Update on my case I received an email for passport and visa collection 15th October. And we've been in the US for 2 weeks now. Thank you to @Aestake & @Bowanja and everyone who was of help. Goodluck to everyone expecting. |
Exhausted03:The number turned out to be UStraveldocs contact number. They are no longer in service, so I couldn't speak to an agent. |
flourishing247:Thank you. I just tried it but today is not a working day so I can't speak to an agent, I'll try it tomorrow |
Thank you Taal17: |
aestake:Hmm. It really seems so. Thanks for the update, it has really brought things to light. We will arrange for that. It's really off that the embassy doesn't have any active phone number or email and that one has to source so hard for info. This community is really helpful. Thank you all for your selfless help |
Lordcrixus:Thank you. Just did I had previously used this site, it confirms that we are ready for our interview, but we have passed that stage. We have attended the interview over a month ago and we're approved. Just need to get the visa and passports back
|
Please does anyone know of another number to reach the embassy? This one isn't going through.
|
aestake:Thank you. I just checked and there's on difference on our CEAC account. Not even a new message.
|
@aestake Congrats to your friend |
I tried reaching out to the embassy, the numbers i got online didn't go and their bot auto-replied my email telling me to make inquires in their Visa Navigator. I did and it ultimately led me to the usvisappt website. The website was changed (26th August). The new one( usvisaappt) is not fully set up, no family based visa is listed in it yet. I got in touch with the customer service but I was told to wait till F4 is included in the site, then file a complaint about my visa & passport retrival. If I could just get in touch with the embassy I wouldn't be running this rats race which I doubt will be fruitful. Please if anyone has a number or a functional email that an actual human is in charge of, please help. My mum is sick and depressed, we lost my dad a few months ago and I just want her to leave here as soon as possible, even if we don't tag along, things are too much on her & this is all I can do to help. aestake: |
We asked during the interview, but were told that they would use the contact sheet we filled to reach out. I'm trying to login the account I just created in the new visa website as I suspect that's what's delaying, but it's quite buggy and not working. Keeps saying "User is inactive" for a new acct I just created, using "forgot password" to reset isn't working as well, nothing is being sent. I'll keep trying aestake: |
aestake:None ohh |
Yes, an account on UStraveldocs was created. The Embassy's website does say that New visa appointment website & New document drop-off and pickup locations will be available on the 26th of August. Belle777: |
Yeah, passports and visas It seems so. Taal17: |
aestake:In the sheet given after the interview, US Travel docs contact was given as the helpline. They said not to contact the embassy. I've been emailing US travel docs for weeks but all they're doing is asking for each applicant's info and not replying after. Frustration led me to email the embassy (as the contact number I got online wasn't going), no response yet. I will Sha keep emailing the embassy. Thanks |
Exhausted03:Na Wa ohh DHL says the visa hasn't arrived to their office yet (it's been 28 days) and that it usually takes 6 to 8 month for immigrant visas and passport to be issued/returned. Whereas the embassy said 10 working days. |
Thanks for your update, I was about to ask. There is no update on our UStravel docs webpage. Interview was 18 business days ago. I plan on just leaving for Lagos to see if it's available. If anyone has experienced this or has any tips please chip in. Belle777: |
I got an empty mail from you about a month ago, emailed you back but there was no response. I'm sorry that the finalization of your visa was delayed. I suggest you send both the requested original birth certificate of your petitioner and your international passport, as the embassy usually collects applicants international passport and give it back through DHL with the visa. bonawaja: |

Yes, I'm F4 For context my mum is the primary applicant. Questions were directed at her,my siblings and I. After that, my siblings and I were asked to take sits away from the interview booth, and she was the only one being interviewed. Questions we were asked "Who is filing for you" "Who is he to you" To us children "have you ever met him" "What is he like" "Do you speak often" "What do you speak about" "What do you plan on doing when you arrive at the US" "Is your petitioner your elder or younger sibling" " Are the children your biological children " "What does your petitioner do for a living" "Is your petitioner married" "Does your petitioner have children" "When last did you see your petitioner" " When did your petitioner last come to Nigeria" "When did your petitioner leave for the US" "Have any of you filed a non immigrant visa" "How many times have you been to the US" These were the questions we were asked, together and apart (primary applicant alone). The interview questions from what I observed are not necessarily set in stone. The conversation flows at times. A man was asked why he has 4 baby mommas and hasn't settled down. Another was asked if he lives with his fiancee, how the relationship will be if he travels, and if he plans on getting married after the interview (The booths are close to the waiting chairs and interviewers can be loud at times so you can hear somethings). A woman seemed to have issues with the police (I don't know if it was local or foreign) and was asked to explain the ordeal. A woman was asked if her petitioner's kids lived with her petitioner, how old her petitioner's kids were, and where she planned on living on arrival to the US. Translators for the languages Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, and Pidgin are available. There might be more, but these are the ones I saw. |
Thank you We just printed copies, they were accepted, and we weren't asked for an updated one. Good luck to your friend's sister. aestake: |

