Ferrari SF90 Spider: 100 kg heavier than the coupe, but with a rigid folding roof

Scuderia Ferrari has unveiled the first ever plug-in open-top hybrid supercar, the SF90 Spider. The technical stuffing is entirely borrowed from the sister coupe SF90 Stradale, but the design has more interesting features than it might seem at first glance.

The Ferrari SF90 Stradale coupe made its debut in the spring of last year, but due to the coronavirus crisis, deliveries to most countries have not yet begun. In fact, the coupe and spider will go on sale simultaneously in the coming months, while the prices for the coupe have long been known (in Europe – from 430 thousand euros), and the price tag for the Spider has not yet been announced.

Meanwhile, even with the expected mark-up, the Spider seems to be better than a coupe, if, of course, you want to have a recreational sports car, and not set records at the circuit. The dry weight of the SF90 Spider is 1670 kg versus 1570 kg for the SF90 Stradale – both figures include the optional Assetto Fiorano “lightweight” package. In the case of the Spider, it reduces weight by 21 kg and includes two-tone paintwork, increased use of carbon fiber in the body structure, titanium suspension elements, Multimatic racing shock absorbers and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, which are optimal for driving on dry asphalt.

The company noted that the truck’s powertrain will include two electric motors, and that the total system power will be higher than the output of any F-150 available today. Note that now the most powerful “engine” is under the hood of the 2020 F-150 Raptor: it is a 456-horsepower EcoBoost V6 with a volume of 3.5 liters (torque – 691 Nm). This BMW 7 Series has been in a bubble for more than 20 years and now is auctioned

The BMW 7 Series is one of the best saloons of representation, at least if we talk about luxury and dynamic behavior. The current one is already an update of the sixth generation of the model, which has been on the market since 1977. Today we are going to talk about the auction of this BMW 740i E38, a third-generation specimen, that despite having been manufactured in 1997 remains in almost perfect conditions, being probably the best preserved of its time.

The reason is that it has been in that bubble that is shown in the images for more than 20 years to stay in its initial state. The history of this BMW 740i E38 that is for sale on eBay is quite simple. It was first acquired by a woman born in 1927 who hardly ever used it. It had just 255 kilometers on the scoreboard when it was bought by its current owner who took it to Gogolin Slaski, in Poland, to keep it.

Indeed, this person has never driven it, he simply put it in this capsule with air circulation until today. Therefore, we are dealing with an original vehicle, which has not been restored and, even so, remains as new two decades after its manufacture.
