You can find your answer in points 3, 4, and 6. The problem started when you swapped from eSIM to a physical SIM. Most people around me who are having network issues are those who did a SIM swap. I’ve been telling people that if you want to enjoy your ODU, don’t swap from eSIM to a physical SIM—it’s a 50/50 risk. If you really want to enjoy your ODU, get another router SIM.
If U are getting more than 20mbps with normal Sim, that should tell you that your unlimited sim is the problem and not the odu or network
No oh. This problem has been since. Before I even got a physical SIM. It started on the 12th

Me swapping to Physical SIM was literally a last ditch effort when band locking, cell locking, moving it around didn't work. And Airtel themselves have proven unable to fix it for the past 10days now

I'm taking it there on Monday
If they can't fix it. I'm leaving the device there make they keep am

I seriously regret purchasing this thing. I so regret it. Worst purchase of the year
I'm already looking into alternatives

Mtn fibreX is not in my area but Ikonnect is. I'm going to do more research on that before making a switch

Take it to where you bought it. They should be able to find out what the problem is and probably fix it.

The new device, you'd have to pay for it, unfortunately. But you can keep the old one too if you want.

This particular ODU dey worry, but if I haven't tested my own Sim in it and it worked, I would have laid the blame on it alone. So, the device is not the problem. Although there may be something about it that makes some people who were baptized into the ODU kingdom through it to be having the most complaints, one of whom is my guy.

When you call customer care, what do they say? Have you taken it to the specific office you bought from, did they say anything useful? I will assume your location has terrible Airtel network but it seems you said somewhere that you have tested a normal Sim with it. If it is confirmed the sim is the problem, you should just go take another device and sim. They have a new ZTE device now, G5FA, a junior brother to G5F.
I've called cc if not 20 times now over a period of 10 days

My bro, Na 24 hours, 48 hours, Escalate to HQ, etc dem dey tell me. The latest one (as at yesterday) said another 24-48 hours

I'll go on Monday to where I got the device and complain, either I get it fixed there or I leave it there

You said something like get a new device, Would I have to pay for that or?

I need U to answer those few questions

1..Wat band are U on
2. Is Ur area a new site
3. Did you do a Sim swap from eSim to physical Sim or U registered a new hbb Sim
4.. have U tried inserting normal Sim card and browse with it
5. Do U have it mounted outside your inside
6. Do you get good phone signals on phone using Airtel sim
1. I've tried all bands (1,3, 7, cool All of them give me good network but the same speed at 1-2 mbps

2. I don't think my area can be considered a new site, It's at egbeda, Lagos side

3 I just did a sim swap from eSIM to physical today

4. Yes, It's goes fine at about 20mbs with my normal Airtel SIM.

5. Inside, But I've tried moving it around my house and area even to another street but same thing

6. Yes

Are you sure you haven't crossed 1TB?
At all, I thought it was that from someone's info before.

But my last plan expired on the 18 and I resubscribed. This is 24th I couldn't have used 1TB in a span of 6 days when the stuff barely even works

My last plan expired (. This is a new sub and I haven't even used up to 100gb

At this point i think it's from the number... Just manage it and when the sub expires just get a new SIM
Sigh

So I should just get a new sim and sub unlimited on it

But would I be able to get the ODU 5g plan?
Or is there another speed based plan I can pay for?

I've done the swap.
The person told me to wait till 7, o'clock before I put it in but I wanted to ask how long it usually takes.
Also does switching to physical Sim deactivate the eSIM?
Feedback on this😭😭
I've swapped it to physical SIM and I'm still getting the same speeds
1mbps

Guys I don't know what to do again

You will have to do a sim swap to physical
Yh thank you.
Must it be at an airtel office? Or can I go to like a kiosk and get it done?
Also will the current subscription carry over?

Then it's probably from your ODU SIM... Maybe try with physical( different sim) on your ODU
Yeah my normal SIM works well with fast speed

But what do I do now? I heard that I can swap the eSIM to a normal SIM do I need to go to an Airtel Office or can I do it Roadside and the plans and bundles would carry over?

Yes put on your normal Airtel sim with data test the ODU so that you can isolate if the fault is from the device
I put my normal SIM inside and it works. I'm getting the full speed. About 22mbps

What should I do now?

