I don't need to tell you what businesses I do but I can assure you that I have been able to move with the times.
While you were here on Nairaland crying of hunger in the country, that was when some of us went deep into agriculture. I shot down my bakery at Agungi and someone bought it off with all the equipments the person is running it fine, I was making losses because I didn't have the hands to manage it, a mistake I didn't make with my farms, I made sure I got the right hands on the farms to get the results I need, I have consultants come in and external auditors also.
I know nothing about agricultural economics so I got someone.
Just as I ran my bakery aground because I didn't have the right hands so also many business are running aground due to poor managerial skills.

So young man this is not about me but a Nigerian thing.
I have cattle ranches now and I have Fulani guys in every ranch, nobody knows cows better than them...

Everyday I am talking with my people on how we change things up.

In Benue now we are planting sorghum, Benue stat government has started a brewery we would supply them. That's is thinking outside the box, we could continue planting rice, cassava, soya beans and castor beans but now we switch up and added another because the times are changing....

It's all about management.
Same business same environment, one is increasing staff salary and another is folding up.

The major problem is that the average Nigerian lacks managerial skills, no innovations, nothing, Nigerian business do the same thing year in year out even when the trend is changing and you will agree that the world is moving fast, many companies are shutting down because they are unable to keep up with the trend, they just blame the government for their inability to innovate.
If Nokia and Blackberry were Nigerian companies they would have blamed the government, they would never accept that they didn't move with the times.


So in summary. Businesses are actually shutting down because the owner refuse to think fast....
