I have a hosting package with Network Solutions and every time I try to access it using my mtn modem it comes up with "Service Unavailable". But meanwhile I have tried connecting on other type of connections other than a mobile broadband and it works just fine. So, can anybody say anything at all on how this is so and what can I do to remedy this. Thanks |

Its been a while I have been to nairaland and I am beginning to regret that. I have been researching on game development on my own for a while now and it almost feels like I have been on an island. I saw this thread and I got excited but I discovered that to catch up on what has been said and done would take 16 pages which would get me bored before I can say rick dizzle! So, can someone just give me a summary. My skills that pertains to this: Java Python C# GIMP |
not complaining, just commending. |
NL chics, i must confess, UNA TOO FINE, evidence so far and counting: snazzydawn, Missy B (me favourite), tope2000, foyeks2001, |
There are lots more to it. There are also Procedures and Functions, Views, Joins, Unions etc. Most of the time u would rearly need to use 'em but they are quite handy and useful tools in complex situations. I think the best for you is to take the journey yourself and make the internet and google your best pals. |
maipeople:Read the above. |
www.flazx.com for most, if not all, of your programming books your heart desires |
@ yawa-ti-de Thanks for your response, I appreciate it. The thing is that the whole site has to be converted to a specified language (say French) and not specific text. I mean, doing what you suggested would take a lot of time. I was thinking maybe there could be a service provider just like google or an open source package that can do this. |
Cron is an implementation of Window's Microsoft Scheduler on Unix. It stands for Chronograph. The problem is actually how to get the server to run the cron jobs i have written for the site |
yawa-ti-de:For even more clarity ur SQLs can look like this: $sql = "INSERT INTO table SET feild1 = {$feild_value1}, feild2 = {$feild_value2}, feild3 = {$feild_value3}, feild4 = {$feild_value4}"; $result = mysql_query($sql); . . . . I know this is not your fish bone but it helps alot in detecting errors a all that. |
If it were Joomla or any of the contemporary CMSs this would have been easy. They wanted a custom CMS (for security reasons anyway). They didnt want anything of public knowledge. |
How do i get through with cron jobs for my sites |
Hello NL, I have just started a new project that requires a multilingual facility. Now this has to be done automatically mainly because it is going to be a CMS based site and I/they (the owners of the site) dont want to go through the stress of uploading different versions of a content every time the site is updated. I have gone through sites that provide this has a service but then they always have a way of branding their translator. Take google site translator for example, anytime you hover over a link, a tooltip comes out making it obvious that its Google doing the translation. I would have being fine by this but this is really not good for business, Anyway, any help along this line will do. Thanks in anticipation. (, the last line makes it feel like an official letter. ). |
phpdesigner is also nice IDE, its close to zend studio. all these for PHP anyway. |
Have you guys tried the Zend Studio. Although it tends towards PHP more but it gives you more support when coding ie syntax highlighting, auto-complete (even with your custom functions), reference to PHP documentation right on the IDE, But in place of a WYSIWYG design view, it has a live view: an in-built browser which i really do not appreciate. But in general, for most code-it-yourself centric people like meself, its a wonderful IDE plus its absolutely free. |
Do you have ladies in abuja. would love to meet one. |
