PoliticsRe: Planned Protest: Stay At Home — Lagos Ndigbo Tells Igbos by Fashdeejay(m): 11:21am On Jul 31, 2024
Okay so this is just me thinking out loud but when did tribalism become part of how we make Nigeria better? If nigerians dont speak with one voice we are as good as defeated... Regionalism is becoming the order of the day when nationalism should. We are Nigerians first before tribe

As much as we agree to disagree, the EFCC chairman should also mention to people in government who are also robbing the country blind. Not just coming after the younger generation or people dealing in forex...
They should also pick up politicians religious leaders and government people... So we know that the law applies to all and not a selected few
FamilyRe: My Wife Insisting That Her Pastor Must officiate our child naming ceremony. by Fashdeejay(m): 10:38pm On Jul 18, 2024
BlindAngel:
That's the church she was attending before we got married, so I don't want to stop her in order for it not to seems like I'm wicked and for her not to call me names.

Yesterday she reminded me that after our marriage my family forced her to do thanks giving at our church. She has been saying this for long, but stopped, until yesterday.

I told her that doing thanks giving at our church is now a bad thing or something that's forceful?

She cried a lot yesterday because of our argument of this naming.

Same tears she used in forcing me into getting married to her when I wasn't in anyway ready.
the most common way women manipulate men is with tears .... That being said, you wife literally just made enemies with your extended family. Your decision should stamd but you dont have to force it, you gently talk her into it. If not there is problem.... Also do a DNA, just to be on the safe side. No matter the name she calls you... She didnt impregnate herself, so except you are not the father of the child, you have the final say as to how you want to name your child.
PoliticsRe: 2 Days After Elrufia Kwakwaso Buhari Met Bombing Started by Fashdeejay(m): 10:04am On Jul 01, 2024
Tribalism is a form of terrorism. The sitting government undermined Jonathan's govt. Labeled them bullies and enemies of democracy, went on a crusade labeled occupy nigeria... All of a sudden now they are there and they have become dictators and trying to take away the people's right to protest. Yorubas are not known as hypocrites... We are fierce and we dont believe in seeing people cheated. It is sad that the present govt has shown the people that they cannot be trusted. We were labeled lazy nigerian youths till october 2020 showed them we could speak with one voice....... It is time to leave tribal and religious issues aside it is one of the weapons used by the government to cause our disunity
... Divide and conquer rule....

The problem is mainly with the Yorubas because of our culture and upbringing. They cannot try that in Kano or Kaduna or even Suleja. Late Dr Fasheun (OPC founder) collected money from IBOS to fight Lagos State Government during Tinubu and Fashola era because of Ladipo Market. Now, Ladipo Market is very rowdy, chaotic and unorganized. They have bastardized the whole place. I suspect after the death of Dr Fasheun OPC founder it is possible the IBOS have approached Gani Adams to defend them. The earlier a decision is taken the better. If Dr Fasheun the OPC founder had allowed Fashola to sanitize the market, situations of things cannot get to this level.

The elites need to get together to chart a course for the Yorubas out of Nigeria.
On what grounds and with what evidence do you sully a great man's name? Do you know tinubu would not have won in lagos state without the help of Fasheun? When did clamouring for peace amongst ibos and yorubas become equal to bribe? Where you present when he was paid the bribe? Because the man was not one to be bought... He carried his name higher than any price. He was a proud ondo man.... He was not tribalistic and despite his status, he was accessible to everyone.

1993 was indeed a tough year in Lagos especially. Like a war zone atimes and in some areas. I remember walking alone along Broad St one day with only Mobile Poiicemen in sight. I was a bit scared but needed to get to the bank where I had arranged with someone to get some cash. There was little or no food at home. No gas. Needed to buy coal or try Abacha stove. 😥

Terrible times indeed! We have liberty and the opportunity of free speech today because our people were resilient in the battle. God rest Chief Frank Kokoris soul in perfect peace. I'm happy to have met him once and had the privilege to listen to the inner workings of NADECO. Also late Chief Ezeife.

