Hello Nairalanders. I need your opinion. My uncle is a medical director at a big hospital here in Nigeria. He relocated back to Nigeria about 8 years ago after practicing as a medical doctor in the US for over 20 years. He discusses issues with me from time to time. This morning I was in his house and he was asking me to advice on which car to buy for himself for his 60th birthday. He asked which car should he buy between 2022 Lexus LX600 and 2021 Mercedes Benz G63 AMG. He said the G63 could have been an easy choice but he is concerned that Mercedes Benz might redesign or face-lift the G class by next year when they release the electric G class. He doesn't want to spend N200m to buy a car that becomes old model in one year. The LX600 on the other hand is Lexus flagship model and new design. He also talked about the new Range Rover but he said Range Rovers are not as reliable as Mercedes and Lexus which is a fact. Abeg help me choose because I was confused and didn't know how to advise him. Mr and Mrs Osewa? Really? Seun don marry and NL family did not know. It’s not good oo. We are your extended in-laws. |
Melap:You feel hurt because I told you to stop thinking about puts food on the table only. Your responses showed that my point hit you well. Use your mind. This life does not start and end in your stomach. PS: Go study about research grants. People get over $1m in research grants. My is little because it’s the first. With the results from this, I can apply for more. Only people who use their brains know about this. There’s no grant for eating food. That’s why you know nothing. |
Melap:Chill boy. I’m currently on a $90,000 research grant, right here in Nigeria. I don’t think of food first. I think of making a positive contribution during my time here |
Melap:This mentality of “does it put food on the table” is a curse to third world countries. It is this mentality that sets the black man back. Does it put food on the table? It’s the same reason Nigerian civil servants won’t perform their duties if they don’t get bribed. Nigeria Police won’t respond if you don’t mobilize them. People won’t do what they are supposed to do unless you give them change for food. When people of other countries think about new tech, medical breakthroughs, improving the climate, the cursed people in third world countries will not do a thing unless it puts food on the table. Unhealthy food at that. Basically carbohydrates 247. I am grossly irritated by this mentality. As you read this, look down at your stomach. I believe you have a pot belly. So you came to this life and your own contribution is to eat and grow pot belly? |
