It is no longer news that at the RCCG Annual Ministers Thanksgiving this morning, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, announced his retirement as the Overseer of RCCG in Nigeria.

This is sequel to the new legal requirements set up by the Financial Regulations Council, guiding all registered churches, mosques, CSOs. They now have a maximum period of twenty years to lead their organizations. In retirement, they are not permitted to hand over to their families.

The independent Corrupt Practices And Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has forced the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, to refund N4, 760,000 to 952 fresh undergraduate students of the institution.
The Spokesperson of ICPC, Rasheedat Adunni Okoduwa, told newsmen that 952 fresh undergraduates of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, who alleged exploitation by the school authority to the tune of N4,760,000 have returned their money.
According to reports, the refund is as a result of illegal extra charges levied the students for ICT training, it was also gathered that the commission was able to burst the exploitation after receiving a complaint from one of the students.
The student alleged that fresh undergraduates were made to pay additional N5,000 as fee for ICT Training despite paying N2,500 earlier for the same training.
Following this, the operatives of the Commission swung into action and investigations revealed that indeed the students were levied twice for the same training as a result of this, the Commission mandated the management to resolve this issue within a stipulated period.
The Management has since then, made refunds to students who have presented their evidence of payment.

The Federal University of Technology, Minna, has expelled 700 students for various offences ranging from bad behaviour to poor academic performance in the 2015/2016 academic session.

The institution’s vice-chancellor, Prof. Musbau Akanji, revealed this on Thursday during the 30th matriculation ceremony of the university in Minna.
Akanji said the majority of the students were expelled due to low academic performance and anti-social behaviour.

According to him, the university has cancelled the practice of awarding pass mark for first degree courses, while the score has been raised. Consequently, most of those expelled did not score above 1.5 out of a possible GPA of 5.0.
He said the university hopes to reduce the high rate of failures recorded last year, adding that tutorial lecturers from the Postgraduate School would be engaged to assist the students.

The vice-chancellor, however, advised the matriculated students as well as all the students to be committed to their studies, urging them to shun examination malpractice, cultism, theft, and illicit drug use, adding that the university had set up the Committee Against Anti-Social Activities to monitor students who engage in anti-social behaviour.

Stephen Arthur who was shot by a Ghanaian police constable whom he failed to give some requested amount of money , has been paralysed from the waist down and has since been on admitted at the Cantonment Police Hospital .
According to Ghana Web News , Doctors at the Hospital say as he has urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, erectile dysfunction and has his muscle power reduced , subjecting him to be permanently dependent for the rest of his life with no hope of regaining lost functions in his muscles , kidney , and anal .
Despite his hospital bills been taken care of by the police with a monthly allowance of GHC 500, which was last given to him in November 2016, The Attorney -General’ s Department has failed to pay compensation to him after it was agreed to an out -of -court settlement in February 2013 .
Speaking in an interview with Joy News on yesterday, the victim who is also an orphan said:
‘ For now , my condition is bad , I am not feeling happy . I am passing through a lot because I can ’ t move now. The wheelchair I sit to move around is broken down’ .
He said his family members have stopped visiting him after learning his condition might not get any better. ‘ I am here alone , ’ he let out tears, adding , but for the courtesies of some nurses he would not get some things .
He said he has been told that the Inspector General of Police ( IGP ) , John Kudalor is yet to sign his compensation package. “I want him to do that for me .’
Asked what he would do with the package if approved, he said he would ‘ start a new life, ‘ I am tired of lying in bed .’
