Adamu Mu’azu, national chairman
of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), has resigned his position, a source within the party has confirmed to theCable.

The source said although Mu’azu’s
resignation had been “effected”, the
party was still holding on before
issuing an official confirmation.

Calls to the cell phone of Olisa Metuh, national publicity secretary of the party, were unanswered, just as a text message to the number was not replied.

Mu’azu has been out of the
country on a medical trip, and it is
uncertain when he will return.

Calls for his resignation had been
gaining momentum since the dismal
performance of the PDP in the
general election.

Prominent among those calling for
his resignation are Ayo Fayose, Ekiti
state governor; Babangida Aliyu,
governor of Niger state; and Sule
Lamido, governor of Jigawa state.

Fayose is particularly of the opinion
that not only did the PDP national
chairman ot do enough work for President Goodluck Jonathan to win
the presidential election, he also
worked for Muhammadu Buhari of
the All Progressives Congress (APC),
winner of the election.

On different occasions, Muazu had
insisted that he would not resign,
assuring the public that the PDP and
its national working committee
(NWC) were in harmony.

He was suspected to be sympathetic
to the the cause of the opposition
candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, and
the failure of the PDP to win in his
home Bauchi state appeared to have
worsened the relationship between
him and the president.

Contrary to reports that the Edo State
Governor’s New wife, lara Fortes was a top model and a former Miss Cape Verde, Adams Oshiomole has come out to debunk such claims.

Speaking at their wedding thanksgiving mass held at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral,
Auchi on Sunday, May 17, Oshiomhole said lara may have the look of a model, but she was never one.

<em>“When I read newspaper stories and they say that Comrade has married a ‘top model’ I’m like maybe it’s another person. The lady that God has directed to my path and heart to marry is not and was not a model. Of course, she looks beautiful and I understand that is why people assume that this kind of a lady must be a model but of course, she is a model in my heart and we hope and pray that we will be models in the heart of our God and I think that is the most important thing,”</em> he said.

The Governor added that marrying Iara will never be a replacement for his late wife Clara, who married him when he was nobody.

Oshiomhole said,“I ask you to please continue to pray for us. It is not easy. I lost my first wife and it is not possible to replace her. Yes, I have married another but it is not a replacement. You cannot replace a wife especially one you married when you were young and you were anonymous. Nobody knew you from anywhere, you had nothing, no car, no house; now, that you can never replace but I understand that under the Catholic doctrine I am entitled to have another wife which is what I am trying to do.”

“Thank you for your prayers, support and blessings that you have always showered on me and the one you conveyed this morning on me and my new wife and we ask for more and more prayers that this marriage will be my last and that God will help us, to unite us and bond us together with the blood of Jesus”
