SELFISHNESS, ingrained in their minds through slavery, is one of the major ways we can continue to contain them. One of their own, Dubois said that there was an innate division in their culture. A “Talented Tenth” he called it. He was correct in his deduction that there are segments of their culture that have achieved some “form” of success. However, that segment missed the fullness of his work. They didn’t read that the “Talented Tenth” was then responsible to aid the Non-Talented Ninety Percent in achieving a better life. Instead, that segment has created another class, a Buppie class that looks down on their people or aids them in a condescending manner. They will never achieve what we have. Their selfishness does not allow them to be able to work together on any project or endeavor of substance. When they do get together, their selfishness lets their egos get in the way of the goal. Their so-called help organizations seem to only want to promote their name without making any real change in their community. They are content to sit in conferences and conventions in our hotels, and talk about what they will do, while they award plaques to the best speakers, not the best doers. Is there no end to their selfishness? They steadfastly refuse to see that “TOGETHER EACH ACHIEVES MORE (TEAM)! They do not understand that they are no better than each other because of what they own. In fact, most of those Buppies are but one or two paychecks away from poverty. All of which are under the control of our pens in our offices and our boardrooms. Yes, will continue to contain them as long as they refuse to read, continue to buy anything they want, and keep thinking they are “helping” their communities by paying dues to organizations which do little other than hold lavish conventions in our hotels. By the way, don’t worry about any of them reading this letter, remember, ‘THEY DON’T READ!!!!’ (Prove them wrong. Please pass this on!) Letter By Rachel Lakhi

GREED is another powerful weapon of containment. Blacks, since the abolition of slavery, have had large amounts of money at their disposal. Last year they spent 10 billion dollars during Christmas, out of their 450 billion dollars in total yearly income (2.22%). Any of us can use them as our target market, for any business venture we care to dream up, no matter how outlandish, they will buy into it. Being primarily a consumer people, they function totally by greed. They continually want more, with little thought for saving or investing. They would rather buy some new sneakers than invest in starting a business. Some even neglect their children to have the latest Tommy or FUBU. And they still think that having a Mercedes, and a big house gives them “Status” or that they have achieved the American Dream. They are fools! The vast majority of their people are still in poverty because their greed holds them back from collectively making better communities. With the help of BET and the rest of their black media that often broadcasts destructive images into their own homes, we will continue to see huge profits like those of Tommy and Nike. (Tommy Hilfiger has even jeered them, saying he doesn’t want their money, and look at how the fools spend more with him than ever before!). They’ll continue to show off to each other while we build solid communities with the profits from our businesses that we market to them. P.S: Concluding part comes in tomorrow

Blacks Don’t Read This is very deep, and unfortunately, very true! This is a heavy piece and a Caucasian wrote it. THEY ARE STILL OUR SLAVES We can continue to reap profits from the Blacks without the effort of physical slavery. Look at the current methods of containment that they use on themselves: IGNORANCE, GREED, and SELFISHNESS. Their IGNORANCE is the primary weapon of containment. A great man once said, “The best way to hide something from Black people is to put it in a book.” We live now in the Information Age. They have gained the opportunity to read any book on any subject through the efforts of their fight for freedom, yet they refuse to read. There are numerous books readily available at Borders, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon.com, not to mention their own Black Bookstores that provide solid blueprints to reach economic equality (which should have been their fight all along), but few read consistently, if at all. GREED is another powerful weapon of containment. Blacks, since the abolition of slavery, have had large amounts of money at their disposal. Last year they spent 10 billion dollars during Christmas, out of their 450 billion dollars in total yearly income (2.22%). 1. Set a goal for yourself While you're reading, set a goal for yourself. This way, whether it's to complete Chapter 2 or read till page 120 can help you stay focused. Knowing how close you are to completing your task might motivate you to keep reading until you reach your goal. When you have a goal in mind, it is simpler to concentrate and go through the material faster. 2. Put your phone away. We all have smartphones, and it can be difficult for many of us to put them down and concentrate on other things. It's difficult to resist opening an Instagram notification that appears while you're reading. Place your phone away from you when you sit down to read a good book. 3. Take a Break You don't have to read nonstop for an hour. Take a 10-minute break every 50 minutes. This little break gives you and your brain a chance to relax. If you don't take breaks when reading, your mind may be less efficient. While reading, following a cycle can help you train yourself to focus better, get more out of your reading, and build a working pace that is easy to maintain. What strategies do you adopt to stay focused when reading? #getpublished #manuscripts #editing #aspiringauthor #author #publishedauthor

