It's like football/other sports and endeavors. You can be a footballer that is so good, so good that virtually everyone in your area knows you are the REAL DEAL. But if you don't play on the acceptable world stage like in EUROPE elite leagues you can't be known as world class. Example : Victor Osihmen. Imagine is he was playing in Spain, England etc.

So these universities enhance the economic and social outlook of their graduands. A Convenant university graduate can be more educated than a Harvard grad, but a Harvard grad has more exposure and opportunities worldwide than the local champion.
