Finally, speak with a financial planner. Tell them your goals, and ask them for their suggestions – this is what they do! A good financial planner can easily help you determine where to invest your funds, and help you set up a plan to reach all of your financial goals. Many will even teach you about investing along the way – make sure you pay attention to what they are telling you!

One of the easiest ways to make money online is by buying something for a low price and selling it for a higher price.  It is even better when you don’t need to pickup or ship a product.  Today I’m going to talk about how to make money online by flipping domain names and how I personally have made tens of thousands of dollars in the past year doing this.
There are many places and ways you can purchase domain names.  You can purchase unregistered ones through sites like GoDaddy.  There are forums where people will gladly try to sell you their domain name (usually though the domains being sold in forums are either crap or the asking price is so high it does not allow you any room to flip the domain).  And then there is my favorite way of obtaining domain names, through an online auction at Namejet.  Let’s first talk about Namejet and then we’ll talk about how I personally ring the register by flipping domains.
Namejet is a domain clearing house (at least that is my term for it).  What happens is that people let their domain names expire everyday.  Some people just don’t need their domain anymore, some people forget to renew it, some people die, I mean there can be hundreds of reasons why a domain will not be renewed.  What the domain registrars want to do is cash in on the domain that someone forgot to renew, so they offer that domain to Namejet to auction it to the general public.  Think of it like a storage unit, someone doesn’t make their payment and the storage company hires an auctioneer to come and auction the storage unit to the general public.  Namejet is doing this but for domain names.  The bid for each domain starts at $69.  What I LOVE about Namejet is the process…  they let you search through the domains that are coming up for auction 30 days in advance.  Whoever places a $69 bid on a domain will be entered into an auction when the 30 days runs out with everyone else who placed a bid.  If you are the only bidder than you get the domain for $69.  If there are 10 other bidders than there is a closed auction, meaning only you 10 guys can bid now against each other in a 3 day auction with the highest bidder taking the domain when the clock strikes zero.  I love this because let’s say there is a great domain and it flies under the radar.  If it goes to auction with only 3 or 5 or 7 bidders my chances of winning this domain at a very low price are great.  I’ve won domains for $100 which I was able to flip for $2,000.  I won a domain for $2,500 which I flipped within 4 months  for $7,500.  I won a domain for $1,000 which I’ve turned down $5,000 offers on because I think I can get $10,000 for it.  The key is to not overpay in order to leave yourself plenty of room to turn a profit when you flip the domain.
The first thing you need to do is signup at Namejet in order to get your account (signup is free).  You can then use their search functionality to sort through all the upcoming domains for auction.  Place bids for $69 on the ones you want to go to auction for.  If you bid on 100 different domains for $69 each, and there is 50 bidders for each auction you need to understand you aren’t going to owe any money, you are not committing $6,900 to Namejet.  By entering that $69 you are getting an entry into the live bidding when the 30 days expire.  Only if you are the ONLY bidder on a domain would you automatically win the domain and owe $69 to Namejet.
So what are some strategies to finding great domains to flip?  Well, the first is to find quality domains.  There are some sights that publish a daily list of good upcoming Namejet auctions like here: http://www.tld.org .  This is an easy way without having to search to find some great upcoming auctions to bid on.  If you have the time you can search Namejet yourself.  The key is to making money by flipping domains is to find domains that other people will want.  If the 30 day window period just started on a domain (for this example let’s say it was Anticareer.com) you could use Google to search for ‘anticareer’ and ‘anti career’ and see if you can find people who own sites that may be interested in this domain.  Email them and ask them if they’d have an interest in purchasing the domain Anticareer.com.  If you get some bites you can then go and bid on the domain and if you win it you can flip it right away.  Once you get some experience it will be easy for you to spot the domain names which you can quickly and easily flip and you’ll also develop a good feel for what price you should pay to make yourself the amount of profit you want to make

Respectful persistence wins sales.
3) Photograph & Signature. Scan a groomed, smiling photo of yourself and your a penned signature. This adds that personal touch to let your audience know you are a real person.
4) Audio. Do you have a nice speaking voice? If so, combine this with your photograph and signature to humanize your website and establish rapport with your audience.
5) Blog. A blog can be an add-on to your main website or be used as a free alternative to a website, at least until you are generating profits. You can combine every aspect of name branding mentioned in the above points into your free blog. Update your blog at regular consistent intervals with content specific to your vision. Refrain from writing about off topic content so as to keep your message and theme consistent. One way to keep your readers posted about your content is to use RSS feeds.
6) A Domain name. You can register a domain name and forward it to point at your Blog. Use the domain masking feature that allows your website to have a professional look.