Fiction and non-fiction are the two main types of reading. Fiction allows you to escape reality and immerse yourself in the realm of the imagination. Nonfiction — It broadens your intellect to new heights, from knowledge to philosophy. Non-fiction is the reality, while fiction is a fantasy. By reading a blend of fiction and non-fiction , autobiographies, fairy tales, you may build your thinking and forge your own opinions. READING BROADENS KNOWLEDGE knowledge is the key to success. When you read, you begin to save information that may be useful later. You can learn stuff that you wouldn't know only by reading. It enriches your mind with a wealth of knowledge and information, allowing you to stand tall in the presence of brilliant minds. Reading newspapers and articles broadens your knowledge while also influencing your thoughts and opinions. READING IMPROVES CONCENTRATION AND FOCUS Reading allows you to disconnect from the outside world. It's as if you're immersed in every detail you read, which improves your focus and concentration. Your mind need more knowledge and focus, which can only be obtained by reading. Now, if you claim you don't have time to read, reevaluate. Reading has the same effect on the mind as breathing has on the body. Make a commitment to yourself to read for at least one hour every day. Devote time to content that is knowledge-based, such as articles and newspapers. #getpublished #manuscripts #editing #aspiringauthor #author #publishedauthor

1. Reading opens you to new vocabulary. You are exposed to more words the more you read. Your vocabulary develops when you learn new words, understand their meanings, and actively use them in your discussions and writing. When I come across a new word in a book, I take the time to look it up and learn what it means. I then jot it down in my notebook along with its meaning. This has been quite beneficial to me, particularly in terms of writing. When I need to use new vocabulary, I just look up the words in my notebook. Every opportunity I have to use the new words that I have learned helps me remember the word. There is no better way to expand your vocabulary than to read books. 2. Reading helps you prepare for a restful night's sleep. Reading before bedtime helps your brain associate reading with sleep. This can help you fall asleep faster and prepare you for a good night's sleep. Reading slows down your heart rate and relaxes your muscles, allowing you to have a decent night's sleep. Before going to bed, read for at least one hour. #getpublished #manuscripts #editing #aspiringauthor #author #publishedauthor #reading #readgreatbooks #readbooks

1. BRAIN EXERCISING Reading is not only exciting if you know what you're searching for, but it also benefits your mental health by keeping your perception and analytical thinking skills strong and preventing complacency. You activate your brain and increase intellectual capability by concentrating on the words, the flow; this is why reading is so good for everyone. Reading on a regular basis not only enhances your critical thinking skills, but it also improves your brain function. Consider what happens when you exercise a muscle on a daily basis. That muscle improves your motion range, endurance, and other abilities by growing and becoming much stronger than before. Reading books may have a similar effect on your thinking. Consider how many people suffer from Alzheimer's illness nowadays. While there is no treatment for dementia, research has shown that reading and other mental exercises can help to prevent or delay it. 2. BROADER MIND Books will help you see life in a new view. Reading about a particular culture, for example, can assist you in comprehending how these people differ from you. You may not agree with everything they believe in, but at the very least, you'll see things from a different perspective. Reading books are amazing, they can assist you in expanding your vocabulary, honing your writing and language skills, improving your memory, and ensuring that your brain is in perfect working order. The books you choose should be based on your personal preferences and aspirations. Whatever path you take, you can rely on the many benefits of reading to benefit both your mind and body. #getpublished #manuscripts #editing #aspiringauthor #author #publishedauthor #reading #readgreatbooks #readbooks

When your writing space is a mess, it saps the energy you could be spending on your writing. The words flow better when you develop an energetic book writing workspace. It stimulates your brain in shifting into 'word-making mode.' When you sit down at your desk, your brain recognizes that it's time to write. Ignoring this could result in issues of low writing output. The easiest method to avoid writer's block is to set up a good writing atmosphere. For an effective writing space, you'll need the following things: ◾ Keep your workspace free of distractions. ◾ Make sure your desk is surrounded by books. ◾ A comfortable chair and a desk Ergonomics are essential for effective writing. You can't concentrate if you're uncomfortable. You won't want to write if you acquire neck problems from glancing at your laptop. What does your writing space look like? Do you feel inspired to write when you're there? #getpublished #manuscripts #editing #aspiringauthor #author #publishedauthor

