Sports / Re: The Use Of Research In Sports Management. How Effective Is It? by exbogus: 5:31pm On Nov 22, 2008
I personally believe research is compulsory in sports management if only to stay in business. As an agent, you need research into statistics to show that sports teams get better when they add your players to the team. As a manager of a sports team, you need research to show that your team would be the next dynasty so you can get sponsors. You need research to back your decisions, create your forecasts, and take calculated risks.

Research is one of the most important aspects of sports management if not the most important.

Could you explain what you mean? Research in sports can mean different things like researching your opponents, recruits, your teams performance etc.
Career / Any Readers in Naija? by exbogus: 8:09pm On Nov 21, 2008
I love reading, and now that I am serving, it's hard getting access to any books here.

How do you guys in Naija get access to books? Do you guys buy them, borrow them, photocopy them? What do you do with the books when you are done reading them?

I am not talking about textbooks here o, talking about reading for leisure. I had access to tons of books in school, joined a library when I was at Ibadan, and now, nothingĀ  cry

Abeg, help person o!

Science/Technology / Re: Time Travel And Teleportation: How Possible? by exbogus: 6:08pm On Apr 13, 2008
I have a friend who's into time travel. What he said was that time travel would not be possible from earth because the earth is not stationary. So if you leave on a vessel faster than light, there's no way to come back to earth because the earth would have moved from the previous position at take off. Time travel would have to be done at some stationary position in space which means it wouldn't happen in our lifetime.

I can't believe I had never heard of him before. The quotes I've seen so far are great. I'll look for some of his works. Anyone in particular that's really good?

Thanks.

Computers / Re: Cheaper Laptops And Desktops For Sale by exbogus: 4:11pm On Jan 07, 2008
Hey, can you help me with shipping? I got some laptops myself that I'll like to ship. I'm just wondering if you can help out. Where do I send it to, how much, how long, etc?

I'm in the U.S. btw.

And if I want to buy a new laptop in Nigeria, do you have a listing of what you currently have or how does that work?

Thanks.
