The passion Nigerians have for football and sports is undeniable. The Twitter Premier League tapped into that passion and built on it to introduce an actual Football event where fans could come out to show their skills on the pitch. 8 editions and 3 years after, it's time for The Twitter Premier League to move to the next iteration in accordance with its original vision: The Professionals League. We know that private sector participation in football is the only way to introduce a grassroots programme funded by corporate bodies willing to put their talents and resources where their passion lies. The Professionals League will provide a platform for various professionals in different walks of life to express their childhood creativity/dreams in play, while opening the door to the much needed funding Nigeria needs to take our sports talent global. Each new TPL event will showcase a new set of teams pitched against each other in a rivalry driven football tournament with a family-friendly party atmosphere. It's not just Twitter anymore. It's time to take our national pride, passion and power for sports global, until the world sees what we are truly made of. Goodbye to the Twitter Premier League (TPL). Welcome to The Professionals League (TPL).

Trust can be such a hard thing to find these days and one sector where many Nigerians are dissatisfied is the taxi-hailing industry where riders are invariably mad at the tech-franchise cab operators. One of the biggest reasons many Nigerians aren't cozy and trustful of their cab-hailing apps these days is the issue of trust. And do you blame the disgruntled riders? There are way too many hidden charges built and sneaked in through the backdoor of many cab-hailing apps by tech-franchise cabs operators in Nigeria today. No one expected innovative entrapment like surge pricing, cancellation fees and other tricks used by tech-cab operators, and these are killing the teeming customers' trust each passing day. Cab riders now book trips with so much distrust and trepidation of being over-charged or scammed by greedy or smart-alec drivers that the experience leaves a bad taste in the mouth. But this doesn't have to be so, especially if you book your ride with Ryno. Ryno is an indigenous cab-hailing franchise with the solution to Surge Pricing, Cancellation fees, offline booking and ride sharing problems. With Ryno, you don't have to engage in mental math, calculating surcharges and hidden costs, because you want to hail a cab to move from one end of town to the other. Why should riders trust Ryno? One-Ryno keeps their promise when they say no surge charge. Happy clients have been known to book their rides at the same rates at any given time. Ask anyone who has ridden with Ryno, promise kept! Two-Ryno sticks to its Zero Cancellation Fee declaration. We don't advertise to entrap our customers with sweet deals. Ryno app users aren’t unhappy or disgruntled riders, we don’t give benefits to our riders with one hand and take them back with another. At Ryno, we keep our word. Three- Ryno drivers are professionals who stick to their navigation maps. They won't fraudulently take back roads and street corners just to elongate the customer’s trip to make them pay more than necessary. Book a ride with Ryno and transform your cab-hailing experience today. When Ryno promises, Ryno delivers. Ride on your terms. |
Serendipity has been said to be one of the greatest secrets of happiness and I couldn’t agree more based on the experience of a close friend of mine, Mr. Henry. Henry is the media/PR officer of a famous cosmetics company, and always had to do a lot of publicity events on and offline. Henry has a peculiar headache whenever his company had any event to publicize online. He would load his business line with credit and start inviting press managers from different press houses in turn to cover his company’s events. Not only does publicizing his events cost an arm and a leg, the stress of reminding the nonchalant press managers to do their jobs weighs Henry down. More often than not, they distribute his press releases too late on the different traditional and online platforms including blogs and websites, to make the requisite impression on his managers. Henry had to put up with the dismal distribution cycle for 6 months till he got served a warning from his managers. Then one day, as he was going through his timeline during a routine look at his social media accounts, he stumbled on a retweet by his virtual friend about Evolve.Press. It was described as the quickest and most effective errand boy for media managers and Public relation officers to distribute their content. So, out of curiosity, he logged on to www.evolve.press and boom! He had entered a new world of new possibilities and happiness with stress-free results. The accidental discovery of Evolve.Press changed Henry’s professional life. Now, Henry with the help of his digital errand boy – evolve.press, sends articles and press releases across multiple media platforms, from newspaper to news sites/blog to radio and TV stations with the click of a button. He is covered because his new digital errand boy does all his New/Press distributions from his laptop. Henry is now healthy and works pressure-free, plus he now has the time to go for social events like weddings, birthdays and even concerts where he found the love of his life, Omawumi at one of those. Isn’t serendipity such a beautiful thing? Be smart like Henry, embrace the seamless and latest way of distributing your press releases and other functions, log on to www.evolve.press and get yourself some social time, an affordable and stress-free press distribution.