If you are completely new to blogging and the concept of making money online. To make things easier for you, I will summarise the steps you need to take here and it won't be too long before you are making a decent income online. Who knows, you could be the next professional six figure blogger!
Remember, the steps outlined here are to develop your blog into a proper, money making business and not just a “hobby blog” which will not need anywhere near as much effort or commitment!
If you are ready to make money, let's go over this killer 12-step plan to success one last time.


1. Decide what you are going to blog about. Are you going to create a blog about yourself or one on a specific niche market? Getting this right straight away will narrow your focus and keep your mind on track.

2. Register a Domain Name & Arrange Hosting. Try and get a .com domain name if at all possible and try to register as memorable and brandable name as possible. To register your domain name I recommend GoDaddy and for hosting, Hostgator.

3. Install Wordpress. Wordpress is fast to install, user friendly and very flexible. Make sure your permalinks are SEO friendly and install some plugins to make your blog experience that much better.

4. Add a Blog Theme. You can find a free theme but for a really professional look, I always opt for a paid premium theme. My blog uses the Streamline theme by Brian Gardner, while Woo Themes also have some great paid options there.

5. Set Up a Mailing List. You need to start attracting subscribers to your list immediately and don't worry if your blog is not established. Set up an email list with Aweber and plug the subscription form into your blog. Offer a free ebook as an ethical “bribe” to entice people to sign up to your list. Remember, you can give this ebook away if you do not have
one of your own!

6. Write Your First Blog Post. Now your blog is set up, you need to get some content on there. If you can, write 5-10 high quality blog posts which will become your “pillar content”, essentially a showcase of what you have to offer your new readers. This initial content will allow your readers to like you, get to know you and more importantly, trust you!

7. Keep Writing! People hate blogs which are not updated regularly. If you start writing 23 blog posts per week, then continue in that manner! Draw inspiration from other blogs and forums in your niche for new content ideas and invest in 31 Days to Build a Better Blog by ProBlogger Darren Rowse. There is never nothing to write about so there is no excuse for letting your blog go stale!

8. Sign Up for Twitter. One of the easiest ways to drive traffic to a new website is via a Twitter account. Link your blog in the bio of your Twitter account and follow people who are interested in your niche. Very soon you will be able to create a large following of people who will be interested in what you have to say! Remember to follow me on Twitter and I will follow you back!

9. Connect With Other Blogs. Try to add value to other peoples blogs and this will be reciprocated many times over! Find other blogs in your niche and leave high quality, insightful comments on their posts. You can of course add a link back to your blog. You can also contact the blog owners and offer to write a guest article for their blog or perhaps come up with some other ideas for collaboration.

10. Get Yourself Out There. As well as Twitter, you can brand yourself on Facebook, Youtube and other video sites, submit your content to social media websites such as Digg, Reddit and StumbleUpon, submit articles to various article directories and collaborate with like minded blog owners on podcasts and webinars. Pretty soon your brand will increase and people will start to notice you popping up everywhere!

11. Promote Affiliate Products to Your Email List. It is widely accepted that every subscriber on your list is worth $1 per month but that is not going to materialise if you don't contact them! You should contact your list frequently and don't worry about people unsubscribing – you only want people on your list who WANT to be contacted by you. Find
high quality affiliate products at Clickbank and later, those offered by other blog owners you will get to know in your niche and let your email list know about them. Remember, people like to buy things but do not like to be sold to, so use a “soft sell” approach.

12. Work on Your Own Products. Longer term, you also want to develop your own products to either give away as an incentive to get people onto your mailing list and also higher ticket items to sell to them. It is a good idea to get on the mailing lists of other people in your niche to see what they are promoting and selling. You should also email your list and ask them what they want then create a product to sell to them.
