourself some distance from alcohol, try weaning yourself if you can't quit cold turkey. Basically if you drink "x" amount of alcohol now then reduce it to "x-1" until you no longer care for it

Don't condemn yourself, you're living and learning, we all are

Thanks for your genuine reasoning, I've tried to stop masturbatinggg some time ago but I found myself into it back after just a month success.

For motivation, I read, both fiction and non fiction literature but this has dropped some months ago.. But I'll be trying out the suggestions I've had here..thanks
