Foreign AffairsRe: Iranian Woman, Shamim Mafi Arrested For Trafficking Drones & Bombs For Tehran by Fawri: 10:18pm On Apr 19
masterfactor:
Every Iranian citizen in America is being hunted.

Giving a Dog a bad name just to hang it
you think security in America is as useless as that of Nigeria where you do things and get no consequences

In a sane country no other law should be greater than the law of the land
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Is Bleeding From Within - Peter Obi by Fawri: 3:50am On Apr 19
LordBiden:
Sad enough not even obi can fix the system.
To fix Nigeria you would need someone with the craze of Nyesom wike to implement certain tough policies like.

Death penalty for looters.
Strict birth control measures.
Part time legislation.
A unicameral legislature.
Cutting down cost of running government.
Death penalty for kidnappers and terrorists.

PoliticsRe: VDM Confronts VIO In Abuja For Blocking Road At A Traffic Light Causing Traffic by Fawri: 11:37pm On Jun 28, 2025
I don’t see the need for vios
In advance countries
Their are cameras that detect fake or expired plate numbers and vio will be sent to their house to drop letters so they pay up but in Nigeria everything is always upside down

If the car dealer has insurance
No need to worry about anything
EducationNigeria Tutors & Parents: What’s The REAL Cost Of Quality Tutoring In 2025? by Fawri(op):
Last week, I met two tutors in Lagos who opened my eyes.

The first was Mama Nkechi, a retired teacher in Surulere. She charges ₦1,000/hour for JAMB prep, but spends ₦1,500 on transport daily. "Parents complain when I ask for ₦1,500," she told me, wiping sweat in a stuffy apartment with 6 students sharing one fan.

The second was David, a 24-year-old coding tutor in Lekki. His rate? ₦8,000/hour. "My clients pay in dollars via Paystack," he said, sipping iced coffee at a coworking space.

This is Nigeria’s tutoring paradox.

🔹 Parents in Agege haggle over ₦500/hour for Maths
🔹 Parents in Banana Island wire ₦50k upfront for "British curriculum" tutors
🔹 Tutors with PhDs sit jobless while quacks with fake certificates exploit desperate families

Let’s talk honestly:

Tutors
"I have a BSc in Chemistry but earn ₦800/hr teaching 5 students at once in Ajegunle. Is this fair?"
Why does a coding tutor earn 10x more than someone teaching Literature?
"The worst part? Parents ghost after 3 months without paying."
Parents
"I paid ₦3k/hr for a ‘WAEC expert’ who failed to improve my son’s Maths score. How do I spot fakes?"
"Why do tutors in Victoria Island charge 5x more than Ikeja for the same subject?"
"Last month, a tutor disappeared with my ₦15k deposit. Now I only pay per session."
The Bigger Problem
There’s no system. No trust. No standards.

A mother in Mile 12 told me: "Finding a good tutor is harder than getting a visa!" Meanwhile, qualified teachers are driving Uber because they can’t find students.

PS: I’m working with some educators to build a Nigerian solution – but first, we need to hear your truths.

So I ask you:

Is ₦1,500/hour for a certified Maths tutor too much?
Should coding tutors really earn more than English tutors?
How do we stop the scams on both sides?
Share your story below – no judgment, just real talk.
