Politics › Re: Tinubu’s Tax Reform Bills Not Anti-North – Dogara by faceland: 9:34am On Dec 04, 2024 |
ayo84: The north needs to reorganise and reassess its economic advantage in agriculture and animal husbandry and also solid minerals. They can bolster the valie chain and increase revenue and correspondingly taxes and levies accruable to states in the north. Revatilisation of dry sea ports is also a way to push for industralisation in the north. The worst part is, all they need to do is control the insecurity the elite created and others would come-over to invest (even foreigners). But they would not allow people rest. |

Places that both soldiers and journalist would NOT go, who would verify when they say they have 10 million resident? Na billions of naira they would waste doing this useless census. An inteliggebnt estimate using both active NIN and BVN they estimate how man undocumented people. |

Edygrin: And yet those local governments are still collecting allocation, there are a lot that's going on in Borno but the governor just woke up. They would be sending their useless Senators to come and be making noise and shaking the country when they have never contributed to the development of Nigeria and only does the opposite... I can't count the number of refugees from that state that I have met. Educated Christians that know only death awaits them if they go back to their ancestral home... Their politicians have no motivation to bring peace only looting money . |

Those stinking South Africans would not allow a competent minority groups rule, they would burn the nation if a fellow African aspires for a useless beauty pageant but would kiss the foot of a light skin person. Let a competent Nigerian enter Aso Rock if Nigeria wouldn't catch fire based on tribe and religion. A negroid would always be a foooqin nigga (and do what niggas does). |

The proposed tax reform in Nigeria has its pros and cons. As the saying goes, "insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results."
I want the freeloaders to take responsibility. However, the consequences of this reform could be severe.
Some states might instantly go broke and punish their local populations, potentially leading to revolt against the federal government. This wouldn't be the first time they've taken drastic measures, as seen during the GEJ administration. Now, they're poised to mercilessly implement these tax reforms on locals. For instance, if you earn up to ₦3,500 a day (not profit, just sales, which includes okada riders and mama put), they will come after you for 10%. This feels like "subsidy is gone" all over again. |

Politics › Re: Ọbabìnrin Adérónkẹ́ Threatens To Break Nigeria If North Kills Tax Reform Bills by faceland: 10:36am On Dec 03, 2024 |
Dshocker: Yorubas cannot decide the unity of Nigeria. That is the present reality (and partly why they have not been military coup yet). If the Yoruba feel they have had enough, that would isolate the North and nothing would hold the country again. They do not decide it but they are the 'glue' right now. |

Botragelad: Funny how Assad was in Moscow while all the destruction was taking place. Now, the situation in Syria is something else, with widespread destruction and impending bloodshed. I recently came across a video showing opposition forces being executed. The current power vacuum has created an opportunity for various terrorist groups to seize land from Assad's forces and exploit any weaknesses from any group. It's a ruthless struggle, where the last one standing claims victory.
As we speak, Aleppo is under siege, with reports of key targets like the Aleppo airport falling to the rebels. They've also taken control of Russian, Syrian, and Iranian bases, seizing a large cache of weapons. Russia's response has been weak, so far failed to prevent the rebels' advances in Aleppo. Yeah, they(Russia) continue to carry out airstrikes, but it's not enough to curb these guys.
Just hours ago, the rebels advanced into Idlib, now into the city of Hama and are pushing forward to expand their territorial control. The situation is like a battleground, with multiple factions fighting for power! Are these new breeds of terrorists, are they just highly motivated, or is Russia weak? |

If all francophone nations rejected France, why do we think we can survive where others failed? Mind you,we have great faultlines(religion and ethnicity) The French will gouge on those for centuries I don't think we can be abused like them and the few France that work here are far more fair than the Chinese. Niger, Chad, Cameroon, you can be president for life, allow France to print your nations currency and so on. Try that in Nigeria and you have a civil war. |

Every shop (even roadside corn seller, car wash and fruit seller) makes more than 3500 a day so government worker might catch them to pay up like the Romans did to Jews in the day of Jesus Christ.
They would be locking stores and all sort of things. Everyone that qualify for tax should be paying nothing less than 8k naira per month (how much is your house rent or even Boko Haram levy?). |

Summary, they would use technology to take tax from anyone earing 3500 a day (they don't care how much is your profit, just give them their cut (from 300 to over 800 naira from your 3500 a day).
This is why cash is hard to get these days. |
