Na Money spraying dem Wan use disqualify us 😅
Osaguy:
In a devious ploy to undermine the integrity of the electoral process, Governor Godwin Obaseki and his political protégé, Mr. Asue Ighodalo, have resorted to hiring roadside thugs disguised as civil society actors to harass the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo.

The Senator Monday Okpebholo Campaign Organisation said it has uncovered the clandestine operation of these unscrupulous individuals masquerading as a Civil Society group, lacking a known address in Abuja.

This group, purportedly named the “Network of Civil Society Organisations in Nigeria,” convened a sham press conference on Monday, calling for the arrest of Senator Okpebholo over a deepfake video in circulation.

Director of Media and Publicity of the Campaign Organisation, Mr. John Mayaki, expressed dismay at the degeneration of the polity where fake groups operating on behalf of the PDP candidate engage in such reprehensible acts without any genuine accountability.

Mayaki said, “Upon investigation, it was revealed that the alleged office address of the so-called civil society group at Banex Plaza was a fabrication, with the actual occupants being Dipas Raven Limited, a medical equipment repair shop.

“Further scrutiny revealed that the group had no credible online presence, raising suspicions about their authenticity and motives. This blatant attempt to discredit Senator Okpebholo through fabricated allegations reflects the desperation of Governor Obaseki and his camp to secure victory by any means necessary, including resorting to baseless accusations and blackmail.

“The Okpebholo Campaign Organisation remains steadfast in exposing such deceitful tactics and upholding the integrity of the electoral process”, Mayaki said.
PoliticsRe: Lost Opportunities: Edo State's Economic Decline Amidst The Absence Of Foreign by esoheidehen: 7:20am On May 05, 2024
We can't afford to still put these people back. We need change
Akpakomiza2:
In a recently released report, the National Bureau of Statistics revealed the state of foreign direct
investment in Nigeria. It was disheartening to learn in the report that 18 out of the 36 states in
the country failed to attract any foreign investment between 2021 and 2023. Among these states
is Edo State, under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki. The dearth of any foreign
investment in Edo State is a clear indicator of the lack of progress and gripping economic
mismanagement under the current administration.
It is imperative to address the glaring issues of lack of focus, creativity, and gross incompetence
that have characterized the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration, leading to the
stagnation of Edo State's economic growth. The absence of foreign direct investments in the state
speaks volumes about the failure of leadership to attract and retain crucial investments necessary
for sustainable development.
Governor Godwin Obaseki has fallen short in steering Edo State towards economic prosperity.
While boastful of a team of "brilliant minds," the results of their governance paint a stark contrast
between rhetoric and reality. What they say they are is at crossroads with who they really are. The
penchant of the current leadership of Edo State to talk more than their advertised capacity can
handle, has left Edo State floundering, with promises unfulfilled and potential untapped.
The so-called brilliance within the administration has failed to translate into tangible benefits for
the people of Edo State.
As we approach the next election cycle, it is crucial for the people of Edo State to consider the
future of their state carefully. The failures of the current administration should serve as a wake-up
call for voters to demand better governance and leadership that prioritizes the interests of the
state and its people above all else.
We beg to ask where the brilliance of the economic team of the Obaseki administration is hidden.
As things appear, it impresses the discerning mind and lover of Edo State to see through the
smokescreen, and that what is being peddled as performance in real, actual terms is nothing but
repetitive failure disguised as deceptive grammar yet having no real impact on our brothers and
sisters in hundreds of communities across the state.
In conclusion, the lack of foreign direct investments in Edo State is a clear reflection of the failure
of leadership under Governor Godwin Obaseki. The time has come for the people of Edo State to
rise up, demand accountability, and vote for change. Edo State deserves a brighter future, and it is
in the hands of the citizens to make that future a reality through their votes and actions.

*Edo 2024: APC Ward Chair in Uhunmwode resigns, cites incompetence, lack of credibility of party’s guber candidate, deputy*

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Uhunmwode Ward 2, Daniel Noah Osa-Ogbegie, has resigned from the party, citing the incompetence and lack of credibility of the party’s governorship candidate for the 2024 gubernatorial election, Monday and its deputy, Dennis Idahosa.

