Hello everyone. Please has anyone who gave birth in 2020 been able to renew their visa since 2024/ 2025? The VO's keep talking about the birth tourism ban in 2020 and had an issue with the 4mths stay and refused to renew the visa now even though birth was declared during the past interview and at cbp and full payment was made. Does this mean the visa will never be renewed since the fact still remains the lady had a baby in 2020. What will need to change to get a visa approval? Anyone overcome this situation before?

Also, please can you PM me the contact details that reached out to you, I want to try if they would respond to me...waiting is a bit frustrating as I cannot reach them neither can I reschedule my appointment even after sending emails to the Lagosniv, going there physically and raising tickets on AVITS.

Ok thanks, but my own 221g slip states that I should reschedule the appointment. Should I just wait indefinitely and watch my visa fee expire, as I'm not able to reschedule any appointment? I reckon everyone gets different info on their 221g slips, is this correct?

Be patient .For 221g refusals the embassy will email you themselves with a date to come for your interview.Just keep checking your email .

Hello, please how were you able to resolve the unsuccessful payment responses you kept getting when paying for your visa fee? Did the card payment work or you had to go into the bank to do the depoist?

If card payment, which card did you use? Was it also a Credit or Debit card?
If bank deposit, how long did it take to get approved and ready to schedule an appointment?

Please, after payment and answering questions for the interview waiver I was told I was eligible and I selected yes to go ahead but the thing is, the calendar is greyed out and I can’t even see December 2024 or year 2025 even after selecting lagos. Also, the top of the calendar is saying consulate appointment. Is this right for Dropbox

My dashboard has also auto generated a POST appointment letter but all info is blank. I’m just so confused, I just want to make sure I’m doing the right thing.

Hello everyone, please has anyone been in this situation and scaled through? I was told to schedule a 221g appointment but there is no button to click to reschedule under the IW application. I have sent countless emails to no avail. How do I go about this please? MRV fee will soon expire and no word from the embassy yet. Thank you.

I am a silent reader and in the same boat with you. Got my passport back in early October and unable to schedule 221G interview appointment. I've sent mails using the formats shared on this forum, made calls to no avail. I got tired and scheduled my trip to somewhere else - thank God I was able to collect my passport (Passport collection was another issue too as i did drop box in Abuja in August & requested for pick up in Lagos).
Would come back to it when i return in January...
I hope you get a solution to it soon.
Please share with us on the forum when you get the appointment.

As regards zero balance and bill, I had every even on the first interview date but I wasn't asked but I said I paid all my bills n all but it wasn't an issue at all and like what everyone says one has to pray very well for Favour n all..

She said it had been stopped since 2020 so if you need to birth you will need to apply for a medical visa which is still same category of visiting visa but u would have to schedule interview to explain and all

Hi,
The interview was pretty okay as it had to do with a date mismatch on their system which I answered with documents to show the real thing.

Also asked how long I stayed in the us the last time I visited which was for birthing and I told her, she looked up with a smirk and I immediately told her I had my email correspondence with me to show that I sent an email explaining my situation and I was told I could use the visa for birthing then.

She then said hope u know it's not allowed anymore and I answered yes and I was like I know if I have to use it for Medical's I would have to reapply again for a fresh visa even if I have a valid visa which she said correct to, visa approved.

Not sure it's a big deal, it would just be questions bout ur birth n all

Dear House, please has anyone here been called in for a follow up interview after a 221g notification came in after a dropbox was done? As in the embassy called them to come on a particular date? I got a notification to schedule a follow up interview but I am unable to schedule the date on Avits...the button is not there to reschedule.

Please if you were able to reschedule on avtis, how did you do it? If you sent them an email and they responded, how did you do that as well? Than you.

The reschedule button is not showing under the IW application I did. I have sent emails but not getting any responses. Please has anyone experienced this or knows how to go around this? Thank you

Hello Guys,

I went for physical interview at the embassy last Thursday with my husband for visa renewal and both visas were approved, only for me to receive a 221G email yday stating that I should come for a follow up interview while my husbands visa was issued.(passport picked).

So a little backstory, my last USA visa was used for birthing even if it was the normal tourist visa, I informed them of my intention to birth there and got the normal email of u can birth but pay your bills etc,

This also came up during the interview that I gave birth in 2017 in the us and all questions she asked was answered but she did not ask me if I paid my bills or ask to see the receipt though I had my receipt and zero balance with me.
She also asked if I wasn't pregnant and won't be using it for medical again as it has been banned since 2020.

So I am just here confused as to what the issue might be cos I haven't heard of anyone who went for physical interview and whose visa was approved but later told to come for follow up interview.

Please house any idea what the issue might be or anyone with similar experience.

Please help.