Glad that I'm still standing here today...
you left out Dr. Frederick Fasheun... A lot of the Nadeco meeting were also held at his hotel

We have long passed that level of “if we have right people” we have the right people now but the system won’t let things work right.

Only fools do things same way over and over again and expect different results.

It’s time to go back to what worked in the past.
The right people would be people who actually care about the masses. We dont have the right people... We keep recycling the same old windbags who have no blueprint, who care more about amassing wealth than doing the jobs they were elected for. I dont think a tinubu or obi or atiku are the right people to govern .... They are all birds of a feather from different corners of the country. I do agree with you that the system is bad... But remember who created the system.... The people who are in power made the system to benefit their selfish interests where the rich get richer and the poor have to beg for scraps..
They are trying to implement american standards in nigeria .... Instead of finding what works... Like trying to beg a round hole with a square peg.
You come off as some one with a passion for seeing things done, the young ones who have been down the rabbit hole and know that the last thing Nigeria needs is a politician.
Some years ago, our ethnicity never came into question we were okay with calling other tribes our brothers... Now politics in both religion and government and even everyday living has made it hard to accept other people who dont speak like us. We are our own problem, the government knows that and that's why they keep fueling the embers of discord amongst the people.... Because they know if we stand with one voice irrespective of tribe or religion, we will prevail as a nation amd that's not beneficial for them so they try to avoid it as much as possible.
Imagine having a president who is familiar with the times we are in? And not someone who does not understand the first thing about the plight of the masses.
We dont need an america or UK to do better, remember they are part of the problem we have .... Don't believe The US or UK or france or even russia or china will help nigeria to become like them... They always want us under their thumb amd control... Do you think they want a black nation to be as powerful as them? Hell no!! But with the right orientation, we can be the african giant.
Even texas is looking for a way out of the american alliance .. Understand that all they try to do is manipulate countries so they can get their natural resources for next to nothing, so they create sponsored wars. Iraq is an example, look at libya.... Libya was self sufficient before america said they had nuclear weapons .... Just like iraq and till this day, nothing like that... All because Saddam hussein of iraq and Gaddafi refused to allow them to have a say in how they rule.

Majority of you are gullible, why? Fulani Kidnappers that are collecting ransom from you left and right are they not undermining your human rights? But it isn American Army base that can be of help to you when chips are down that one is now your problem...Oponu nie

You people have not reliased that terrorists have infiltrated the Nigerian army from head to toes. By the time you get it,what happened in Afghanistan would be a child's play in comparison to what is coming to Aso Rock and it's environ.

Right now,the whole of FCT residents are under the siege of Fulani Kidnappers. But idiots minded cum semi illiterates like you,are bleating like hungry goats about US ARMY BASE that they will cause wahala for the masses. Which of the varieties of wahala or kasala have you not experienced during this APC led administration.

The US ARMY is the only volunteers to have been withstanding the most wicked and inconsiderate blood-thirsty Muslim terrorists from the middle east and Eastern Europe since the middle of this century.

Criminals can never support siting the US army base in Nigeria,I'm so sure of that. Quote me anywhere.

You people should bow your heads in shame, because shame is ashamed of your rottened morals.
You must be a child and you cant fathom the concept of modern day slavery... The western countries are the ones who actually sponsor terrorism in 3rd world countries. The way you responded to my first statement shows you watch alot of american movies and you obviously have a poorly developed brain. Read more about western espionage.... Incase you dont know most of the terror groups were funded by western countries to distabilize 3rd world countries for their own gains. Libya is a classic example... Did you know osama also worked for the american government before being disavowed?

