I thought we had a lot of possession play and penetration was good many times. We could be a lot more cohesive at this point and sharper in attack but it is what it is if we have to play Mikel and Moses. Perhaps a better idea would be Musa, Iheancho and Ighalo in a front 3.

I see the tactical benefit to Iwobi deep and Mikel further forward. Iwobi's recovery play is much swifter than Mikel's, during defense. And Iwobi showed that a few times. Again, this is to the detriment of the attack but hey.

I think it depends on individual's pre-assessment of how good we are in the first place. A lot of people are thinking "this is our year" and expectations are through the roof. Perhaps it good to enter the competition being humble.

No need for Iwobi to play deep, this is something Ndidi can do easily. Mikel can be his usual self, whatever that is.

Llana had zero effect as a winger. This Real Madrid side didn't particularly play great today, Casemiero was basically invisible, Isco was thinking about his girlfriend. Aside Luka none was particularly brilliant. Liverpool couldn't counter, play direct or play at all. Klopp didn't do enough in my books.

Zidane's selection was very much predictable, even Klopp so there was no tactical maneuver there.

This is Champions League final and Klopp tried to adapt by reducing those ghen ghen pressing so as to limit spaces to be exploited by Madrid and the number of chances created. It worked because apart from those sara there was no real threat from Madrid.

Salah is more influential to LFC than Ronaldo or any other player to Madrid. So you understand what it means to lose such a player. There was no preparation for that, no like for like player on the bench, nobody that can do half of what Salah adds to the team. That team is not as good as we want to think it is. Nobody saw this coming at the beginning of the season.

There should have been some sort of preparation for that. A good coach would have seen to that. What if Salah had a flu overnight? Sure it affected the game plan but no plan B. He should have given a fiery speech during the half time talk, tactical changes as well. Bring Llana to operate from the middle, heck target Ramos for a card or something. Not sending the troops out with "do whatever you like" command.
Most were expecting Bale to start or come to operate from the flanks but he didn't. Guess they didn't see that coming?
Against Roma they played direct, long balls over the top, What stopped them today? The trio of Modric, Kroos and Casemiro, while maybe more technically gifted would not physically outshine Henderson, Wijnaldum and Milner. The point is this isn't something new. With Ramos, you get the whole package.

He does whatever he has to do to win games. He didn't do same against Neymar, he didn't against Dybala, he didn't against Lewandowski. Then whatever the f*ck happened with Salah (he's not the first to wrestle a player to the ground), and all of a sudden he's a monster. And a Madrid fan would buy into the hysteria.

Ramos is not a clean player. He has never given off that aura, never said he is. And honestly, I don't think he cares.

He does not care neither do I. I can't stand dirty players.simples. He wrestled Salah to the floor with no intention of even or attempting to win the ball. It changed the game. No one is going to argue with that .

What no one can take away from RM is the timely substitution from Zidane, the individual brilliance of Bale and the isKarius. That's the summary of the UCL final 2018.