READ A BOOK Reading is the most effective technique to improve your writing skills. Pick up the nearest book and read if you don't feel like writing. It will improve your writing skills and provide you with ideas that will prompt you to begin writing immediately. ASK QUESTIONS Ask a friend, send a message, or look up things people are asking to see what you should write about. Whatever feedback you receive, you must write about it. Even if they don't have any fantastic ideas, write about what's going on around you. WRITE ANYWAY Who cares if you're not in the mood to write? This isn't a good reason not to write. Consider all of the other things you don't want to do in life; if you didn't do any of them, you'd probably be miserable right now. Still struggling to figure out what to do when you don't feel like writing comment below and we'll talk about it #getpublished #manuscripts #editing #aspiringauthor #author #publishedauthor

1. WRITE WHEN YOUR BRAIN IS CREATIVE Some of us are early birds and others are night owls. It’s important to know your daily cycle and when your brain works best creatively so you can maximize your writing output. See if you can find a pattern, and when you do, work your schedule around writing during that prime time. When I don't feel like typing or writing I dictate them into my phone. I might even dictate whole paragraphs or sections of text if I’m working on a book or blog post. When I'm less busy I transcribe the audio. 2. SET YOUR PHONE IN AIRPLANE MODE My phone is the worst distraction ever. Even though I have most push notifications turned off, I find myself constantly checking it. Before I know it, I’m scrolling through my Facebook or Instagram feed. So, when I really need to get some writing done, I leave my phone on airplane mode. This really helps my productivity. How do you make yourself focus when you’re writing? #getpublished #manuscripts #editing #aspiringauthor #author #publishedauthor

Passive income is any money earned in a way that does not require too much effort. Depending on the amount of work you do on the front end, this could be a little extra cash every month, or it could completely replace or even exceed the income you make from your business. THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE EARNING PASSIVE INCOME 1. Usually it's not entirely passive While it is true that passive earnings are generally much less work than active earnings, some effort will still be needed, ahead of time. 2. You may need to try a number of different strategies before you find one that works. When you create your first passive income stream, you're probably going to be super excited to see what's going to happen with it. 3. You're going to need multiple streams to make things work. It's rare to find a successful business owner who has only one passive income stream. Most successful business owners earn passive income through: Online courses Affiliate marketing A podcast Book and eBook sales Ads on niche websites I hope you write your book and share it with the world. #getpublished #manuscripts #editing #aspiringauthor #author #publishedauthor

THROUGH QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK Look around you. I'm almost certain there are a lot of questions in your niche you would love to get answers to. Search for those answers, and once you get them, put them into a book for others who are still searching. People ask questions in order to get clarity on some issues. Every one of us at one point or the other must have been confronted with issues that kept us seeking for answers or solutions. When people ask questions it could be as a result of their present state or events beginning to unfold around them. So, when answers are provided to questions, we get more enlightened and we increase in knowledge. #getpublished #manuscripts #editing #aspiringauthor #author #publishedauthor

SOURCE OF FUTURE CONTENT Do you know you can develop your book into a brand that can create different kinds of content? Remember "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", "7 Habits of Highly Effective People", "Think and Grow Rich"? These are just a few examples of books that have gone on to become brands on themselves and has created constant cash flow for the authors. Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki has created an empire that employs hundreds of people. Some of the other content that you can derive from your book are: Workbooks Short Courses Training/Coaching guides Audio books or Podcasts Speech Notes, etc. Your book opens up a lot of revenue opportunities for you. Having a book of 10 chapters that addresses one issue per chapter gives you the opportunity to create 10 or more audio courses, 10 or more speeches, 10 or more workbooks, etc. You can just pick up a chapter from your book and develop it into a source of income for you. Either way, you can settle for a "big book idea" by asking yourself two basic questions: Question 1: What one question/problem do I want my book to respond to? Question 2: Who is my audience? Answers to the questions above will give you all you need to create your big idea. For example, let's assume your book wants to answer the question: "Why don’t the average Nigerian trust the government?" That's your big idea on which every other anchor of your book will be built. The different chapters might answer questions like: What is trust? What is trust in government? Do other countries trust their government? Did Nigerians ever trust their government? When did the mistrust start? What caused it? What is the present situation? What's the projection for the future? Is there danger in the mistrust? (For who/whom)? Any remedy for the situation? The fact that your book will answer all these questions does not mean that any of them will be your big idea. All are geared towards explaining the big idea. You get it now right? As for your audience, that helps you know how you will construct and tailor your message. #getpublished #manuscripts #editing #aspiringauthor #author #publishedauthor

