This is a very interesting topic. Resigning when you're fulfilled is ok to sit and grow your investments but if you're getting old and nothing to show for it, leave and get something else to do. Especially this second category. I have not seen anyone who left who is not doing better and none of them is regretting leaving. They picked options with potentials and doing way better than remaining in civil service. The civil service of today will drain you with nothing to show for it. Its dead. Who does not know this? People who have that old mentality of doing business and doing the job side by side are not conscious that the inflation level in Nigeria doesn't make what you earn from both sides make sense anymore. Until you all leave this web called civil service before your eyes will be clear. Go and ask those who left and doing better and regreting why they didn't leave earlier. I don't know what you people are on and about. Some people even retired after 35years as 13 or 14 or assistant directors, they look like paupers after wasting good years they could have used to explore better places and businesses on doing business and working in civil service.

Lol....MIVA is way better. In terms of organisation, quality of staff, support for students etc. Just ask anyone in this uni. Remember the first set of graduates from this Uni will be having their convocation in a few weeks and will be the first to be issued degrees from this uni. Before you can complete a WES evaluation, this degree needs to be awarded and a paper document to accompany it. As long as the uni is accredited by the Federal regulatory body in home country which is NUC in the case of Nigeria, it will appear on the websites of evaluation bodies and accepted in foreign countries at some point. If you know the calibre of persons handling Miva you'll understand they do not settle for less in terms of reputation and recognition. The school is superb!

I watched the video... apparently shot in the Principal's office The father can be seen sitting ... guess the mother was sitting next to him off camera ..and the son standing behind the mother filming. The teacher is across the room facing the camera and explaining the encounter. The video began at the point where the teacher said he slapped the boy... the back story is not on the recording. He then said the boy pushed him and that was the reason he slapped him again. The teacher is a bit on the tall side .. like a footballer ..a bit lean. The father is a bit taller .. muscular .. heavyweight boxer type . At this point ..the teacher is speaking softly.... with remorse .. the father gets up ... calmly walks across to him and suddenly deal him a heavy overhead right hand slap immediately followed by a heavy left hand uppercut slap. The mother then jumped into the picture to beat him with words. Meanwhile .. the son is adding narration ..."beat am ..beat am." From the tone of voice ... this son is no little child... the voice of one who is at or past puberty .. has bass tones. The mother at this point.. after circling .. swooped in and landed her own heavy slap on the teacher who showed no intention of retaliating.

From the video .. my position is the teacher started the whole thing by slapping the student. Whatever the student did ... that was not the way to go. If he couldn't manage the boy..the matter should've been taken to the principal ..and if need be.. the parents needed to be informed. Maybe then the parents would've shown up and the beating unleashed on the boy instead. This should be a reminder to teachers that students have parents and not all will allow their children to be abused and do nothing.

Which one is the man walked up calmly to the teacher. He spoke angrily, walked up to the teacher but the slap was what I didn't expect. It was out of way especially because the teacher had apologised. Now the bass voice you heard isn't the JSS2 students voice. Its the Principals voice who I personally know and can recognise even from sleep. Don't be typing trash and saying what you don't know. Worst still the Principal didn't make any attempt to stop the man from hitting the teacher .The woman's anger was prompted by she not knowing Mr Makundu was recording the incident. This is also totally wrong from the Principal. Its was an internal crisis. Why record people without their consent? Its a right violation. Then posted on external platform(social media). Afterall they're not the students attending Starville. It was the fact that the woman realised they were been recorded and the Principal shouting to beat the teacher more that infuriated her which was also wrong for her to have joined in the slapping scene. Watch the video again.
Now my biggest blame goes to the Principal. Immediately the man slapped the teacher, he should have ran towards the man to stop him. What if the teacher passed out and died or something? Principal will be accessory to this incident.
Now the school suspended teacher(meaning school accepted he was wrong and the trigger) and expelled student(also school believe he was wrong too). The school should've sacked the teacher and also expelled the student to create a balance. Afterall the teacher was the trigger from the word GO. Both cause and effect should've received 50percent each punishment! Simple! Even the Principal beats too. Its not new in this school. How won't the teachers slap and beat when Principal does same?
The school's policy on discipline needs immediate review to cover up the gap of physical contact during discipline. There are actually worse punishments than beating or slapping...lol!
However in all, everyone was wrong.
Student...wrong; parents ...wrong; teacher....wrong; school....wrong. Its a case of four wrongs don't make a right!
