No team is complete from defence to attack, there's always a weak spot so, Ole has no excuse. We have a back 4 that can rival any team in the league, a midfield 2 that are good enough to start for any team in the league, the only concern is the DM position where Ole is expected to earn his stripes by setting us up in a way to cover for that deficiency. In attack, we can hold our own against any team in the league.

If you don’t have a good squad depth and your competition does and also have a good manager, na luck you go take win the league- unless you have a genius manager.

Your chances of winning are as good as your depth squad- compared with your competitors.

United having the most expensive starting XI is just a statement. It doesn’t mean that they have the best squad. It would’ve been better to scrape off like 2-3m from the purchase of each player and get a good, capable bench option.

Your starting XI might win you games but your squad depth wins you the league.

When Pep lost the league to Klopp, he went and bought more defenders. That’s where he had problems. And Ruben Diaz won him last season’s EPL title.

At that point Rashford was given that contract, he hadn't done anything spectacular. Just been a good young player that could develop to be a huge star. There's a reason you don't give players at that stage those kinds of huge contracts.

All those decisions are affecting the club today. Rashford has been shit this season and his contract is up for renewal now. We'll have to renew the bumper contract of an underperforming player. Other option is to sell him for a low price. Cuz no club will come in to pay 70m for him, then pay 250k in wages.

If Martial was on 120k-150k, we'd have sold him since. But with his present salary, we couldn't even get a loan fee.

That season Rashford got upgraded to 250k p/w, I still fail to see what motivated that kind of raise in his contract. It was just another average season. Shortly after that too, they gave Martial 200k for doing nothing as well. Before that it was Lingard.

That period, Woodward gave all the players with their constant shitty performances fat contracts & bonuses and made it clear to them that United was now a club where mediocrity would be rewarded. That's why those guys would be playing as if nothing was at stake.