On the First of November, 2016, Linda Ikeji the blogger launched her social media network: LindaIkejiSocial, the social network recorded over 86,000 visitors few days after the launch according to the blogger. She promised it was the next big thing (just like facebook). Nigerians were excited, Tech enthusiasts and forecasters talked about the potentials, they were naysayers (who were mostly immediately shut down), but general consensus was that Linda who was already running Nigeria’s most popular blog (arguably) was winning again. She planned to pay people who gain a lot of followers over 50,000 on their page by putting client's banners on the page and pay them a commission from what the client pays the company. “The aim of the business is to give back to the online community. The strategy could mean good money for users, and the social network that gets help with attracting people to sign-up. A win-win”, she explained. Also the platform allows users to share juicy, authentic and exclusive content and earn some cash while doing so. On Linda Ikeji Social, users can chat, connect with friends, say whatever they got on their minds, share memories and get the latest breaking news. The Site crashed on Day 2, the traffic was huge, Google trends put out press statement that the Linda Ikeji social DOMINATED the google trend. 8 months after the launch Evolvepress takes out time to do an audit and analysis of it’s online presence. According to Alexa.com the site currently ranks as number 2, 242 in Nigeria and 254, 658 in the world. Other website review sites like similarweb.com rank it worldwide as low as 1,000, 000+ When compared with the LindaIkejiblog.com the stats show: the differences are staggering, (Linda Ikeji Blog stats is in orange), obviously the traffic from the blog has not rubbed off on the social networking site. Total visits from the last 6 months were constant across website review sites and showed that LindaIkeji Social has had 9380 total visits in 6 months while LindaIkeji blog has had over 3,000,000 visits (wow, you people really like your gossip). However, we found, people spent more time on Linda ikeji Social, with an average visit duration of 14 minutes 30 seconds. A large percentage of them actually come from search, which means people visited a search site like google and they entered Linda ikeji social into the search bar, or LIS and were thus directed to the Linda Ikeji social site.. Again, more male visitors than female, this no longer surprises us, It is most likely for research purposes (Nigerian men do not read gossip! :-)). More people are visiting the site from their work internet, and although I have no idea how Alexa.com knows this, most of the Linda Ikeji Social visitors are graduates. We checked out the social Media pages to find out if they got more traffic than the site itself, and we found out that the statistics on social reflected same as the website: twitter has 251 followers and only 9 posts. Facebook, has 279 page likes and an average 5.4 likes on posts. Instagram seems to be doing a lot better than the other social network sites. Comments: LindaIkeji Social is not doing great at all, it seems to have been abandoned even by Linda Ikeji, Popular topics from the site’s forum are at least 6 months old and the recent topics have an average 5 likes The Popular topics are actually give away posts, after the give aways stopped, users migrated back to the comment section of Linda Ikeji blog. What should Linda Ikeji have done differently? Was the Social site doomed to fail from start as it seems there was no proper planning for long term activity on the site, The Site has really poor SEO. What can Linda Ikeji do differently to get back on track building Nigeria’s biggest social site? As Victor Asemota said - Collaboration. Collaboration, Collaboration, (He said it once though, we just thought we needed to repeat), We think she needs to utilize Social media to drive traffic to the forum. Also Open the forum, People don’t have to sign in to be able to read the forum, they only need to sign in to participate in the conversation. Social media Influencer Chatter would be a great addition, no more incentives for now until she can plan proper social media campaigns to drive traffic. Have celebrities open their own Linda Ikeji Social Fan page, She should have collaborated with Big Brother Naija and started Conversation Fan pages for each of the Housemates. We have plenty more ideas on how to drive the much needed traffic but she needs to call us. soon. LOL. Thanks for reading guys, please share. Jide, a goal-getting marketing executive in a consulting firm in the busy city of Lagos, needed to be at an impromptu meeting in an hour and a half's time and picked his phone to book a trip on a cab-hailing app. Feeling he had enough time to play with, Jide didn't check on the cab he hailed until about 7 minutes when the driver told him he was still trying to locate the client's office meandering through the intricate web of streets of his arrival. Starting his ride a few minutes later, a befuddled driver was asking his client for a preferred route when using his navigation map would have sufficed. Long story short, an overwhelmed and unhappy Jide arrived his meeting late and said bye-bye to his long-anticipated deal. Jide could have avoided this calamity if only he had hailed a Ryno. Ryno is an indigenous online cab-hailing platform that gives you quality experience designed especially for you. Ryno connects the rider with professional and experienced drivers who are conversant with the existing routes and streets they operate. Not only is the rider assured of clean, comfortable and affordable rides, they are sure of incident-free riding experience that gets them to their destinations safely and right on time. Ryno is the pleasant way get around town without the proverbial stories-that-touch-the-heart. With or without traffic, riding with Ryno is an experience that leaves a smile on your face and money in your pocket. Ride on terms with Ryno today for a timely and easy journey to your destinations.

