In a bold move to reposition Cross River State as a leading tourism destination in Nigeria and West Africa, Governor Senator Prince Bassey Otu has approved the release of N18 billion (approx. $11.2 million) for sustainable tourism development across the state.

This investment, part of the Governor’s “Season of Sweetness” agenda, targets the revitalization of major attractions including Obudu Mountain Resort, Kwa Falls, Marina Resort, and the Tinapa Business and Leisure Resort. Key hospitality and creative assets like Amber Tinapa Hotel and Studio Tinapa will be remodeled, while a new pier harbor will unlock waterfront tourism.

The government is also launching “Experience Calabar” tours and establishing a Heritage Market to showcase local arts and crafts. A strategic investment in Axari Towers will boost accommodation ahead of the 20th Calabar Carnival in December 2025.

To improve access, two CRJ 1000 aircraft will join the Cally Air fleet, complementing existing Boeing 737s. The Calabar International Convention Centre and Cultural Centre will also be upgraded to enhance conference and event hosting.

Governor Otu described the initiative as “an investment in our people, our culture, and our future,” aimed at stimulating the local economy, creating jobs, and deepening private sector participation.

Liverpool and Portugal forward Diogo Jota has died alongside his brother, André Silva, in a car crash near Zamora, Spain in the early hours of Thursday morning, the Civil Guard told the Associated Press. He was 28 years old.

The Portuguese Prime Minister Luís Montenegro and Portuguese FA also confirmed the news.

The Spanish civil guard confirmed to The Associated Press that Jota and his brother were found dead after their car went off a road near the western Spanish city.

Police said they are investigating the cause of the incident. They said there were no other vehicles involved.

The news comes just weeks after Jota married his long-term partner, Rute Cardoso, with whom he had three children.

Jota made 182 appearances for Liverpool since joining from Wolves in 2020. He lifted the Premier League title in May, having previously won the FA Cup and two Carabao Cups in his five years at the club.

He began his career at Portuguese side Paços de Ferreira and also enjoyed spells at Atlético Madrid and FC Porto.

I have this neighbour who rented a room and parlour self con
But the kitchen in their flat is very big as a family of 5 with plenty friends

They converted the kitchen to a Room and starting bringing their plate to the back of my bedroom window to wash

If you hear the noise of plates n pot u will pity me I can't sleep cos of constant noise n fight very loud, the whole noise feels as if it's happening in my flat.


Sometimes this plates and pots smells like a dead rat and I will be force to close my window.

I have begged this family severally to to wash their plates inside their flat but I will never listen rather they will be throwing tantrums.

Recently they made it a permanent place of washing plates n pots

So I had to involve the landlord and he asked them to stop

Since they the entire family have been in their flat insulting me calling me names.

Am becoming very uncomfortable

Right now I don't know what action to take cos I don't want to respond to any of this insult

How do I put an end to this .