Like someone said earlier, if we have the right people in the right places we would tackle our own internal problems easily.
Also, learn to criticize constructively and let your arguments be devoid of unnecessary emotions. You speak of morals yet you have none.... Nigeria is a country that is consciously being distabilized by the west because we have the tendency to be one of the world powers.... But we have more resources that can be plundered and what better way to distabilize than sponsor terrorism??
PoliticsRe: Why We Must Allow US Military Base In Yorubaland by Fashdeejay(m): 3:46pm On May 09, 2024
Sadly if you understand that the moment you allow a foreign country's base on your soil, you literally hand them the reins of power! America has a penchant for undermining democracy... In a subtle manner especially if the govt. in power doesnt dance to their tune. So i dont think it is a good idea in the long run

Wait!! How do you go to a country that had more issues of insecurity than us to get ideas? What happened to staying in nigeria to tackle the problem locally? I blame the people for voting in such incompetent people. Until we learn that we can do more as a united people the 1% will continue to use our dividedness to feed fat. It's not about religion or tribalism.... It is about being human and humane .....

Those countries that have lost their moral and cultural values, tell me how African countries are better than them? If LGBT is a mental disorder, is it discrimination and jail the answer? All your culture and vales have taken African countries where? To poverty, backwardness and deprivation. You want your country to be on the level of USA, Brita6and Canada, but you don't want to do things the way they do
it is sad that in the process of copying the people who enslaved our fore fathers you have decided to enslave yourself with the mentality that anything being done in the west is good for africa. Homosexuality is a disease. It is not accepted in christianity..... It is abhorred by islam.... It is not accepted by any known religion or belief.... But it is "okay" because the US and UK allow ithuh Now.... Maybe you sympathize with them or you are a member, I do not know.... But I will say this as a person.... The act is what i detest not the people. The fact that you can condone lgbtq is the same with accepting child molestation and child slavery.....

PoliticsRe: Bobrisky: African Attitude To Gays, Trans, Crossdressers Should Change by Fashdeejay(m): 2:40am On Apr 13, 2024
gidgiddy:
I'm a Christian. My religion frowns at gays, transgender, Lesbians and crossdressing. However, my religion tells me not to discriminate. Not even the Pope, head of over 1 billion Catholics, will discriminate against a person because of their sexual orientation, or being gay.

In rich progressive countries of the world such as USA,Britain, Germany, Italy, Canada, to discriminate against a gay person because of their sexual orientation can attract a prison sentence. Gay rights are taken seriously. It is only in poor retrogressive countries such as Nigeria that you see people openly discriminate against gay people

I'm not a fan of Bobrisky, trans, crossdressers or LGBT, but I think it very wrong and backwards to discriminate against them for that. What two consenting adults decide to do inside the bedroom is none of my business, even if they are same sex.

What is it as a Nigerian do you think you know, that Britain, USA and Canada don't know? You think those countries are foolish for protecting their gay citizens? While you are busy bringing out laws that jail and punish yours?

You watch people openly abuse and mutilate the Naira every day and think nothing of it, but support Bobrisky going to jail for that, just because he chooses to live an alternate lifestyle? The same lifestyle that countries you pray to be like protect?

You don't have to like a gay person, but to discriminate against a gay person belongs in the stoneages, not modern society
you claim to be a religious person yet you do not frown at what is wrong? The countries you mentioned as being progressive have lost their moral and cultural values and it is because africans like to emulate them that we are having this mental pandemic.... LGBTQ is a mental disorder.... A man dressing as a woman's or identifying as a woman in medical books is a sign of a mental disorder. We can as well say mad people are alright because they choose to wear dirty torn clothes and eat from dunghills. As a Nigerian, I know more things about cultural values and spiritual values than the countries you mentioned. I have been around to those countries and what you see on the TV screens and hear are mostly far from the truth about the countries you so fantasize about.
When a man comes out in public and tries to force an obviously false narrative down your throat, will you accept it because he believes in itshuh Men should be men.... Women should be women.... Dogs should be dogs and cats should be cats.... Lets stop encouraging the sick narrative that the biology we learnt in school is wrong. God created Eve for Adam not steve for Adam
