Private Security Guard Kidnaps Employer’s Two Children in Minna A private security guard in Minna has allegedly kidnapped his employer’s 6-year-old twin children and vanished to an unknown location. The incident happened last Sunday afternoon, May 31, in the Brighter area of Minna. Alhaji Danjuma, a businessman, said he returned home to find both his children, Umar and Anastasia, and his security guard missing. According to reports, while Danjuma was away, his guard, Sani Abdulrahman, a Fulani man, took the twins out on a motorcycle he had gifted him, claiming he was taking them for Eid/Salah celebration in town. When the children didn’t return, the family searched hospitals across Minna, fearing an accident. They later discovered the children were in the hands of suspected kidnappers. Danjuma said callers later contacted him in the evening, saying they were in Erena Forest, Shiroro LGA, Niger State, and demanded ransom for the children’s release. The distraught father has appealed to the Niger State Government and security agencies to help secure his children’s safe release. He also asked the public to pray for their safe return. Confirming the case, Niger State Police PPRO SP Wasiu Abiodun said the incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2026. He noted that Sani pretended to take the children for Salah celebration but has not returned with them. Police say investigation is ongoing to locate the children and arrest the suspect. |
