Pearl was staring at them go all over each other:kissing and cuddling. She couldn't fathom why fate had to work this way, why her bestfriends husband of all people.She felt jealous,but she wasn't supposed to be so she just sat across them looking gloomy.

"George, I need to talk to Pearl for a while"

She walked over to where Pearl sat.

"Pearl,I've missed you a lot. I thought you weren't gonna come back again,How was england,and How did your training go?"

"It all went fine,plus I'm also a runway model Now,I intend to further my career here in Nigeria." Pearl said a bit lightened

Alighting from her car,she thought she saw a familiar figure at the store adjacent to her.

She walked into the store briskly.

"Mum,I'm really sorry,I lost my phone where your numbers where saved and I didn't have a backup, I know I've wronged you both,most especially Tracy.where's she?"

"Darling,It's okay,I've forgiven you and I think Tracy will too. Well,a lot has happened since you left,even with Tracy"

"What happened mum"

"She's married now and has a son too"

"wow,my bestie's a mum already. I feel so bad for losing contact all these years..."

"She should Be at work Now tho"

"No,she doesn't work there anymore,she and her husband have a company now."

"Good. My point is,Tracy should be allowed to make her choice. He has prospects and a bright future,we never know who he may be tomorrow. Honey please I beg you,let's not let our daughters life be in shambles,please... "

George was seated outside his house,engulfed in memories of what happened at Tracys'. He couldn't tell no one,not even his mother.
it kept replaying in his head,that middle aged man's voice when he said.
"Stay away from my daughter.You're not good enough for her"
oh How cunny he(the old man) no one suspected a thing when he announced he was leaving.
George wasn't sure of what to do,he was so fixated in his thoughts that he didn't notice the beautiful figure standing right in front of him,teary eyed.

"Tracy what are you doing here?"he asked when the image became clearer to him

"why are you crying" he continued "come sit here" he adjusted for her to sit

"what did my father tell you George? what did he say to you?"

"It's okay,he's your dad and he knows what's best for you"

"Don't tell me he knows what's best, he's only acting in his selfish interest."She continued sobbing

"This was the exact same thing he did with my bestie Pearl, and now I've lost contact with her, I can't take it anymore"

"honey,you had a bestie? you've Never told me about her"George queried

"Yea,I did and now she's gone."

"Gone? as in dead?"

"Not dead,she travelled out. Let me show you her pics in my phone" she took out her phone to bring out the photos
"Oh my! my phone's battery's dead. Do you have power?"

"No,It's gone"George replied

"who do we have here" George's mum inquired

"Good evening ma" Tracy said

"Why didn't you come in.I know there's no power but just come in and say hi"

"I was just about doing that mum"Tracy said

She raised her head which had been on Georges arm all the time

"Have you been crying?" Mrs Peters asked

"No mum,I'm not...Let's all go in"Tracy said

"George son, even if you don't tell me, I know something's wrong, you're disposition says it all"

"Mum It's..."

"Ssshhh son,don't try to lie to me, It's about Tracy right? her family's not in support of the two of you."

"You have to understand them ,I know you feel deprived but you can't blame them,they want the best for their only child.I know Tracy's not happy about it either.
Son,if you are meant to Be together,no one can stop that okay?"

"Yes mum,thanks for everything I feel better now"

"Mum,I have to go now"Tracy said packing he bag

"No tracy ,I won't allow you leave at this hour,It's late already. Please spend the night here,we'd love to have you around you can sleep in my room with me."

"Thanks ma'am.I'll just call home and tell them I can't make it. Do you have call credits George my cell's dead?"

"Yes I do,but It's limited,here"

Tracy slumped on the chair. she was filled with emotions. She wasn't gonna let her dad come in the way of her love life she started sobbing...

"Tracy honey"her mum said. "you have to understand your dad,he did that in your own interest. "

"He didn't do that in my interest but his! He has always been against anything that'd make me happy mum..."

"Honey,do you really love George and do you think your relationship with him could lead somewhere?"

"Yes mum,I love George with all my heart and I could never be more certain. I l..o..v..e him"she continued sobbing

"hush Now child, I'll talk to your dad okay, I'll try to make him see reasons with you... I promise" Mama said and held Tracy tight cuddling her

"I love you my baby" mama said

He was well dressed in a Gucci suit and beautiful designer shoes. His hair was neatly cut and his disposition was awesome.

"I'm sorry I'm late,there was much traffic on the way."

"thanks dear,let's go in I don't want to keep your parents waiting."

"Sir," he adjusted "My name is George Peters. I work at XYZ company, I live with my mum and siblings and..."

He answered every question the middle aged man asked as best as he could.

Minutes later...

"Tracy, Gloria.. this young man is about to take his leave"

"Oh my! I'm sorry, I couldn't spend much time with you. Say me well to your family"Tracy's mum said
George nodded

"I'll see you off george" said Tracy

"Bye sir,ma'am"

Tracy came in happily...

"So dad,what do you think about him?" she said ecstatically

"Tracy.."

"Yes dad.."

"That young man isn't the one for you!"

he was quite tensed after this.

It was tears of happiness and joy too, they had finally admitted to the inevitable ;-)

"Mum,It's been almost three months and Pearl hasn't called me. Today's my Birthday,she always call me, She's always the first person to wake me up with HBD text messages, Now she hasn't even done any."

"Yea hun,today is your day and you need not be worried. She may be having difficult time over there, she'll definitely call you. Cheer up."

Tracy got to the office quickly. she was a little perturbed.

"what could be the problem" she asked her self

She went straight up to the conference hall and as she stepped in, she noticed something strange;the office was not lit.

she made for the switch and 'click'

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRACY!!!

All her co workers and George and even her director were there.
She was excited.

"So you guys played pranks on me, I think I'm underdressed"

"You can never Be underdressed Tracy, you look lovely" George said flashing a smile.

"Happy birthday Tracy, I wish you LLNP here's a gift for you" their director said

"thanks so much boss"

"I'll be leaving now,you guys have fun"

"Tracy happy happy happy Birthday" George said

She giggled.

"Can we go out to celebrate"

"But I just got here " Tracy replied

"Not now,I mean when we are done here, we need some lone time together."

"Of course"

They both smiled and continued with the party.
