I have been driving Lada Niva (AWD) in my free time out of the road. It goes ewriwhere but mechanic was my good friend

Dont know abought those new Kamaz trucks but those old are very much comparable with that Lada. Im my area they use them in stonepits and in mining business for short range transport.

Yes, that is really strange regulation. Here is only important that you dont go ower maximum permited weight of the vehicle.
Only thing that is very expencive is prepairing for shipping at the port. They wil take you 1000-2000 euro for those extra costs.
Sometime we are able to prepare ewrithing at my place so its inclouded in price of truck.
My main problem is to find those old trucks and buses becouse most of them is sold long time ago.