So sorry for the late reply. If you haven't attended your interview yet read what I posted above for everything you need to know saddyn: |

One thing I will tell everyone who is about to attend their interview is that Those guys outside the embassy want to dupe you. Do not be fooled, they charge outrageous amounts eg ₦20,000 for printouts (proof of payment printout) and will say certain documents which are not required are required just so you'll pay. Don't listen to them. Bring every document/ printout required. Lists Of Documents To Bring For F4 Interview Are In The Attachment Below For Entry Into The First Embassy Building: (1)Staple 2×2 inches passport photo of each applicant on their respective printed colored DS260. (2) After this, fix each applicant's DS260 into their international passport. Hold printed Appointment letter Inside The Building: (3) Provide the printed Appointment letter when asked (4) If you are with phones, watches or sealed envelopes, ask an officer to direct you to where to keep them (as at July, I was asked to pay ₦500 to the person in charge of the safes where belongings are kept) After this you will be directed out to another building. This is where the interview will take place after you have provided requested documents for each applicant and your petitioner. The following documents will be requested: (i) Birth certificate of the petitioner (ii) Birth certificates of each applicant (iii) One 2×2 inch passport photo of each applicant (iv) International passport of each applicant (v) Pictures that indicate relationship between the applicant and petitioner. (This could be printed screenshots of chats over the years, money transfer receipts or pictures of the petitioner and applicant together. If you choose to provide pictures, if possible, come with printed pictures of the petitioner and applicant together at different ages (as children, young adults & at older age). You don't need to photocopy these pictures like the guys at the gate will have you believe. The pictures will be given back to you once your interview ends.) (vi) Filled Contact Sheet (hand filled contact sheet is accepted) (vii) Petitioner's tax return printout. (viii) Marriage certificate if applicable (ix) Death certificate if applicable (x) Police Certificate (xi) Affidavit of support (form I-864) Note: 1. Birth Certificate of each applicant must be issued by National population commission. If born before 1992, Birth attestation issued by National population commission will be requested. Petitioner's birth certificate/attestation will be requested. (On this,if your petitioner can't send their birth certificate over, I advice getting one from the National population commission prior to your interview. NPC will ask you to go to Federal or State high court (it must not be magistrate court or the likes) and swear an affidavit. Go with a picture of the person and money [₦500 in Niger State, things are cheap here so go with more]. This same process applies to get a birth certificate or attestation of any of the applicants and the petitioner. Even if they are not present as long as the person swearing is a direct blood relative it will be accepted) 2. I saw people being sent back because they didn't provide enough evidence of relationship, (eg only pictures of d petitioner and applicant as adults). Provide enough evidence of relationship or your case could be postponed untill you provide them 3.I saw people who lied, were caught, and denied visa because of it. Records are kept. A woman stated a different age to the one she claimed when she was trying to get a non immigrant visa. Because of this she was denied. A man lied about applying for a non immigrant visa 8 years ago, he was caught, I don't know if he was denied. The point is, Do not lie. If you or your petitioner have previously stated a lie to the embassy either immigrant or non immigrant (though I discourage) stick to it and make it tally in all your documents. During Your Interview: Be honest, if you have provided everything you're asked for you will probably be approved. *IOM usually sends medical results to the Embassy, but you can still bring the slips of each applicant you are given. If you bring the sealed envelope, you won't enter with it. *A lot of the documents and photocopies I was asked to bring in my interview letter (eg Petitioner's Naturalization certificate) we're not asked for. However it is best to come prepared. Follow the instructions in your interview letter. Incase Print both proofs of payments from CEAC website Do Not Print Anything From The Boys/Men At The Park They Over Charge And Make People Print And Photocopy Documents They Won't Use. If You Do, You Could Print 1 page which normally costs ₦100 for ₦20,000

It went well. When your interview time is mentioned you will be asked to cue on a line. After a few of your documents are checked, you will be ushered into a building. In that building any worker searching people will direct you to a place by the left where small vault lockers are. To put belongings in a locker costs ₦500 as at July. We left our things (phone&watches) there. Belle777: |
Thank you bfn1: |
If things don't get faster, he could wait for 8 months (or less) AFTER his priority date is no longer current. aestake: |

I'm glad I could help. The interview time is 7:30Am 22nd of July. It's probably best to arrive at least 2 days to the interview if you don't already live in Lagos. I haven't been to Lagos but I assume there are Hotels near the consulate. A quick Google search could help. Belle777: |