Use the normal sim on the odu... If it works that means your eSim is a having problem,
I don't think my ODU comes with a normal SIM. Just opened it to check now and there's no SIM inside

This can be very frustrating... Have you tried using another Airtel sim or check from anybody else using Airtel around your neighbourhood and confirm if they are having same problem
Normal Airtel sim works very well, After all that's my main provider

It's just this ODU that's giving me this issue

Sorry man. What I usually do is to contact them via twitter, they'll ask for router phone number, say it's not unique to you but a general network issue with ur area.

They'll ask u to fill out some details, then in about 48hrs u should be on. This has always worked for me.
Yeah I've contacted them on Twitter too back to back but nothing. They once even left me on read for days. Overall Airtel do me strong thing

I'm using the eSim.
Moving it to another street? I don't know if the cable is long enough for that

Aiit I'll try this. I've already tried moving it around my entire house, the only place I haven't tried is my roof so I'll do that today
Update on this

Nothing worked,
Moved it to the roof - nothing
Moved it outside - nothing
Tried every corner of my house - nothing
Band lock, Cell lock - nothing

And mind you this thing was going at 25mbps when I first got it

Either way this is the 12th day this thing has been going on had to subscribe on other devices for my work since the only thing the WiFi could do was stream.

I've called airtel each day within this 12 day period, kept on being told random deadlines from 24 hours to 72 hours to escalating to network engineer to escalating to HQ.

Within those 12 days no one from Airtel could tell me the reason until I managed to wrangle it out of one day before yesterday that apparently there's a packet loss in my area (Don't know how true that is or maybe the dude was just lying).

Currently I even think that they've marked my number because I called today twice, I escalated to supervisor twice then was kept on hold for upwards of 40minutes twice until the call cut itself. Had to use a separate number (Maybe I'm just paranoid tho)

Either way, I don't think I'll resubscribe for this. if when I pay for a 30 days subscription I'll only be able to use half before whatever this is occurs again (Although I was told that I'd be compensated when fixed but who knows). I've also reported to ncc (Don't know if that'll do anything after all na Naija we dey) and will post my experience on X cause I see other people experiencing the same thing

Unfortunately there's no MTN FibreX in my area so I'll just switch back to my previous ISP which is wifi.com. It's kinda just as slow but at least I get decent speeds towards the night and early morning.

Thank y'all for your tips and tricks that worked for you. Sadly it didn't work for me

Enjoy your day👋🏿

Focus on the 4g band... Unclick all the band .. and click on only band7 click on ok .. and check the network speed, when doing this make sure the odu is facing the Airtel mast if you are not sure if the mast location, you can move it around your house ...if band 7 did not work .. check the band one after the other

How do i check that? Maybe i'm checking out the wrong things

But based on the router, these are the only bands i can lock.

I tried that, Maybe i should drop more info

I've tried band locking each band one by one, The only one that got me some semblance of speed were the bands that forced my network to 3g, When doing so i got 11mbps thereabout but it was pretty incosistent, Those were bands 20, 28, 38, 41
This is my speed at 3g vs 4g/5gNSA

try moving your ODU around but as long as your previous subscription expired then your speed should be back to normal unless network is bad for your side now
Ok my bro, Although I don try moving it around still the same speed all round

I got in contact with another supervisor about 3 hours ago, She said that she will escalate it to Airtel HQ (Don't know how true that is) and I should wait 24 hours, that she assures me that it will work so I'm waiting on that now

Yh for me it's still useable, I just can't download with it. I'm still able browse decently and also watch videos on multiple devices at 720/1080p most of the times and lowest on 480p. And truthfully that's mostly what I do with the service

I was just mostly worried that when I do want to download something I won't be able to and also because according to my info that's not what I paid for.

But it's all good, Hopefully it resets and that's the issue not something more
Update on this

Omo e be like say Airtel don scam me finish 😭.
Resubscribed today, No change in speed at all
I've called
Texted
Back to back to back

Just the same we're working on it. At this point they should just come and carry the device because I don't even know again.

Has anyone managed to fix this? Or I should just look into MTN fibreX, I tried their form and saw my area but didn't see my street, still want to call to cross-check tho
