Yemmyteespeed007:"Repairing disk error" happens when sectors of your Harddisk is sick/corrupted. So when u see the error, it means ur computer is trying to fix it. But if it takes forever, then ur Harddisk might be failing. Once u can get access to your files, back them up quickly. |
Princewell2012:That's sad. you will need to upgrade it before you can move up to windows 7. |
1) Keep liquids away from your laptop. As tempting as it might be to drink coffee, soda, water or any other liquid near your laptop, accidents can happen all too easily. Alternatively, use a cup with a cover on it, so even if it does spill, the liquid doesn't go anywhere. Spilled liquids may damage the internal micro-electronic components or cause electrical injury to the laptop. Short circuits can corrupt data or even permanently destroy some parts. The solution is very simple: Keep your drinks away from your computer. Even if you're careful, someone else might bump into your desk or you. 2) Having an available antivirus software would help. Even if you know what you download, it may contain a virus that can lead to a problem in your system hardware or software. It may also slow down the system operations and performance. So get an antivirus and protect those precious documents. 3) Protect the LCD display monitor. When you shut your laptop, make sure there are no small items, such as a pencil or small ear-phones, on the keyboard. These can damage the display screen when shut; the screen will scratch if the item is rough. Close the lid gently and holding from the middle. Closing the lid using only one side causes pressure on that hinge, and over time can cause it to bend and snap.

Princewell2012:Just 256MB Ram is very small. You really need to upgrade it to at least 2Gb Which operating system are you using? |
holatin:t That sometimes works when your computer's graphics chips is sick. The laptop usually refuses to display. |
Immediately; 1) Remove the power cable 2) Flip the laptop upside down so the liquid doesn't go further inside. 3) While upside down, remove the battery. Notice i didn't say "shutdown the computer".There's no time for that! 4) Allow to dry 5) Don't power on until some knowledgeable says so.He might need to open it up to ensure it's well dried, etc These 5 steps can save you from buying a new laptop! Be fast about it! . Here is our "homemade" video(sorry, office made. Lol) on how to do it right. https://www.facebook.com/ExperienceTech/videos/1858586611130357/ Pls note: Sticky liquids are more difficult to deal with. Simply drying it won't help. Best bet is to take it to an engineer to properly clean your device.

whitebeard:some laptop processors can be upgraded but its generally not adviceable due to the several technicalities involved. It's much easier to upgrade a desktop. just stick with the RAM upgrade. |
whitebeard:The processor of a laptop can be replaced when it goes bad. Your RAM can be upgraded in order to improve your laptop's performance. |
You feel quite dreamy when you buy your first laptop with you own hard earned money. It starts with the hours of research and then ends with you in a computer shop exchanging cash for a pretty device. You rush home and unbox it and it’s as you imagined it; beautiful and blazingly fast. Six, seven, eight months later and your pretty device seems to take its time to boot. It’s sluggish as though it has jet lag. You are angry, frustrated and you miss the good old days when it said yes to your every command. So, what really happened? Why did it become slow? I will help you with that question, just read on… 1) You have unwelcomed visitors in your computer: I call viruses ‘unwelcomed visitors’ and it always comes to stay ( at least that’s what it wants). When it gets in, it becomes the boss and gives the computer unending tasks. Hence your computer is busy doing some other person’s job that it has very little ‘energy’ to spare for you. Yes, you bought the computer but someone else is in charge now. You get these viruses from the following sources; a) The Internet: Everyone knows the internet is laden with viruses but you still need to access it anyways. lol. b) Transfer of files between people: when you transfer files from memory cards, flash drives etc. the possibility of your computer getting infected goes way up. 2) Ram Size: The more RAM you have, the more your computer can handle multiple tasks simultaneously. So when you have a small amount of RAM and then launch an application, the computer still remains fast. But the more applications you use, the slower it gets. Feel free to ask questions and we would do our best to answer them. Why Your Computer Is So Slow..[Part2]... Coming soon
