Investment / 8 Money Saving Tips 2019 by fatomiluyi(m): 4:19pm On Aug 22, 2019
Simple Ways to Save Money

If you are looking for some easy and relatively painless ways to cut back on your spending, this article (8 Money Saving Tips) is for you. Try these tips to put more money in your pocket without too much muss or fuss. It’s great when you can find ways to make money, but you certainly shouldn’t neglect opportunities when you find ways to save money too!

8 Tips to Save Money

1. When purchasing electronics, do not get the extended warranty, Normally the cost associated with this is not worthwhile. This isn’t carved in stone, but it has been my own personal experience. The prices of electronics have come down so much recently that you really should spend a minute figuring out the numbers for how much that extended warranty is really worth by the time you pay it off.

2. Go through your closets and sell things that you no longer need, Kids’ toys, outgrown or outdated clothing and old books are just a few things that you can sell to earn some extra cash. Have a yard sale or sell them online on sites like eBay or Craigslist. If you have some old vintage items stored away, you might be surprised how much you can make by selling them on eBay.

3. Try to buy gently-used, second-hand furniture, cars, and appliances, These big-ticket items can be costly when purchased new, but you may be able to get a great deal from someone who is trying to downsize or get rid of things they no longer need. Scratch and dent shops are another great place to save money on large appliances around the house. Who really cares if there is a scratch or dent on the back of a washing machine if it works perfectly and carries the same warranty?

4. Purchasing online is one of the most convenient and often cost-effective ways to buy things, but before you hit the “Submit” button, use a search engine to check for online coupons or discounts. Simply type the name of the vendor and the word “coupon” into the search engine to find any extra discounts that may be available to you. These can include free shipping deals, percent-off offers or freebies.

5. Keep tabs on credit card spending, and pay your balance in full each month. Paying interest and finance charges on credit card purchases means that you are paying much more in the long run for the items that you buy on credit.

6. Check with various lenders to find out if refinancing your mortgage would be worthwhile. If so, you may be able to lower your monthly payments substantially. We usually get the bug to check this every few years and it is surprising how much things can change over time.

7. Consider planting a garden to save money on your grocery bill. It is relatively easy to grow tomatoes, cucumbers, squash and other healthy vegetables that normally cost quite a bit in the grocery store. Growing your own can provide you with healthy food at a fraction of the supermarket cost. There is just something about growing something yourself that makes it taste a little bit better too. I love it when my kids get interested in helping me in the garden. It’s a real memory maker as well as a money saver.

8. Instead of buying books and magazines, patronize your community library. Depending on how much you read, you stand to save a lot of money by borrowing books and magazines for a few weeks rather than spending money to purchase them. I admit that I’m terrible at this one. I’m an audiobook freak. Other people have grown attached to their Kindles and Nooks. If you like “old school” books though, the library is still a great place to visit.
With a bit of thought and planning, you can do many things to save money. Implement as many of these tips as possible, and you will be amazed at how much extra money you have in your pocket at the end of the month. If you are working to build up an online website or business, you can use that extra cash for things like outsourcing or some cool tool you’ve been wanting to try. If you just want to save money in general, it doesn’t get much easier than this.

Sports / Five Things Learned From Everton Win by fatomiluyi(m): 6:46am On Jan 02, 2018
Manchester United bounced back after a disappointing draw to Southampton with an emphatic 2-0 win at Goodison Park.

José Mourinho has been under a vast amount of pressure over the Christmas break, due to poor results and performances, but this win should quieten down those critics and allow him to get on with the job.

Here are five points that stood out in Manchester United’s win:

Paul Pogba looks more fluid in a three-man midfield

A rare occasion took place and that was Mourinho’s deployment of a three-man midfield. This season, he has opted for a 4-2-3-1, which prohibits Paul Pogba in an attacking sense – arguably his greatest strength.

However, when Mourinho chose Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matić to partner Pogba, it gave the Frenchman the licence to move forward into an attacking capacity and Man United’s attacks looked far better for it.

In the build-up to Anthony Martial’s opening goal, Pogba was an integral part in transitioning from defence into attack and was the player to deliver the assist and ball into Martial’s path.

