When a dog is sick it tends to withdraw itself, likewise when it’s dying. The reason is so they owner won’t be so sad watching it die

You’re right.. Since the past 13years and 7months I’ve had my girl she has never used her teeth on me, but during her sickness while I was trying to help clean her body she began to show aggressiveness by trying to bite me.. it was really disheartening!
Fly on my sweet Girl.. I love and miss you dearly.

I know someone that had a 26 year old dog. The dog was so old. Nobody saw it die or the body. It just went out one calm evening and never returned.

The owner looked for it but never found it.

Someone said some dogs usually do that when they have premonitions of their death.

I also remember they was a dog on a street close to where I lived as a kid. I avoided that street because of the dog as it always barked at me and chased me one particular day.

I can't remember the particular age but it was well over 20 years old.

It later died and I remember being very happy and started going to the compound to throw sticks at fruits hanging from the tree there!

The life expectancy of German shepherd ranges from 10-13years
So I’m certain My Mayoress passed at the apex age.. she died of Degenerative Myelopathy. It’s the main death cause of aged German Shepherd.

In Memory of my Lovely German shepherd Mayoress who slept in the Lord on the 6th of October 2025. She was purchased in March 2012.

Mayoress was Such a beautiful, well behaved and peaceful Creature.
To know her is to Love her…
May Her Gentle soul rest in Perfect Peace.
