In every family there's these uncles and aunts who knows nothing about you, they don't even know your name sometimes or how you survived into adulthood but feels you owe them allegiance whenever they see you.

first off I know it's an African thing to always respect people older than you, and before you crucify me I am also an adult now with his own adult life, I keep to myself and I don't force people to respect me as respect is earned.

A family member died and we all came back for it, coupled with the holidays, the whole extended family was present including some of those in diaspora, I'm an introvert so I keep to myself, I generally greeted everyone when I came and sat in my corner.

Then there's this useless Cockatoo who drank free beer until his brains froze, first he kept talking about yahoo boys, how they dress a certain way, how they do all sorts to be rich, how they kill people to be rich, they both with soap gotten from herbalist, they don't go to work yet they're living fine, they have cars at a young age etc.

Now when you're talking and you don't call my name trust me I won't answer you. Even if it's obvious you're talking about me, and from all indication this man was talking about me, one my mom is dead, two I earn online and don't physically go to work, third I am not begging I'm doing okay, but I still didn't pay him any mind, then he indirectly started talking about how they don't respect people enough, he was so pained for some reason and condescending.

Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (retired) is a distinguished Nigerian naval officer who served as the 22nd Chief of Naval Staff from July 2015 until his retirement in January 2021.

Early Life and Education:
Born on September 27, 1960, in Nko, Cross River State, Nigeria, Ibas began his education at Nko Primary School and later attended Big Qua Primary School in Calabar. He completed his secondary education at Hope Waddell Training Institute, Calabar, between 1972 and 1976. He also holds a master's degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Naval Career:
Ibas held several key positions within the Nigerian Navy. He served on various naval ships, including NNS Ruwan Yaro, NNS Obuma, and NNS Aradu. His leadership roles encompassed Commanding Officer of the Nigerian Navy Underwater Warfare School and Forward Operating Base Ibaka. He also served as Naval Provost Marshal, Principal Staff Officer to the Chief of Naval Staff, and Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command. His tenure as Chief of Naval Staff spanned from July 2015 to January 2021.

Awards and Honors:
In recognition of his service, Ibas has been awarded several prestigious honors, including the Silver Jubilee Medal, ECOMOG Medal, Forces Service Star, Meritorious Service Star, Distinguished Service Star, and the General Service Star. In October 2022, he was conferred with the Nigerian National Honour of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Personal Life:
Ibas is married to Theresa Ibas, and they have three children. His personal interests include reading, watching documentaries, and playing golf.
