Some things have become so normal in Nigeria that people no longer realize how abnormal they actually are.



For example imagine paying for something and being grateful the seller didn’t insult you.


Imagine roads being bad for years and citizens simply adjusting their driving instead of demanding solutions.


Imagine power supply becoming so unreliable that generators became part of daily life.


Imagine students graduating and already expecting unemployment before NYSC even starts.


Imagine corruption becoming so common that honesty now looks suspicious.


These things slowly damage people psychologically because humans adapt to whatever surrounds them constantly.



But that is the dangerous part.


When suffering becomes norma people stop questioning it.

And once people stop questioning problems, those problems become permanent.


Developed countries are not perfect. Far from it.

But one major difference is thwt citizens in many developed countries complain early.


Nigerians endure first, adapt next and then complain later.


Sometimes we are too patient with things that should never be accepted in the first place.


The scary thing is that an entire generation can grow up believing dysfunction is just how life is.



Maybe the biggest problem in Nigeria is not only bad leadership. Maybe it is how deeply people have adjusted to bad systems.