The former Juventus midfielder impressed throughout the 90 minutes and a hugely positive effect on United’s attacking play and overall performance.

Marcos Rojo is slowly returning to his best

The Argentinean defender has not reached the heights of last season yet, but then again, he has only just returned from a cruciate ligament injury he suffered last April.

Marcos Rojo is now getting back to his best, and with more game time, the process should become quicker and quicker. Against Everton, the former Sporting defender dominated the aerial battle as well as clearing any danger away from his goal.

There was a moment of magic from Rojo when he made a successful last ditch challenge on Oumar Niasse, who was through on goal with a clear sight to David De Gea’s net.

Rojo is not a left back and should not be playing there any more (unless circumstances suggest otherwise). He is a completely different player when at centre back and also compliments the midfield nicely with his array of passing and decision-making.

Anthony Martial is outrageously clinical in front of goal

For Manchester United’s opening goal, it was a fantastic counter attack special that was led by Pogba. As the Frenchman waltzed past his markers, he delivered the ball into his compatriot on the edge of the box.

Martial shifted his body weight to the right-hand side and expertly placed the ball into Jordan Pickford’s top right corner. It was a finish that lifted the crowd and further reinforced Martial’s reputation of being a clinical finisher.

One major difference between Martial and Marcus Rashford is the level of finishing. The Englishman has been known to panic in front of goal, whereas the Frenchman takes it fully in his stride and only rarely misses when posed with a goal scoring opportunity.

Luke Shaw’s consistency has been a step in the right direction

Luke Shaw has been given a new lease of life after being trusted to play over the Christmas period. He has now started three consecutive games for the first time this season, and looks like he is slowly getting back to his best.

What has been pleasing to see from Shaw is his ability to overlap his winger and offer another alternative. With Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian, seldom do you see either cross the halfway line and actually pose a threat in the opposition’s half.

While Shaw still has plenty to improve on, he has made strong and important strides in the past month and is beginning to be used and trusted more by the Portuguese boss.

There is no doubt about it that Shaw has an incredible future ahead of him, but he must continue to work hard and fight for his place under Mourinho.

Jesse Lingard is finally coming of age

This season, Jesse Lingard has matured into a player that is now not only reliable, but also a genuine goal scoring threat in front of goal.

The England international has had his far few moments where he has been pivotal in Manchester United’s success, and this was another game in which he helped influence the end result.

Lingard made it 2-0 to seal the three points for the Red Devils with a wonderful, mazy run past the onlooking Everton defence to then open up his body and smash it past the flailing Pickford.

What has also been mightily impressive from Lingard is his ability to find passes in-between the lines of the opposition’s midfield and defence. He is not only about speed and agility, but also the delicate touches and intricate passes have made him a multidimensional threat.

The academy graduate has proven, especially this season, that he can be a pivotal player in Manchester United’s squad, and he certainly has not weakened that statement with another spectacular performance against Everton. SEE ALSO 5 players Manchester United could lose in January

Sports / Five Things Jose Mourinho Should Worry About Instead Of Manchester City's Spendi by fatomiluyi(m): 6:07am On Dec 30, 2017
Jose Mourinho managed to combine his two favourite things this week in wake of scraping a draw at home to Burnley.

First, he made the subtle (as a sledgehammer) dig at his superiors in a bid to get what he wants - namely, in this case, a boatload of new, expensive players.

Then he utilised the tried and trusted ‘look over there!' defence, dragging Manchester City's spending into analysis of his club's performance this season.

Of course, what United's cross-town rivals has very little to do with the Old Trafford club failing to beat Burnley at home so we compiled a handy list of things Jose should concentrate on rather than that blue team down the road:

1. Teaching his team to defend crosses

Granted, Marc Albrighton's soaring, dipping, swirling parabola that enabled Harry Maguire to equalise at the death of United's draw with Leicester City was about as perfect a cross as you'll see.

But Jose Mourinho's sides have always been defensively-sound teams who can win narrow games. Recently, they have looked unreliable at both ends of the field and particularly at the back, where defending crosses from wide has cost them in consecutive games.