I AM NOT QUALIFIED TO WRITE A BOOK. Myth Buster: EVERYONE IS QUALIFIED TO WRITE A BOOK. See, there is no human on Earth with your unique experiences and knowledge. Those unique experiences and knowledge are all it takes to write a book. That's what the world needs. Perish the thought that you have to be some form of an expert in a niche before you can write a book. Most of the accomplished authors you hear about now were not experts when they started, now they're experts. This is a myth and an illusion that every author in the world thought to themselves at the early stage. For some professionals, they call it the "impostor syndrome". This is a situation where you feel you're not qualified to be where you are. Let me ask you one question: Do you know at least one individual in your niche that is more successful than you are, but you know you're more intelligent than the individual? If you answered yes to the question above, then you deserve to write a book. If you answered No, then your book is long overdue, because you need to teach the world your skill of living in a bubble. No two ways around it. It's not rare for humans to struggle with "impostor syndrome, “believing that they're not worth their success or that they're not qualified to help anyone because there are others out there with more experience and competence. But when it comes to writing a book, your unique experience is worth it. You are you, and there is no one else who has had your unique experiences. There is no one out there who has lived your story." Note: You don't have to be an expert to start, but you have to start to become an expert. #getpublished #manuscripts #editing #aspiringauthor #author #publishedauthor

USE WORD TO TEXT One of the most important aspects of technology advancement is that there are now options to use talk-to-text to even write a book, and not just write a text message. Google Docs has a superb diction program that lets you put your words on the page. Here's how you can use the Google Docs diction: • Open a new document in Google Docs Go to Tools • Select "Voice typing" • Make sure that your microphone is working • Press the microphone that pops up on the left side of your doc and start talking. This is all there is to it. This way, those of you who can speak faster than you type and are audible can write a book faster with this approach #getpublished #manuscripts #editing #aspiringauthor #author #publishedauthor

We want titles that are catchy, provocative and unforgettable. While your book title clearly tells readers what the book is all about, the multi-faceted subtitle's job is to talk about the detailed benefits that readers will receive from your book. Don't look down on the power of subtitles. It can do so much for your book, and it can complement your book title as well. So, let's find out how you can tap into all these benefits. A subtitle is just a subheading that allows you to add more information to it and thus bring home the real point and benefit of your book. SELECTING A GOOD BOOK SUBTITLE Be Specific, Be Bold Think of the subtitles as a small, aggressive salesman selling your book to the general public. Your subtitle is an opportunity to tell potential readers exactly what your book is going to deliver. Don't waste that chance by being indecisive. Step 1: List all benefits in the book The first step in building a solid subtitle requires you to articulate all the benefits that your book will have on your readers. We're going to break this down. Imagine a book about saving and investing more. What are all the benefits a reader would take away from reading this book? Ideally, readers would learn to minimize their spending, keep more money at work, be better off in business, buy things in bulk, have more time to travel, get up early in the morning to take good care of their health because health is wealth. Now, try to apply this lesson to your own book. What are the unique benefits your readers will have from reading your book? List each and every benefit you can introduce. Use your imagination and write down even the smallest or most far-fetched ideas that cross your mind. #getpublished #manuscripts #editing #aspiringauthor #author #publishedauthor

Have you always wanted to be a published author, but don't know what measures you need to take to reach your goal? When it comes to getting a book published, there are several stages to take to ensure you not only get your book published but also make so many sales from book publishing because it is not enough to publish a book and no one reads or pays for it. Here are some significant steps to take when publishing your book: First, start writing your book. You don't need to wait till you get the perfect words, just start as soon as the idea drops. Don’t make the mistake of assuming that any book will do. Make a research on which categories are best-selling and what your audience is interested in. There are procedures you should take before sending your completed manuscripts to publishers if you have already written your book or as soon as it is finished. You should proofread your book, then proofread it again for good measure, also get a reviewer to help you review the books before final publishing. One more vital step to take is to never give up and stay focused. Get yourself surrounded by people that will keep giving you that positive energy. It's rare for a publisher to accept a manuscript on the first try, especially if you're a first-time author. But that shouldn't weigh you down. Have you ever tried writing your first book? And have you tried publishing before, what was it like and how long did it take you to get it published? . . Were there issues you faced in your first publishing? Share your experience in the comment section - let's discuss more on that to help you get better in book publishing. #getpublished #manuscripts #editing #aspiringauthor #author #publishedauthor
