Wearing a facial veil (Hijab) is not necessarily archaic as the intention of it is for a woman to practise a form of conservatism and moderation. I do agree though that Beating and stoning people is archaic. Killing is archaic, but in the Qu'ran, it clearly says that killing is wrong.

Bowing to God is a personal choice, I feel that it is unfair of you to judge the beliefs of others. If you yourself feel that bowing to a higher power is archaic, then fine, so be it! However, let people practise their respective views whilst you practise your own.

As I stated earlier, have you come across >=51% Muslims? No, you have not. Not all Muslims have the same thought process and not all Muslims practise Islam the same way. External cultural influences and individual personalities alter the mean/way everyone practices Islam.

I know what archaic means, it's another way of saying "antiquated" or "outdated". As aforementioned, your definition of archaic is not Universal as not everyone shares your beliefs.

You have a right to be agnostic or not religious, I respect that! However, you do not have a right to say that 1.2 billion people or the majority of 1.2 billion people are archaic.

Killing apostates is right to Allah. Killing gays is right to Allah. Killing infidels is right to Allah.

It is narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah b. Umar that the Messenger of Allah observed:

O womenfolk, you should give charity and ask much forgiveness for I saw you in bulk amongst the dwellers of Hell. A wise lady among them said: Why is it, Messenger of Allah, that our folk is in bulk in Hell? Upon this the Prophet observed: You curse too much and are ungrateful to your spouses. I have seen none lacking in common sense and failing in religion but (at the same time) robbing the wisdom of the wise, besides you. Upon this the woman remarked: What is wrong with our common sense and with religion? He (the Holy Prophet) observed: Your lack of common sense (can be well judged from the fact) that the evidence of two women is equal to one man, that is a proof of the lack of common sens[/b]e, and you spend [b]some nights (and days) in which you do not offer prayer and in the month of Ramadan (during the days) you do not observe fast, that is a failing in religion.

We lack common sense because the evidence of one man equals that of two women , a ruling made by Muhammed himself and we also fail in religion cause we cant pray and fast while menstruating, another ruling made by same Muhammed.

Islam in itself is discriminatory to women.

Women can be taken as sex slaves in Islam and raped at will. If Allah can see it as important to make sure to ban muslims from taking pork meat and alcohol, he could have also deemed it fit to ban slavery instead he encouraged people to have sex with women captured in war regardless of whether those women were single or married. Allah has permitted intimacy with a slave woman if the man owns her. Why would Allah allow women to be owned? Are we objects??
Evidence:
Quran 4:3 And if you fear that you will not deal justly with the orphan girls, then marry those that please you of [other] women, two or three or four. But if you fear that you will not be just, then [marry only] one or those your right hand possesses. That is more suitable that you may not incline [to injustice].
Those that your right hand possses here means women slaves and captives of war.

Hadith 3.718 : I saw Abu Said and asked him about coitus interrupts. Abu Said said, "We went with Allah's Apostle, in the Ghazwa of Bani Al-Mustaliq and we captured some of the 'Arabs as captives, and the long separation from our wives was pressing us hard and we wanted to practice coitus interruptus. We asked Allah's Apostle (whether it was permissible). He said, "It is better for you not to do so. No soul, (that Allah has) destined to exist, up to the Day of Resurrection, but will definitely come into existence."
Here, the prophet is basically telling them to go ahead and have slaves with the captives and even ejaculate into them. He discouraged coitus interruptus and told them to go ahead.

ARGUMENT TWO

I'll just quote the Hadith for this one. i think it pretty much explains itself

The first thing that attracted me as a fresher in the University to Islam was the confidence I saw hijabites exuding. I had low self esteem coming from a predominantly Christian secondary school as a muslim student having to use the Hijab alone. So, imagine my surprise when I met brilliant muslim undergraduate sisters donning their Hijab with confidence.

I had a talk with one of them, the then Amirah of MSSN and she explained at lengths to me that Islam has elevated women significantly with the Hijab citing a lot of reasons, and in my ignorance then, I fell for it. Hook, Line and Sinker. And I graduated to using the bigger Hijab called a Jilbab that I still don till date.

I’ve had 2 years to research and ruminate on Hijab and Islam as a whole since joining the University and I now identify, although closeted because of my immediate surrounding, as an agnostic atheist. I don’t have a voice in the University but I do have one on the Internet that I hope to use so innocent and ignorant young ladies stop falling for the scam that Islam has elevated females. Islam is a misogynistic religion.