Ashley Barnes' goal for Burnley was described as "s***" by Mourinho this week, though that particular adjective is surely only applicable to the defending from his rag-tag bunch of multi-millionaires.

"Clear it! Clear it! Get it out! Oh…."

2. A lack of coherent recruitment strategy

The latest strategic word hissing from the Mourinho camp focuses on Ed Woodward's poor record in the transfer market.

As the most senior footballing executive in the club - a damning commentary on the management structure of Manchester United, perhaps - Mourinho has sway in transfer dealings and has not failed to have his voice heard on signings.

It is true that recruitment prior to his arrival has been poor, but there is also a feeling that many of these players could have succeeded if they hadn't been at the club in a period of such tumult. From Sir Alex Ferguson to David Moyes to Louis van Goal to Mourinho is a wild ride and it would be no surprise if talent had fallen through the cracks.

When Mourinho first arrived there was talk of a sporting director being brought in, which would undoubtedly be a positive step for Manchester United. But that target was Andrea Berta, who eventually would receive a promotion and hefty pay rise from Atletico Madrid to stay in the Spanish capital and, given that one of his principle strengths is that he has a good relationship with Jorge Mendes, probably isn't necessarily needed at a club where Mendes already has a pretty strong grip.

Of course, Mino Raiola's mad summer of fleecing United will live long in the memory (and, for some, the bank account) but if the club could come together to form some sort of cohesive recruitment strategy then it would quite clearly benefit the squad that Mourinho has both publicly and privately derided as not being up to standard.

3. What his scouts are doing

This is, in part, linked into the club's recruitment strategy as a whole.

But Manchester United's constant search for superstars has meant a certain negligence when it comes to signing value players to compete for places. There was a time, under a previous regime, when this club would buy players like Diego Forlan from Independiente or Javier Hernandez from Chivas.

They are a club with the wealth and infrastructure to scout markets like Argentina, Mexico and wherever else better than any of their rivals and yet they have got sloppy, partly because of changing personnel in the scouting network and partially due to attitudes at the top of the club.

Forlan and Hernandez, to use two random examples, were both players bought cheaply who United made a profit on after they had contributed to the first team. It is a simple process but, instead, the Old Trafford club has turned to the Premier League and major European divisions to fill out their squad in recent seasons.

It has meant failed dalliances with Morgan Schneiderlin, Matteo Darmian and more.

Some sources suggest that part of United's failure is the increasing presence of clubs like City, Barcelona and Real Madrid in what were previously emerging markets. Others say that there have simply been a few duds, like Chilean youngster Angelo Henriquez.

But while it is all well and good to say Manchester United have so much money that it doesn't matter how they spend it, the main point of having a good scouting network is to find and secure diamonds in the rough, like Gabriel Jesus. City have now secured one of the best young strikers on the planet for the prime of his career for relatively little cash, allowing themselves to free up money for other positions. As Jose noted, that includes full-back.

4. Extra finishing sessions for his attackers

Even before Jesse Lingard performed his local hero act, dragging Manchester United out of a 2-0 hole at home to the Clarets, the midfielder had managed to miss a point-blank chance when it was easier to score than not.

Perhaps he was just getting in on the act to make his fellow attackers feel better?

United were even more profligate against Leicester City and should have run out easy winners if they hadn't spurned a number of chances.

Four points dropped in three days has had more to do with poor finishing than almost any other factor.

5. Those defensive instincts

As much as that Leicester game should have been settled by his attackers, the way that Manchester United receded into their shell is a concern - and so unshakeably typical of the Portuguese. As a rule, United fans have backed Mourinho when he's gone into big games with a conservative gameplan - notably against City and Liverpool.

But against Leicester, trying to hold onto a 2-1 lead cost his team at a time when they don't even have the defensive solidity to be able to trust themselves to hold out.

Eric Bailly's return from injury will no doubt be a help but for now it's Lindelof, Smalling, Jones and Rojo. United's best players are all at the other end of the pitch but that is rarely reflected in their gameplan.

Sports / Manchester United Midfielder Marouane Fellaini Complains Of Mistreatment by fatomiluyi(m): 6:31am On Dec 29, 2017
Belgium international and Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has hit out at what he believes to be the unjust treatment he has received since moving to England.

