There could be a variety of reasons for experiencing what you did. You may still want to run antivurs/spyware check on your computer just incase you have trojans, spyware, bots etc on it.

Could be one of the above but cant say unless I have the computer in front of me.

I try using this with my yahoo messenger didnt experience the problem but give it a go, worth trying

Go to Control Panel
Click on Mouse
In Mouse Properties Window click on Pointer Options tab
In the second group 'Snap To' - make sure that you uncheck this box: Automatically move pointer to the default button in a dialogue box.

click START > CONTROL PANEL > ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS

In the CURRENTLY INSTALLED PROGRAMS
click on the IM software giving problems and click on REMOVE and proceed by say YES/OK  to remove the software.

I think you can try restarting your computer. then directly download the software from the makers website

if it is yahoo, yahoo.com
if it is msn, msn.com
if it is skype, skype.com

Dont download through third party site

The worst part now is that I can no longer chat again immediately I click on the name of the person I want to chat with or if someone BUZZ me ,it closes back and if I try reopen it again it does the same thing.

The bottom line is that I dont know how to install it, if you can help me out I will really appreciate it