In the letter of resignation made available to journalists in Benin City, the APC Ward Chair said his conscience could not allow him, and his ancestors would not forgive him if he joined in enthroning such an incompetent leadership.

Osa-Ogbegie noted that with the emergence of Okpehbolo and Idahosa, he was convinced that the APC was neither serious about the election nor interested in presenting viable governance to Edo people.

The letter reads: “I, Daniel A. Noah Osa-Ogbegie, Esq. hereby tender my resignation from the APC today.

“I am an Edo-centered person who believes strongly in an Edo renaissance driven by Edo people under a sound and correct leadership. The candidate of the APC in the forthcoming governorship election does not fill me with confidence as that leader that can lead the Edo renaissance I have always wanted.

“With this dour governorship ticket of the APC, it was clear to me that Edo APC was not serious about the election or was not serious about presenting viable governance to Edo people or both.”

He added, “As an honorable man, instead of working against the candidate of the party as a member, it was better for me to resign my membership of the party, as I cannot in good conscience campaign for the ticket of Senator Monday Okpebholo and Representative Dennis Idahosa. My conscience could not allow me and our ancestors would not have forgiven me.”*Edo 2024: APC Ward Chair in Uhunmwode resigns, cites incompetence, lack of credibility of party’s guber candidate, deputy*

PoliticsRe: Edo 2024: The Real Story Of Foreign Investments In Edo State. by esoheidehen: 7:17am On May 05, 2024
No be all this talk talk, where can we verify all this claim
osaosa72:
*Edo 2024: The real story of foreign investments in Edo and why APC, Mayaki can’t see beyond their nose*

It is election season again in Edo State and the hawks and purveyors of hopelessness and despair are on the loose. They are scurrying to find a sweet spot to exploit the candidates in the September 21 gubernatorial election, writing disjointed pressers in an attempt to justify their pay from overlords who seek to upend the gains made in Edo State in the last eight years.

Hence, it is not so surprising to see that a defanged penpusher, John Mayaki, who has been disgraced publicly for trading in lies and falsehoods in previous election seasons, has taken on the job of media handler for the All Progressives Congress (APC). He has returned to his rusty pen because he has found people to pay him to tell baseless lies and embark on ill-fated propaganda.

As it has become a tradition for him, he has kicked off with the same old script of peddling lies, falsehoods and half-truths. With a candidate who had to opt for a ‘miracle centre’ to obtain High School certificate at the age of 36, the APC has elected to parley Mayaki to do their bidding, seeing that they can’t run the election on facts, credibility and sound reasoning.

The target this time is to rewrite the story of investment inflow into Edo State, premised on a curious report that had said that the State had attracted zero foreign investment in the last 3 years – a rather curious discovery.

The report would have given one sleepless night except that it is not true and doesn’t reflect the reality in Edo State. Perhaps, one would say that Edo has been one of the busiest states for investors in the last few years. The State has attracted big-ticket investors that have led to the expansion of the local economy.

The total inflow of investment into Edo State for the past 8 years is capped at N5.6trn. One of the biggest investment windows is the Edo State Oil Palm Programme (ESOPP), a N700bn investment outlay attracted to the State for the development of over 70,000 hectares of oil palm plantation across Orhionmwon, Ovia South West and Ovia North East, Uhunmwonde, Owan West Local Government Areas of the State. The project has been described as the biggest oil palm development programme on the African continent.

Some of the companies investing in the ESOPP programme include Dufil Prima Foods, which has Singaporean-Indonesian origin; Fayus Inc., an America-based company, Flour Mills of Nigeria (FMN), among others. These companies are replicating the Okomu Plc and Presco Plc marvel by developing expansive plantations in the State and employing thousands of workers. Aside from cultivating oil palm, some of them, like Dufil Prima Foods, are investing in an integrated farm, which also features an ethanol plant.