Now halfway through his tenth season in the Premier League, six with Everton and four with Manchester United, Fellaini has been sent off three times amid a number of controversial moments.

However, he complained about those who describe him as a nasty kind of player.

"They have labelled me an aggressive player, a murderer," he said.

"Look, I'm fanatical, the team that wants it the hardest wins but there have been times when I came out as the villain.

"What should I do if they pull me by the hair? It sounds like a joke, but it really hurts," he insisted, referring to an incident which saw him elbow Robert Huth and receive a three game ban last year.

"Last season I was suspended after the derby against City for a headbutt on [Sergio] Aguero; he stepped towards me and then dropped dead, but, no, I get the red.

"Players often try to provoke me but do you know how many yellow cards I collected last season? Four, in 45 matches. I've never destroyed someone's career."

The 30-year-old explained that he feels that there is one rule for him, and another for other players, referring in particular to a tackle by Shane Long in victory over Southampton in September.

"Do you see how insanely good luck I had? He could have broken my leg," noted Fellaini.

"Without the tape around my ankle, it would definitely be broken and I would have been out for six months.

"If I did that, I'd be suspended for three games, maybe five, I swear to you, he got a yellow, apologised, and that was it." click here for more

Sports / 7 Rising Serie A Stars Who Premier League Clubs Could Target In January by fatomiluyi(m): 3:59am On Dec 28, 2017
LUIS ALBERTO (LAZIO)

Luis Alberto has been the surprise star of Serie A this term – only last season, the Spaniard seemed surplus to requirements at Lazio. He made just four league starts and admitted that “between January and February, I experienced the worst moment of my career”. However, thanks to the help of a mental coach and the tactical nous of Simone Inzaghi, he has turned his fortunes around and reminded everyone why Liverpool once paid £6.8m for him as a young player.

Alberto started the 2017/18 campaign positively, playing an instrumental role in the 4-1 thrashing of an expensively assembled Milan side in September. He then went on a run of assisting a goal for five consecutive matches, one of which came in the shock 2-1 win away to reigning champions Juventus. Currently, the 25-year-old sits inside the top 10 Serie A players in terms of key passes and dribbles completed per game.

Operating between a five-man midfield and lone striker Ciro Immobile, Alberto appears to have found his positional niche. He is now his team’s attacking connector, roaming and combining at will. Spain boss Julen Lopetegui is one important figure who's noticed, and handed the Lazio man his first senior Spain cap in November's friendly win over Costa Rica.

RODRIGO DE PAUL (UDINESE)

Many clubs have a knack for spotting talent, though few can boast a record equal to Udinese’s. Over the years they have scouted, signed and sold the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Juan Cuadrado, Medhi Benatia and Samir Handanovic. De Paul could be the next.

The Argentine hasn’t followed the usual process, however. Unlike the aforementioned stars, he was well known in Europe before joining the Zebrette thanks to two years spent in and around Valencia’s first team.

Flitting around in his No.10 role, De Paul’s one-touch passing, close control, dribbling skill and ingenuity make him a real threat between the lines. After an inconsistent maiden campaign in Italy, the 23-year-old now looks set to fulfil his potential and, as so many have done before, he could leave Udinese for bigger things.

ARKADIUSZ MILIK (NAPOLI)

Early on in his time with Napoli, Milik seemed the ideal man to replace Gonzalo Higuain thanks to his blend of physical strength and technical ability. The goals flowed, but he was held back by a series of injuries.

Having spent much of the last year out, the Poland international is now nearing full recovery. However, once he does return to action, the 23-year-old will find his pathway into Maurizio Sarri’s starting line-up blocked by the free-scoring converted winger Dries Mertens.

There have been rumours that Napoli are willing to loan Milik out in January to guarantee him some much-needed time on the pitch. Assuming he stays fit, his combination of aerial ability, precise finishing, clever movement and link-up play would make him a regular source of goals for most Premier League teams – even if only on a temporary basis.

RAFAEL TOLOI (ATALANTA)

Everton couldn’t have asked for a worse Europa League group stage opponent than Atalanta. The Premier League side were overwhelmed at home and away by one of the most aggressive defensive teams in Europe.

