correctguy101:Spot on sir. I saw a rare video a while back, of a colonialist travelling through Igboland in the 30s. This video immediately triggered my memory. copied here for those who enjoy peering back into history. timeline 05:08 - 05.40 is what I refer to. Not an unusual method by any means. Cheers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9BuVFlF7c4?si=P_9QSKyYvVDAhvKa |
aduwak:Thank you for the reasonable submission above. I haven’t posted on Nairaland for years now, but felt the need to do so for this topic. Anyone who has an autistic child that is triggered by loud sounds that lead to dysregulation of the child would’ve done the same thing. It’s a coping mechanism from what years of research has shown in the abroad. Taking positions of this as an example of bad parenting (let’s be honest that’s what is being suggested here) is rather ill-informed and dangerous. I implore us to be more widely read and expand our minds. The more we do that, the better our understanding of things around us. Happy learning! |