Other investors in the state include Radisson Group of Hotels, which is building a 170 key hotel in Benin City. Although the government is involved financially in the project, the group is also making commitments to the building project, which will transform the hospitality and tourism sector in the State.

Another key investor in the State is Mota Engil, a Portuguese international group, which has emerged as the preferred bidder for the Benin River Port. The company is set to move to site to commence construction of the 300,000 TEU port project in Benin.

Also, the Ossiomo Independent Power Project is the product of an earlier partnership between a local company and CCETC Power, a foreign company. The 6600 barrels per day (bpd) Edo Modular Refinery was also birthed through a partnership with AIPCC Energy, which has a Chinese origin. The slew of foreign investments are testaments to reforms undertaken to open the space up for private capital either from within or outside the country.

It is not surprising that the APC and Mayaki cannot appreciate the import of attracting investment because that is not how they reason. They are more concerned about fleecing the people, eating the ‘seed yam’ and empowering non-state actors to unleash mayhem on hapless citizens.

For Edo, it has been a story of an avalanche of investments in the last eight years. The companies, plantations and factories that have been set up are testament to these. The fruits are already sprouting. The efforts to rewrite this feat by emergency historians will amount to naught.

Edo people know better and will not be deceived by efforts of charlatans to market a bad candidate in their quest to return to government to serve their selfish ends. Not only are they blinded by greed, the APC and Mayaki cannot see beyond their nose, which is why they are incensed by the progress recorded in Edo in the last eight years.

So you will rather vote for the same party that has been in power for over seven years without meaningful development over someone who has experience and is willing to work

*WHY ESAN NATION REJECTS THE CANDIDACY OF MONDAY OKPEBHOLO*

*By Hon. (Comr.) (EKPENUWA)*
*President, Esan Agenda World Wide & Edo Coalition Movement*

.........We believe in equity, fairness and justice. We want our brother, Senator Monday Okpebholo should focus on his senatorial position, while our brother, Dr. Asue Ighodalo to be in Osadebe House as a Governor. If we don't do this, our movement for equity, fairness and justice will be defeated.

*The people of Edo Central gave Senator Monday Okpebholo grace votes against Senator Clifford Ordia, because of the Ebakota principles, which states that no legislature goes beyond two tenures in Edo Central. It has always been.*

And again, we have decided to continue with the principles of equity, fairness and justice for Edo Central to produce the next Governor of Edo State. Therefore, we are not going less. Since you are in the Senate, Akpakomiza, remain in the Senate. We the people of Edo Central are not known to be selfish. We have a viable and strong leadership structure of inclusiveness. You can't be the one to thwart it.

Akpakomiza! Hmmmm. When you were contesting for Senate; you didn't tell us that your ancestors came from Esan North East. Are you no longer from Esan Central? Wetin!

There are other salient reasons why we reject Senator Monday Okpebholo AKA Akpakomiza:

*1.* Senator Monday Okpebholo has not addressed our questions on the 200 million naira for Christmas palliatives, which he refused to release.

*2.* The Senator has not told us where he kept our 5 trucks of rice for Christmas palliatives.

*3.* The Senator should give an account about our Constituent projects funds, amounting to billions of naira.

*4.* The Senator should tell us the number of youths he has empowered within 10 months of his inauguration as a Senator.

*5.* The Senator should tell us the numbers of bills and motions he has sponsored or moved at the floor of the Senate.

*6.* Senator: where is your profile?, Etc.

Edo Central cannot go for less, rather we are intellectuals and we believe in the best to be elected the next Executive Governor of Edo State.

Please, our dear brothers and sisters from the other Senatorial Districts; kindly go through the above and see whether our conscience will judge us right if we don't reject Senator Monday Okpebholo's Governorship ambition.

If you don't have conscience, attack my write-up.

I stand bold to tell you that as the President of this long struggle for Esan to produce the next Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo is not qualified. Kindly vote against him since he wants to fight against what brought him into power as a Senator.
WE IN EDO STATE WILL REJECT HIM IF HE CAN'T EXPLAIN ALL THIS...

*EKPENUWA* writes from the Headquarters of Esan West.*