Brazilian Rafael Toloi played in both matches with the same relentlessness that he displays every weekend in Serie A. The defender thrives within Gian Piero Gasperini’s old-fashioned man-marking scheme, harrying his opposition with a frenzied desire. Consequently, only one player in the league averages more tackles per game.

The 27-year-old isn’t defined solely by his team’s tactics, however. He is also an astute marker who positions himself well and is more than comfortable carrying the ball down his preferred right side. Indeed, he can often be found in and around the opposition penalty box having successfully broken free of his defensive shackles. continue

Sports / A 300 Million XI That Could Compete With Manchester City by fatomiluyi(m): 5:24pm On Dec 27, 2017
Massive spending is needed in order for Manchester United to compete with neighbours Manchester City, according to manager Jose Mourinho.

His statements came on Saturday in the wake of the Red Devils' 2-2 draw at home to Burnley.

"Man City have bought defenders for the price of a striker," he said after their slip-up.

"It isn't enough, it isn't enough," he added of the 300 million euros that he has spent since his arrival at Old Trafford.

After those statements, we have decided to 'help' the former Real Madrid boss by building a team for 300 million euros capable of competing with the Citizens.

To calculate the price of players, we have taken into account their release clause if they have one (such as Antoine Griezmann or Alvaro Odriozola) and their value, according to Transfermarkt for players who don't have a buyout clause. Alex Sandro, Marco Verratti and Paulo Dybala all fall into that latter category.

In addition, we also took advantage of several players who are available on a free at the end of their contract, such as Kepa, Miranda, Giorgio Chiellini, Leon Goretzka, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez. READ MORE ON

Sports / Barcelona Humiliate Real Madrid In Clasico Win by fatomiluyi(m): 3:22pm On Dec 23, 2017
Barcelona not only won the first Clasico of La Liga's season, it may have effectively ruled defending champion Real Madrid out of the title race.

Barcelona is threatening to run away Spain, as it now sits 14 points clear of fourth-place Real Madrid (which has a game in hand) after a 3-0 win at the Bernabeu on Saturday, with Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Aleix Vidal getting on the scoresheet. Making matters better for Barcelona, second-place Atletico Madrid lost for the first time on Friday, meaning that the undefeated Catalan power will have at least an eight-point lead by the end of the week, while putting Real Madrid effectively to the sword with five months to go in the season.

Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid, fresh off another Club World Cup title, instead finds itself in an uncharacteristic fight for a top-four place while perhaps shifting the entirety of its focus to the Champions League, where it must face mighty PSG in the round of 16.

Real Madrid was seeking a quick start and nearly got it through Cristiano Ronaldo in the second minute. He was unmarked for a second header by the far post off a corner kick, but he was well offside before receiving the ball, with his opportunity off the underside of the crossbar disallowed.
Ronaldo had another golden opportunity in the 11th minute, with a cutback pass from Toni Kroos on the left finding Ronaldo at almost the same spot where Messi won El Clasico at the Bernabeu in April. The Portuguese star whiffed on his opportunity, though, and Dani Carvajal couldn't turn the inadvertent dummy on frame, under pressure from a recovering Andres Iniesta.

Real Madrid continued to apply the pressure, but perhaps it was Ronaldo putting too much pressure on himself, as he opted to fire away into traffic from the left channel instead of finding a wide-open Luka Modric in the box. The Croatian star, who was calling for the pass, showed his frustration after Ronaldo's shot was easily blocked in the 21st minute.

Barcelona's first true chance came in the 30th minute. Messi lifted it forward for Paulinho with a pinpoint pass, but the Brazilian's agile volley off the bounce was tipped out by goalkeeper Keylor Navas for a corner kick.

Ronaldo nearly struck on the ensuing foray forward, with the Real Madrid star stepping over and torturing his mark before sending a bouncing chance on frame that goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen tipped around the post for a corner with a kick save. continue
Sports / Early Manchester United Team News Revealed by fatomiluyi(m): 1:06pm On Dec 23, 2017
After their midweek flight to Bristol was diverted to Cardiff, Jose Mourinho was taking no chances for Manchester United's trip to Leicester.

