Well, they were definitely absorbed but be sure they did not do so WILLINGLY!! For one thousands fought and died to prevent absorbtion for years. You only need to take a trip down to the south today and you are sure to find people, and families still holding on to that old dream, their own "Biafran" delusion fantasy.   grin grin grin

[s]this is some seriously aggressive minority we are dealing with here. I shouldn't have asked that question ooo!! [/s]  grin grin
The United States left Britain, remember. Those southerners are not very rationale and they held slaves who rebelled against them, Biafra is a totally different scenario.

But what about Serbia and Montenegro, or Czechoslovakia?

Well, consider what happened to them. ROFLMAO!!
Yeah, they were reabsorbed into the country without marginalisation. They also held slaves which was part of their downfall. wink Then what bout Czechoslovakia?

Cheiiii, just within two days of openning this thread, it has had a record 11 pages and 3465 hits at the time of this post. Baba Biafra is too much and too popular ooo. Sending shivers down the spines of lazy nigerians.
grin, Nah, I think the number of views is due to the amount of Igbo people who are supporting Biafra in secret.

Huh?? I would lament? Hausas do it, though not in unison. Yoruba’s do it, though not in Unison. Ibos do it, though not in Unison. You think say if the Ibos decide to step up their game and make it an ethnic-wide trade, I go lament more?? Roflmao!!
Well, I didn’t say you should swallow the insults but Just don’t come back playing the VICTIM CARD. It just comes off as being really pathetic.
In much the same way as some Ibos do not agree to the same. Your point?
Did all the southerners agree with the Southern American Confederacy?

becomrich,:
look the only thing stoping the yorubas is weapon and finance. it would take alot of money more than a person can give. Give it to the yoruba in weeks the yoruba would leave nigeria either the national assembly want it or not. If they dont want want it, i know the yorubas would take thier land.  and nobody dare cross the river niger. take that to the bank. we have the population to remove us and nobody would stop us. may be those your small villagers would stop us. you would go and ask makama to use is pen to create fake human.

Yeah, if U have spent 40 something years trying to fix the house and no progress, it is only wise to look for alternatives, of which buying a new house is one of them.

Another scenario where U would wanna buy a new house and jettison the old one is if a better house comes along. Geddit?
What if you were tricked into renting the house?

No, I don't I'm ignorant, how can you be telling people what they think and then expect them to be courteous to you?
PoliticsRe: The Map Of Biafra by Ezeagu2: 12:15am On Jul 04, 2009
Kobojunkie:
Roflmao!!! Who on earth are the IBOS that they should not be subject to the same natural laws that govern other tribes? NO ONE GROUP OF PEOPLE, NOT EVEN AMERICANS, American Indians, Sunnis, Shites, even brain dead Zombies etc are 100% for any cause. Are the ibos the one group to break this mold? Says who? grin
Oh go away, buzz off you don't know nah-tin. What is it to you if Igbo people decide to move to mars? go and get an Igbo mate and stop disturbing us. Were slaves 100% for the Southern confederacy?
PoliticsRe: The Map Of Biafra by Ezeagu2: 12:11am On Jul 04, 2009
Kobojunkie:
Well, I am not sure I would compare the Ibos to any other tribe in the way you did above, but yeah, the lack of the UNISON as some would PRETEND exists between the ibos is reason why I asked my initial question.
So, are you saying the PRO-BIAFRANS might resort to fighting the ANTI-BIAFRAN ibos then? I mean right here on nairaland many of the pro-biafrans feel they need to INSULT their way into being heard. And I wonder if it is this hard with other ethnicities, how much harder it would be for those are Ibos and anti.
I am not saying other tribalists are saints but you guys are no saints yourselves. So why do you expect to be taken seriously if you have yet to prove that you are any better than the rest of us? I hope you understand what I mean here?
Kobojunkie, who on earth are you to know what Igbo people are doing?
PoliticsRe: The Map Of Biafra by Ezeagu2: 11:36pm On Jul 03, 2009

I mean it is established that the many biafrans on here LOATHE those from other tribes who speak out against the BIAFRAN drive
Yeah and other ethnicities shower us with roses. . . . . . undecided

but what about those from within who do not share those views and do not want a break away from Nigeria?
Show me one.
PoliticsRe: The Map Of Biafra by Ezeagu2: 11:32pm On Jul 03, 2009
Kobojunkie:
Oh !!! Don't even worry about me now !!! After watching the so called Biafran supporters on here, I am so ANTI-BIAFRA you cannot even stop me now. I am so AGAINST that mindset and I believe anyone who clings to that idea needs to be considerd ANTI-NIGERIA with immediate effect. lol

I am just asking, how would a biafran view a fellow ibo who happens to be against the biafran notion. I mean it is established that the many biafrans on here LOATHE those from other tribes who speak out against the BIAFRAN drive but what about those from within who do not share those views and do not want a break away from Nigeria?
You spell 'Igbo', 'Ibo' so we already know your mindset. . . . . .

@ Kobo

I believe U mean Igbo and not Ibo.

Secondly, where do U get the impression that some Igbos actively oppose the cause for sovereignty in this present day Nigeria?
I don't know if he saw any Igbo people fighting against Biafra in the 60's. . . . . .
PoliticsRe: The Map Of Biafra by Ezeagu2: 11:29pm On Jul 03, 2009
Kobojunkie:
@Ezeagu, if you are for Biafra, would you take offense with other ibos who choose to fight against Biafra? I know for a fact that not all Ibos share this new found need to revive the Biafran dream, and I see it causing more rifts than bringing people together in the near future. If you are pro-Biafra, would you think little of those who are Ibos but anti-Biafra?
I haven't met an Igbo who will/has fought against Biafra, so I don't know.