On the first of June, Nathaniel Bassey started “The Hallelujah Challenge” a 30 days praise and worship session that takes place from 12.00am to 1.00am every day in the month of June from his Instagram handle @nathanielblow. The theme for the session is Olowogbogboro which means “The Broad and Mighty Hand of God”. To join in the challenge users follow Nathaniel on Instagram and tune to his live broadcast, He started with over 4000 followers on Tuesday and in 14 days, the challenge has gathered over 72,000 live worshippers, (68, 300 on Instagram, 9,000+ on Facebook). The challenge cascaded into Facebook on day 12 and has become a movement on social media. With over 10,000 posts with the hashtag “#HallelujahChallenge” and over 18,000 posts with the hashtag “#olowogbogboro” since the event started on instagram, it has become the number one on trends list on all social media platforms. The last 500 posts for hallelujah challenge reaches over 3, 000, 000 people with an impression of 4,000,000 #Olowogbogboro has 729 posts by 589 users reaches 1,400,000 people on twitter in just 4 days, from June 10th till June 14th. For #HallelujahChallenge on twitter alone, we find it has reached over 2, 000, 000 people, in 2 days, with 200 posts from 181 users. WOW! We were curious as to other stats, what devices, demographics, how many men and women were using this hashtag, how much of it was negative/ positive, how much of it was original or just shares an retweets, so we dug a little deeper- Android users win this round, with 48% of people using the hashtag on android and 28.7% iphone users. Surprise, ‘who woulda thunk?’ they were more men than women using the hashtags - 68.3% Men. Positive sentiments were a whopping 53.4 and negative sentiments (but of course! Children of anger, Eyin Omo Wobe, LOL) was 6.8%. Most people just retweeted and shared, only 43.7% of posts were original, the rest were retweets and shares. Surprisingly, though the conversation about the challenge was driven by twitter, although the live videos are not broadcasted via periscope, fix up twitter, and just look at, people participated from around the world - America, South America, other parts of Africa. Other Instagram stats was about the same as the twitter stats SWOT S - The strength of the event is the fact that it is online and it can be assessed by all who have a smart phone and are in different parts of the world. W - The weakness of the event is the fact that the network providers keep having issues leading to a break in transmission during live streaming. O - The Opportunities of the event is that it has brought together a large number of people together to serve God as well as win souls for Christ. it has opened up opportunities for a digital church model T - The threat of the event of this magnitude is that it cannot be controlled and can lead to different believes and ideology about the event and there by lose the essence of the event. Spin -Offs Nigerians are quickly cashing in on merchandising; you can now buy Halleluyah challenge and olowogbogboro tshirts online. After being handed a new two-year contract by Arsenal, Arsene Wenger is on the verge of signing Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru from Belgian top division club KAS Eupen, media reports in England suggested. The 19-year old was the Jupiler League’s joint top scorer in the 2016/2017 season and it is believed that the Gunners have agreed to meet his £6.8 million release clause. But Sky Sports reported that personal terms were yet to be agreed on. The imminent arrival of Onyekuru at the Emirates Stadium has angered more than a few Arsenal fans who hoped that Wenger would sign a marquee player. But Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes the young Nigerian would eventually “shut…up” his critics. Source: The Guardian Nigeria

At an exclusive dinner event held at the Renaissance Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos on the 3rd of May 2017, Canon in partnership with their Nigerian distributor, Jamaica Trading Company officially launched two hero products into the Nigerian market- the EOS 5D Mark IV camera and E-series of PIXMA printers - E474 and E414. Canon invited its end-users to experience the newly launched products and Canon’s wide range of portfolio. Also, Canon announced the winners of the ‘Celebrate Africa’ competition same night. The Campaign was originally activated in February 2017, through an online competition where Canon encouraged people from the African continent to submit images captured by them under any of the three categories: People of Africa, Africa’s Citylife or Africa’s Landscape and Wildlife.
