After I updated my hp laptop from windows 7 to 8, my battery doesn't last after fully Charged ( also it doesn't warn for battery low be4 offing)

Type "msconfig" after clicking start button and press enter.

Go to startup tab and disable programs you don't need to automatically startup.

Also go to "services" tab and uncheck those services you don't want running automatically except you initiate them.

I am getting a little bit worried about my
laptop. It is taking a very long time to shut
down(the screen offs but the power light nd fan are still on). I didn't install anything new and the
longest i've waited for the laptop to shut
down is 30 minutes before I long press the power button for 6sec.

When you got to the partition section what did you do?

I could not get the boot cd so I am installing it directly from my system (someone copied the file to my system through flash drive)

You'll need a windows 8 bootable cd

1.Insert it in the cd drive and restart the system.
2. Boot the system from cd, try f2,f10 or f8 or f11
3.Follow the installation prompts
4. On getting to where you'll be asked to choose partition: just select the partition your windows 7 is currently installed and install the windows 8
5. Follow the installation prompts to end
6. The former windows files would be moved to a windows.old folder in your drive c, from there you can copy back your files to the newly installed windows 8

Ok. Do this, play the game, while it is one

Press "ctrl" + "shift" + "esc"

Go to "performance" tab and check the memory indicator and cpu usage indicator are they full?

Also you can try reducing the numbers of applications running when you are playing the game.

Reduce the resolution you are playing it in (by the way, what's your laptop specs?)

For the modem
Uninstall the software completely
(If you have revo uninstaller make use of it to uninstall every trace of it)
Then reinstall it and connect the modem.
It should work

my laptop spec is 3.00 RAM, processor AMD E-350, 1.60 GHz, 64bits

My pes 13 always crack while playing it (it slows down) and also I suddenly removed my modem while connected to the internet, since then my laptop has refused to recognise it when I plug in the modem (Airtel modem)
