Asphalt on the other hand will require periodic maintenance. It is cheap on the short term but expensive in the long run. You can't compare the compressive strength of concrete to any other material in road construction.

So there is a large difference between asphalt and concrete both in terms of cost and durability. If you have the money I'll recommend concrete roads. Do it and go to sleep without worries of potholes!