Hours before Carabao Cup holders United crashed out of the quarter-finals to Bristol City, the team suffered travel turmoil when their plane had to land in the Welsh capital due to adverse weather conditions.

And although the expected journey time is just 15 minutes from Manchester to Leicester, Mourinho's men boarded a private chartered jet to make the 69-mile trip to East Midlands Airport on Friday.

United will be looking to close the gap on title rivals Manchester City when they take on the Foxes in Saturday's late 7.45pm kick-off.
Antonio Valencia, Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick remain out, however.

Manager Mourinho confirmed Valencia is sidelined with a hamstring injury, while appearing to rule midfielders Carrick and Fellaini out of the festive period.

Centre-back Eric Bailly is undergoing surgery on an ankle issue, but Paul Pogba is available for the Premier League once again having returned from his three-match domestic suspension in the Carabao Cup loss at Bristol City.

Mourinho, meanwhile, has labelled Manchester United's Premier League rivals as "privileged" and insists his side have been "punished by the calendar."

Sports / Manchester United Target Justin Kluivert In January Transfer Window by fatomiluyi(m): 9:53am On Dec 23, 2017
Manchester United have included Netherlands under-21 international Justin Kluivert on a shortlist of transfer options.

The Ajax forward joins Thomas Lemar, Malcom and Christian Pulisic as options to add a natural winger to Jose Mourinho’s squad.

The son of retired Netherlands striker Patrick, the 18-year-old Kluivert broke into Ajax’s first team in January. With just a season and half remaining on a contract that the Eredivisie club have struggled to lengthen and improve, Kluivert would be a relatively low-cost upgrade for United.

Mourinho’s admiration for the player is long-standing with the Old Trafford manager making a point of personally complimenting Kluivert on his debut campaign in the immediate aftermath of United’s Europa League Final victory over Ajax in May.

The winger is represented by Mino Raiola, whom the English Premier League club have dealt with on several recent transfers.

United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward recently indicated that a budget in the region of €90million would be made available to Mourinho to improve a squad that has won 13 of 18 Premier League fixtures, yet lies 11 points adrift of record setting leaders Manchester City.

Although the Portuguese coach publicly stated his desire to recruit a forward “who can play through the wings to give me more attacking options” in the summer window, United were not prepared to commit the financial resources required to secure one. As a result, Mourinho has divided wing duties between Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial – two forwards who prefer to attack centrally – or used wing backs to provide attacking width so far this season.

Mourinho generally avoids recruiting in January, he feels that clear residual shortcomings in his squad – coupled with the readiness of direct rivals to invest heavily this winter – make it sensible to bring forward at least of next summer’s planned reinforcement. continue reading
Sports / Valverde: Barca Clasico Win Will Not Settle Laliga by fatomiluyi(m): 7:56am On Dec 23, 2017
Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde agrees with Real Madrid counterpart Zinedine Zidane's belief that the outcome of Saturday's El Clasico will not be decisive in the battle to win LaLiga.

"It won't be decisive, certainly not," he told reporters, with Barca chasing three consecutive league wins at Madrid for the first time in their history. "We don't really talk about consequences of games until the game is over.

"There is no point talking about what would happen if we win, draw or lose until the game has been played.

"No matter what happens tomorrow there is a long road ahead." continue reading
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Leicester City Vs Manchester United (2 - 2) On 23rd December. 2017 by fatomiluyi(m): 7:41am On Dec 23, 2017
Neither Leicester City nor Manchester United will come into Saturday’s clash high on confidence after suffering disappointing losses in their last matches. Whilst the Foxes ended their hot run of form in the Premier League falling to the strugglers Crystal Palace last weekend, the Red Devils suffered a disappointing League Cup elimination to the Championship outfit Bristol City on Wednesday.

Leicester were also in action in mid-week when they were unlucky to get eliminated after penalties against Manchester City. The manager Claude Puel can be satisfied with the way in which his lads reacted after a tough home loss to the Glaziers as they conceded no more than a single goal being quite competitive over the 90 minutes of the Tuesday’s Carabao Cup clash
