In 2022, I booked my flight ticket from the UK to Nigeria through an agent who was introduced to me. Although I preferred to book my flight online, I decided to patronize her. A day before my scheduled flight, she called me and informed me that my ticket had been cancelled.
I was so worked up because I had already made arrangements for the trip, and everyone knew I was leaving tomorrow; in fact, an Uber was already booked to take me to the airport. I had already spent money buying various things, so the news came to me as a painful shock. I went online to look for cheap tickets, but I couldn't find any. So, I just knelt down and prayed to God.
I told God that if this is the last thing He does for me, He should just do it. I didn't want to tell anyone about it because it might seem to them like I was stylishly asking for funds.
The deal day eventually came, and I had no ticket. I was sitting in the car heading toward the airport, scrolling through the website of the agency I preferred to book my flight from and refreshing the page from time to time.
About an hour before my arrival at the airport, I came across a very cheap ticket. With quick fingers, I booked it instantly. I don't know why the ticket was so cheap; it is possible there were available seats on the plane, so they decided to reduce the price, or someone called to cancel their ticket. But the important thing is that it was indeed a miracle for me.

I reluctantly informed them i won't go, only to later hear from my cuz when he returned that our friend drowned. I was around 12 by then.

sorry but life's not like that here in ghana and im sure its almost the same in every african country and this doesnt mean she will be doing it for the rest of her life.here the younger ones handle such chores but your parents will always do this for no reason
I'm aware! My point she is feeling too big to assist parents get water (she called it humbling), then, I expect her to get someone who will do it and get paid from her purse or at least sink borehole. By doing this, the Big cop status has been activated! Like I said, she want validations, common trait among female.
I'm marvelled that an employed adult still depending on her parent for everything. She could have paid someone to do it. Or did she prefer her parent to fetch it for her? I think it's their normal behavior of seeking validation/attention.
I don't have a biased mind towards food. I normally like to try new food. Different cultures. Anything. So I am not rejecting.
Cocoyam leaf is a delicacy in ghana o. It's called contomere and I once heard a Nigerian presenter on radio argue with another Ghanian presenter that no one eats it in Nigeria and its poor people food the way they attacked her. Even though I noticed she was trying to be careful with her words.
They really don't have leaves in ghana. Although depending on the area one resides. Cabbage and lettuce is more common. Imagine cooking Egusi with cabbage or lettuce.
They will be exited... They are always proud of what they have. I once heard a Ghanian say banku is the best food in the WORLD... Someone who has never traveled out of Ghana before. (Which I like them for their patriotism)
I don really suffer for food matter though... I have a dentist friend who we once went to market to buy stuff together. We bought stuff... G/oil, tomatoes, pepper etc. Me thinking we were going to cook stew and rice.
Only for him to boil rice and and start using their local mortar to mash pepper, tomatoes and onions. Which is the black bowl in the picture and serves as a mortar for blending and plate or bowl for eating. (which is basically the stuff in the picture you posted) when he started adding the vegetable oil I asked him what he was doing he said he was making stew. It was late but I insisted he fry and cook the pepper Abi sauce the normal way before we ate that night. Imagine just boiling rice and add ground pepper and tomatoes with oil.
I don't know if it has a different name... But everyone calls it pepper with whatever maybe because they know I am Nigerian.
You can't really do much with it, unless you start small but the profit margins will be low. this what i would do, I will put word out in my neighborhood or friends that i want smart phone or laptop(distress sales) to buy or i will simply go on websites like jiji or any other market place and contact sellers. I will bargain for used but neat gadgets. I'm in no hurry so i will make countless calls until i find a good product which will guarantee me good ROI after sales. I usually bargain for 20% or more reduction in the device ,then Easily Flip it online or let friends know i have So So So product for sale or sell it on the same jiji platform for a reasonable price. Checking for damages is very vital, Some damages can be fixed easily and others can't.
Those skills your friends mentioned is not feasible in my opinion. the only legit airdrops I've seen in my life was $5 airdrop from blockchain and bc game gave free doge coins out to its gamers when it was worth $0 and airdrops from gaming chatrooms. You don't have to necessarily meet them in person, it can be by following them on Linkedin,Fb,Nairaland,X or Instagram or anywhere. check out their various portfolio's and the skills they have. Start by learning each skill in that field on YouTube or alternatively Courses which i don't advice as a beginner. Pick up random projects in those fields then learn the fundamentals on YouTube. Google should be your friend and Nairaland is full of Handful useful information's. if you encounter a problem just google it on youtube or google or ask on forums.
