A former top military general has been jailed for life for corruption in China, the latest in President Xi Jinping's anti-corruption drive in the armed forces. Guo Boxiong, 74, was a vice chairman of the powerful Central Military Commission and used his position to seek promotions for others and of accepting bribes. He stepped down in 2012. Last year, the government said it would prosecute him for graft and stripped him of his rank of general. The official Xinhua news agency said in a report also carried on the Defence Ministry website all of Guo's 'illicit money and materials' had been confiscated and turned over to the state. Guo Boxiong, 74, was a vice chairman of the Central Military Commission until he stepped down in 2012 President Xi Jinping has led a major anti-corruption campaign since taking office nearly four years ago. Hundreds of thousands of officials have been disciplined as part of the drive. Guo's case was held behind closed doors as it involved military secrets, Xinhua said without elaborating. But sources told the South China Morning Post in April that Guo was prosecuted for accepting bribes worth $12.3m (£8.6m). As the commission's first-ranking vice chairman, Guo was responsible over a decade for the daily operations of the 2.3 million-member People's Liberation Army, the world's largest standing military. During that time, the military enjoyed large annual budget increases, fueling competition for potentially lucrative control over funds, units and support functions such as construction. Some top generals are reported to have accumulated stunning fortunes through corruption in both cash and gifts, including golden statues of Mao Zedong and cases of expensive liquor stacked to the ceiling in secret underground caches. The news agency said he abused his position to help others with promotions and took 'massive' bribes, either on his own or in connivance with others. Guo admitted to his crimes, expressed regret and accepted the judgment. He would not appeal, Xinhua said. A commentary carried on the Defence Ministry's website said the fight against graft was a 'life and death' struggle for the military. 'Corruption is the greatest threat our party faces, and is the top killer of the military's fighting ability,' it said. Former Chinese military leader Guo Boxiong has been sentenced to life in prison for accepting bribes Guo's son, a major general, Guo Zhenggang, was also under investigation last year. It has not been possible to reach either Guo for comment and it is not clear who their lawyers are. His case follows that of Xu Caihou, who was a Central Military Commission vice chairman at the same time as Guo, and died of cancer last year. Before their retirement, the men had been two of China's top military officers who served together under Xi's predecessor, Hu Jintao. Xi was also a vice chairman with Guo and Xu from 2010-2012, before he became head of the party and military commission chief. Sources have told Reuters that Guo is also suffering from cancer and the military had faced a quandary over whether to put him on trial, in case he died before reaching court, like Xu. |

A pregnant Ghanaian woman has committed suicide after finding her husband having sex with her own mother, who had also fallen pregnant by the cheating man, it has been claimed. The unidentified woman is understood to have returned home early from a shopping trip to find her husband and her mother having sex in the married couple's bed. Shortly afterwards the woman is said to have discovered that the man her mother's pregnancy was the result of her secret relationship with the cheating husband. Devastated at their betrayal, the pregnant wife is understood to have jumped from the roof of her apartment building, dying as a result of her injuries in hospital later the same day. Details of the tragedy were revealed by Inquisitr.com, citing several sources. It is understood that the woman's mother and husband had been having an affair for some time and that their secret relationship was only discovered when the wife caught them in act of having sex While still trying to come to terms with the double betrayal, the woman suffered further humiliation when she learned that her mother had actually fallen pregnant as a result of the affair. Shattered by the news, the woman decided to take her own life - despite being pregnant herself. According to a police report seen by Inquisitr, the woman actually survived the initial leap from her apartment building but died later in hospital as a result of her injuries. There remains some confusion over exactly where the woman's alleged suicide took place, however with most reports claiming a local police report confirmed it happened in Ghana. Meanwhile Nigerian news site Pulse claimed the woman actually took her own life while the family was on a visit to a country somewhere in Asia. The case has sparked intense debate on social media in West Africa after some commentators criticised the woman for committing suicide, while others said she must be viewed as the victim. The tragic story comes just months after a Zimbabwean woman named Tsitsi Zhou-Usiku discovered her mother having sex with her businessman husband in the village of Madhau. Erina Zhou, 40, and son-in-law, Tsiku Usiku, 51, later appeared in court charged with adultery. Can a man be sexually attracted to every woman around him? In my opinion "NO", but if you think otherwise, I guess you need to be examined! |

