egoldman,

I totally understand your Fears and they are well-founded, when I mentioned WEMA bank i did attach the "word"risk to it

I have done a bit of research on WEMA, They have an extremely large asset base one of the largest in fact but they are not moving with times and are not being run properly but hte comapny has a potential to be in the top 4 banks

If I buy WEMA, it is not for buying and selling, I intend to hold on to it for years so  am actually not bothered that by it going down to N2.5

OODUA owns 45% of WEMA and there is a legislation that states that State Government or Federal Government must not have more than a 10% stake in a company, this will be effective from Decemeber this year

They will have to sell at least 35%, this will stop the Yoruba state governors that own OODUA to stop meddling with WEMA bank and allow it to achieve its rightful position, this might take years but as I said it is not a short-term invesment.

There are still a few good deals coming out later this year.

I Started with Dangote sugar refinery and I have not regretted it, I am happy though I did not buy transcorp as I did not think they were worth all the hype,

Oceanic is definitely good and will likely double by the beginning of next year at least, I have already invested in that

I also Hear Dangote might be coming out with Obajana offer sometime this year, that too will be a definite

there is one risk I am willing to take though, Wema Bank is a sleeping Giant and the shares are currently N4.92 I think by the end of this year WEMA will be at N10 -N12

It is a risk but one am willing to take

what do you guys think
