The purpose of the Agriculture Competitiveness (AgCompete) Project is to strengthen agriculture productivity and profitability of smallholder farmers in Nigeria.

The primary responsibilities of the Knowledge Exchange Lead include:
Developing and implementing a comprehensive knowledge management strategy to build AgCompete’s internal and external knowledge capture and dissemination.
Developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy to build AgCompete’s profile and promote the program’s successes among stakeholders, including potential grantees, donors, and staff, agricultural technology experts, and the broader public.
Ensure ongoing communication with a broad network of current and potential commercial partners.
Developing innovative technology infographics that visually describe how each funded technology addresses a critical obstacle faced by smallholder farmers in Nigeria, in conjunction with Fintrac’s Home Office Communications Department.

The minimum qualifications for the Knowledge Exchange Lead are:

Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, international development, or a related field required.
At least three (3) years of experience writing, editing, and preparing promotional materials, including basic desktop publishing. Experience working for USAID or in international development a plus.

Ability to streamline and organize processes and operations in line with the program’s leadership priorities and goals.
Ability to analyze, summarize, and reproduce data collected by AgCompete’s Impact Manager.
Highly skilled in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; basic familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
Ability to work in an open, creative, multi-cultural atmosphere on time-sensitive projects.

The Nigerian Communication Commission, the regulator of the telecommunication industry in Nigeria, supports amongst other things, telecommunications-based innovations, inventions and research from tertiary institutions in the country that are practical, locally realizable and have clear potential of developing the telecommunications industry.

Pursuant to this objective the Commission invites proposals from academics in tertiary institutions that have feasible research ideas capable of replacing or enhancing foreign technologies in the telecommunications industry in Nigeria. It is envisaged that the initiative will help build capacity in the tertiary institutions and promote Nigeria's contribution to the pool of technologies in use in the communications industry.

REQUIREMENTS
Interested researchers are invited to submit their proposals which must:
Come from teaching academics in Nigeria's tertiary institutions; and
Have a one-page executive summary of the research proposal to include relevance of the research to the telecommunications industry.


EVALUATION CRITERIA
The criteria for the evaluation of the research submissions include the following:
Adherence of proposal to stated requirements above.
Clear statement and explanation of the problem.
Proposed solution to the problem.
Novelty of the research proposal (comprehensive literature review to bring out clearly the novelty of the research).
Proposed approach and methodology.
Proof of concept (feasibility of idea with diagram, algorithm, etc).
Clear relevance to the telecommunications industry.

Cost reasonableness (cost of actualizing the idea excluding furniture and allowances).
Schedule of project organization.
Coherent presentation/packaging of concept. Integration of research with education (capacity building of students via the implementation of the project in the institution).
Evidence of competence of term in executing the project (include past work and CVs of team members).


SUBMISSION OF PROPOSAL
Submission will undergo preliminary assessment. The proposals that are adjudged promising and capable of developing the telecommunications industry will be further evaluated by another level of assessors.

Sponsors/authors of research submissions may be invited for defense of their proposals before a decision is taken on whether the Commission will fund their project(s) or not.
