Updated Chevrolet Bolt and crossover based on it flashed (original hatch will be delayed) The modernized electric car and the SUV created on its basis will be put into production next year. So far, the Chevrolet brand is only intriguing, but we already roughly know how the cross turned out, for which thanks to Buick. The fact that Chevy will make the Bolt EUV (Electric Utility Vehicle) crossover out of its electric hatchback was officially announced back in March, at the same time the brand announced that the original “five-door” would undergo restyling. And today the first teasers have been published. Both models will enter the assembly line at the Michigan plant in the summer of 2021, although Chevrolet previously said that the hatch would be updated by the end of this year. Recall that a front-wheel drive electric car, which looks more like a compact van than a hatchback, appeared in the range of the brand in 2016; technical modernization was carried out last year. Bolt is difficult to call successful. So, the best year for him was 2017, when almost 23,300 cars were sold in the States. The result of 2019 is only 16 418 units (-9% compared to 2018). Yes, Bolt is more popular in the USA than, for example, Nissan Leaf (12 365 units last year, -16%), but Tesla Model 3 there sold 158 925 copies (+ 14%). The technical stuffing is entirely borrowed from the sister coupe SF90 Stradale, but the design has more interesting features than it might seem at first glance. The Ferrari SF90 Stradale coupe made its debut in the spring of last year, but due to the coronavirus crisis, deliveries to most countries have not yet begun. In fact, the coupe and spider will go on sale simultaneously in the coming months, while the prices for the coupe have long been known (in Europe – from 430 thousand euros), and the price tag for the Spider has not yet been announced. Meanwhile, even with the expected mark-up, the Spider seems to be better than a coupe, if, of course, you want to have a recreational sports car, and not set records at the circuit. The dry weight of the SF90 Spider is 1670 kg versus 1570 kg for the SF90 Stradale – both figures include the optional Assetto Fiorano “lightweight” package. In the case of the Spider, it reduces weight by 21 kg and includes two-tone paintwork, increased use of carbon fiber in the body structure, titanium suspension elements, Multimatic racing shock absorbers and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, which are optimal for driving on dry asphalt.
