Hi everyone, I got to Germany on a student visa earlier this year and my fiancee applied for a family reunion appointment date in March (since it takes time, we were hoping we would have gotten married before she got called). Unfortunately, I can not go to Nigeria until March next year for the wedding. We are hoping she is not called for the interview before then. Is there anything we can do? Should she apply for another date?
Thank you

|

Celebrimbor: What was the exact date you applied? Please does anyone have the recent list of requirements for the family reunification visa process? |

Didibk: Yes!!! They should apply for an appointment date ASAP. The waiting period is almost 2 years now i think.
If i may ask please, did you wait for an appointment date like in the case of family reunification or your school expedited your visa application? thank you! But won’t the name on the passport be an issue? Cos her name will change when we get married |

Didibk: His Dad should write a consent letter stating that he is the father of the boy and approves of him joining you, his mother in Germany.
He should also attach his passport data page to the letter.
Normally, he is supposed to join your son for the interview (it's written on the checklist that the parent in Nigeria should come with the child/ren for the child's interview).
The letter which should contain his email address and phone number is usually the option if the father or mother cannot appear with the child for the interview. Hello everyone, I’ll be leaving for Germany in some weeks for my masters. I’ll be getting married at the end of the year. Does it make sense for my fiancée to apply for an appointment date for a family reunion visa now? |

fancyto: If it's a little child they may consider because of the vulnerability of the child but for dependant they don't allow o. Not just Germany the whole Schengen may be that's why a lot are single here. I heard UK use to before but they stopped it this year.. |

Fefeeee: I got to the consulate pretty early, around 6. Paulinius hadn’t started his shenanigans (He made a lady cry though). I went through the gate and was answered to first because I had printed out the checklist from the website, so everyone pretty much used my checklist. The arrangement was the original and one photocopy, you arrange the originals and the photocopies separately according to the checklist of the diplo site.
I think the person that conducted my interview was a newbie, she was laughing and smiling all through, a young lady.
She asked 1. Date of resumption 2. Uni and course 3. How I got admission to the course, because I was coming in from another field and the course is extremely competitive. 4. Definition of my course 5. Why did I pick Germany
Then all to my surprise, I was given an intensive written test, printed out, theory and German. Basic IT questions like the function of an operating system, different types of computer networks and also math questions. The whole interview took almost 1 hour 30 mins.
The lady was extremely friendly which helped a lot. She told me the processing was going to take about 10-15 working days. I meant the “German” as the fill in the gap type of questions not the German language |

Harrybird: Please I have some questions. First, I graduated with a First class degree from a private university in Ghana, am I qualified for category A Booking appointment? Second, do I need to do authentication and legalization of my documents to get admission and visa?
Thank you. I just got this email from the consulate “Dear Sir, With regard to your visa application, we kindly request that you submit the following documents to the Consulate. Proof of incoming insurance that covers your stay in Germany for 180 days or statutory health insurance or private health insurance. Please also indicate your intended travel dates in writing, keeping in mind that your departure should be scheduled no sooner than 10 days after the date you send us the documents. Do not buy your ticket until you receive your passport with visa in it! You may either forward them via courier service or drop them directly at the gate of the Consulate. A print out of this mail is necessary in any case We appreciate your prompt attention to this request. Kind Regards” Is this an AM mail? |