I believe you're right about songs not being in the music library, I also believe that is applicable to other mobile ecosystems. But you can always download these songs by yourself Infomizer: |
Dimples192:Woulda sounded more just had you termed it domestic violence against "men" In as much as i agree with you that he reaped what he sow, but I'm not sure you would say that if the table was turned around. My point is exactly is... regardless of the gender, evil is EVIL !!! |
Blackbeauty:In as much as you are entitled to your opinions, i want to quickly give some reverts to your points; 1.Truly, the bluetooth is useless with devices of other ecosystem, nonetheless, you can download the songs, share pics via socia media e.g bbm, whatsapp etc 2.Ofcourse you can download songs and videos, all you need is to download TDownloader from the appstore. for pfd files, it opens directly, but if you have issues, then download Officesuite from the appstore. (both apps are free) 3.You can sync your iPhone with with any pc at any time, once you know the tricks 4.Hmmmmmm.......... Your opinion! 5.Agreed, ** Data usage is same, it largely depends on your setting, you can verify that. **You can have your own customized ringtone if you want |
Dimples192:Turn the table around, you woulda termed it domestic violence against women |
Even though I am an igbo , I can’t say for sure that igbo ladies are special cos my few experience with igbo ladies were terrifying, probably I have been mingling with the wrong ones tho… ...But in all honesty, a huge percentage of igbo ladies are light-skinned, and are tend to be attractive, hence, “maybe” that’s one special attribute the OP is referring to ![]() |

@ColinAdua @killjoy @LordReed My opinion... 1. We're too different to live together: To some extent, your comments are right, nonetheless, every relationship whether with male or female, family or friends, you need a lot of patience, tolerance, understanding, endurance, compromise etc to survive…lest the relationship won’t progress. 2. Love doesn't exist: This is highly debatable, basing your argument just on your experience is certainly not a good reason to conclude that love doesn’t exist, you are just 1 out of 7.125 billion (2013) world populations. “Ohhhh how women react to the smell of cash” yet men are more involved in money ritual. 3. You don't need a child: In as much as I agree with you that getting married just to have kids ‘maybe’ disastrous, I want to reckon with Genesis 9:7. Can you confirm that it was Mother Theresa’s choice never to have a child? Thank God Einstein has kid(s), you woulda used him as another example! Adoption is not bad, but baby mama is debatable. 4. There is absolutely nothing new marriage has to offer you: Yes we belong to a family, and Yes our mother loves us but paying your maid well is not a guarantee that she won’t disrespect you nor steal from you, A bad wife may steal from you tho. Every other comment about sex is right, I guess. 5. Marriage is expensive: Marriage might be expensive, but there are millions of career women, in some families, the wife is the breadwinner whiles the husband lazy around. Saying “Most ladies don't have plans of making money (some stop after getting married).”Sounds like a statement in the 18th or 19th century. Apart from marriage, there are plenty of life issues that can drain you emotionally; Mood swings are not particular to any gender O! Abeg!! 6. It may end up in divorce: Sooo true, most points are valid! But staying single is NEVER a guarantee for happiness. 7. You get to focus on your dreams without distractions: As much as marriage can be a distraction, Marriage can also be the breakthrough needed. There are a million and one life issues that can and will distract a man, (depending on so many factors). Note: My OPINION!! |
killjoy:My kid nephew is just 3 years old ... I would assume you deliberately ignored "But someone who's telling me about God shouldn't be using words like fvckin" SHAME ON YOU ![]() |
LordReed:LMAO.... But your friends(the OP and his supporter) could claim they're no bishops. Nonetheless, you have spoken well *thumbs up* |
LordReed:Bro, The Bible NEVER stated whether Paul was married or not. Some think that he was at one time based on what he said in 1 Corinthians 9:5, "Don't we have the right to take a believing wife along with us, as do the other apostles and the Lord's brothers and Cephas?" Paul also declared that he had the gift of celibacy in 1 Corinthians 7:1-7. So Ask these preachers if they have similar gift? There's a recent arguement amongst the theologiests, that Jesus got married and even had two kids. ..but we certain can't dwell on that because it wasn't stated in the bible. I beleive that not every event that happened in those days were recorded in the bible...In my opinion, what was recorded are only scriptures relevant for man's guide to the life God demand of us. |
ColinAdua:Tanx for the arguement tho...its a learning curve for me,nonetheless u too quote bible but we know too well that's by no chance any indication of righteousness |
killjoy:Point noted,God is more interested in me...tanx for reminding me. But someone who's telling me about God shouldn't be using words like'fvcking'. As for quarell, i'll ask my kid nephew if he's interested,as for me..No Time! Paedophile!!! |
ColinAdua:I need to get ready to watch footy, but in the mean time, stop spreading false stories. |
ColinAdua:Indeed you're truly deluded. Don't read for the sake of reading, read to understand. You can stay single for all i care but telling others why they should remain single is utter delutional. You have a friend who's pastor, that's no body's biz...you coulda frame up stories to support your lame opinion, but for sanity sake, keep them to yourself and stop spreading false stories. God forbid that i understand a retard like you, lest i'll be infected with same mental illness. You're indeed a product of 'setback' looking for whom to drag along with you...i nor dey abeg !! #enoughsaid |
In as much as i agree with you that he reaped what he sow, but I'm not sure you would say that if the table was turned around.
leave it if its nt OK for u! Abi any body point gun to head say make u no near woman
