I also went out yesterday to get a new phone and some books to read. Ended up getting only books. The phones are pretty out of my budget now. Maybe I will wait till black Friday. I took dome pictures of the place at night

Have been somewhat sick today. I guess it's as a result of the travel stress. Have not gone out today. Seems its only my bed that's warm in this whole America. For the information partaining to the interesting process of my visa acquisition, just take a seat, I will be on that shortly, definitely. The thread is just beginning. On the other news, next Friday is black Friday, everything will be basically cheap to buy, I don't even have any dollar to enjoy this year's Black Friday and I have an outrageous list of things to get same day. Equally, Thursday, 28th of this month will be Americans Thanksgiving day. From what I'm hearing, it would be a very great day. I'm earnestly waiting!! Just like the popular parte after parte song, this is turkey Christmas b4 chicken Christmas. |

I love food soooo much. And this place will basically be a dream place for me. I have been able to see around this new home, America has one major problem of having just too much food. Food here is just everywhere, work home street, and it's just the cheapest thing you can come by. So we came back from the airport to meet this extremely awesome kitchen. I simply don't know where to start from. I will kill myself with food here. In lasis's voice, "murder me with food". I think I will enjoy my stay here.

StrikeBack:. Put on your seat belt. How do you like your popcorn? |
queengift:Our visa application process was just like every other USA visa applications. Was not all rosy from start until it started to get interesting and then finally approved. Of you sometime want to leave Nigeria, you really need a lot of patience with the visa process. The embassies would try to break you. Get all you need ready and always be ready when they call on you. |
judithidoghogm:Thanks. Once it's your turn to jet out, you wouldn't even understand what is happening till you are out of this country |

DUBLIN TO WASHINGTON DC We took a different flight to Dublin for our connecting flight to washington dc. Adis ababa to dublin took us another 7hrs and 8hrs from dublin to washington dc even on a faster plane of over 830km/hr, did i forget to mention, i ate virtually everything they brought in during the flight, afterall, i paid for it all. we got served every 2hours first with the main dish of fried rice and chicken with some sandwich and biscuits and juice of choice to send it down. then they brought coffee and tea and then back to the main dish. I trusted my stomach not to disappoint and throughout the journey, it didn't. we finally landed washington dc after 21hrs of memorably intriguing flight.

Lagos to Ethiopia. We used Ethiopia airlines and as a result had to stop by at Adis ababa. this was basically my first time of using a plane, and I felt strong nausea especially during take off. I felt my head turning onionon. but still had to maintain that all was normal. flight to ethiopa was an enjoyable one. took us over 6hours to get to Adis Ababa at the speed of over 720km/hr. was afraid through the flight, so had to stay awake all through. watched some blockbuster movies from the small tv in front of my seat b4 retiring to the videos in my phone and then musics. The Ethiopians are really amazing people, and have consistently made a beautiful home out of their country. the view from the sky was glorious as everywhere was lighted up. They have a much more super airport compared to Lagos international airport and they are very proud of their achievements. I took some pictures before and after landing in Adis ababa |
If someone had told me a month ago, that I would be leaving Nigeria for USA, I would have considered it a very expensive joke. Following our successful visa interview, feels right to inform this amazing Nairaland family that my family and I have finally touched down Washington DC. This would be our new home for now. Feels refreshing to eventually leave Nigeria for good. It"s freezing cold here, would keep tabs of my daily experiences here in the USA on this thread, but before that, tips on how to survive this chill would most importantly be appreciated. |
