The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has stated that despite the postponement of the general elections, Nigerians are determined to vote out the current administration.

A 28-year-old man who was just released from prison, killed his wife and later committed suicide after accusing her of infidelity during his incarcaration.

Five people were killed in southeast Nigeria during clashes between supporters of the two main political parties, police said Monday, just days before a general election.

The victims who are members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), were shot and killed on Sunday in an apartment just before midnight in Effurun, Warri, according to the Delta state police spokesman, Andrew Aniamaka.

Last night, a tanker fully loaded with petrol exploded near the lodge of the Anambra State Governor at Amawbia junction in Anambra State.

The tanker was said to have skidded off the road. Afterwards, it fell down and burst into flames and as the fire raged on, there were speculations that some persons may have been burnt beyond recognition.

The Rivers state police command has declared a state of emergency on the East-West road over incessant killings, kidnapping and robbery of commuters who ply the Choba and Mbiama stretch of the road.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Office, has arrested five suspected internet fraudsters in Lagos and recovered N31 million from them.

According to a statement from the anti-graft agency, the suspects – Daniel Effiong, Paul Duru, David Gold, Eke Kelechi and Moses Gold were arrested following a petition received by the EFCC from a new generation bank.

A former elementary school teacher from New Jersey faces years behind bars after pleading guilty to aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

In 2015, Lauren Coyle-Mitchell, 36, who was teaching at the Dr. Lena Edwards Academic Charter School in Jersey City, took a 15-year-old school girl home so she could perform sex acts on the eighth-grader, the Bergen County Superior Court heard.

Teachers at the school contacted police and claimed she had inappropriate contact with the student during a class trip to Washington DC.

According to her indictment, Coyle-Mitchell performed MouthAction on the girl at least once between October 1, 2014 and June 15, 2015. They also allegedly had explicit conversations via text and email.
