Exactly, the problems of industry collapse in Nigeria are many not just power as many are alluding to here. Infact, the chief cause is low demand due to inability to compete favorably with imported alternatives. Same thing happened to Europe and the USA where the Chinese completely eradicated their industrial base in many sectors using the globalization opportunity. The truth is, now there is practically nothing Nigeria can do about it as we cant match the industrial capacity of the Chinese have built unless we narrow our focus on areas and sectors where we have strong comparative advantage and completely dominate there. If this approach had been what Ted Cruz and Trump pursued initially, they would have gained a lot of support from many Nigerians and the international community. Instead, they were thinking of invading Nigeria for reasons I still don’t understand. This new stance seems like an afterthought, coming only after they failed to gain support from the Democrats, China, EU and the world at large. It clearly shows they have ulterior motives. |
AMINDA:I'm not even sure if you are just being mischievous or genuinely struggling to keep up. How can you boldly list 20 ministers from the South-West, and out of those, 11 aren't even ministers? I sincerely hope it's mischief because if it's not, you may need to reboot your slow system and try again. This one no dey add up at all. |
Lagos alone account for between 40-50% of Nigeria Air traffic and about 52% of its GDP. Not mentioning its major contributor to VAT revenue not to mention 80-90% contribution to NPA revenue. So what is 700 billion naira ($450 million) to do a major renovation on the major airports of the country. Most people traveling in and out of the country do so through the Lagos airport. So what is the big deal here. I believe thIS ignorant senator here use the airport too. In fact Lagos is even under funded based on its contribution to the countries GDP and tax revenue. It should have a special percentage every year allocated for its maintenance. As a Manager, will you underpay your best performing employee who bring in all the money and instead pay the low performer higher? |
Typing:You are terrible liar dude, total agriculture contribution (north and South) to GDP was 24% for 2024 even lower for first quarter of 2025. Where does North find 40%. Your Math is not mathing. |
