Unfortunate, these are exceptions. If women in positions appear to be overly mean to their subordinates, it's mostly because subordinates tend to underestimate them because they are women.

I have seen cases where the men forcefully took the children away only to get maltreated by whoever the father marries again, if not, they would probably leave the children with the man or share them.I heard a group of secondary school girls talking about this recently, the stepmother pretends in front of her father and acts out when he isn't there and no, it's not Nollywood, real life experiences.

Most men will abandon their children somewhere and not care if they are getting the love and support they should get. Women are doing the most please, men put themselves first and don't think of how their actions and inactions affect everybody. This OP is an example.
